1 Lolu lugwalo lwezizukulwana zikaAdamu. Mhla uNkulunkulu edala umuntu, wamenza ngokomfanekiso kaNkulunkulu.
This is the book of the lineage of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him to the likeness of God.
2 Wabadala owesilisa lowesifazana, wasebabusisa, wasebiza ibizo labo wathi ngabantu, mhla bedalwa.
He created them, male and female; and he blessed them. And he called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 UAdamu wasephila iminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi amathathu; wasezala indodana efuzweni lwakhe njengokomfanekiso wakhe, wabiza ibizo layo wathi nguSeti.
Then Adam lived for one hundred and thirty years. And then he conceived a son in his own image and likeness, and he called his name Seth.
4 Njalo izinsuku zikaAdamu esezele uSeti zaba yiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili; wasezala amadodana lamadodakazi.
And after he conceived Seth, the days of Adam that passed were eight hundred years. And he conceived sons and daughters.
5 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaAdamu, aziphilayo, zaba yiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lamatshumi amathathu, wasesifa.
And all the time that passed while Adam lived was nine hundred and thirty years, and then he died.
6 USeti wasephila iminyaka elikhulu lanhlanu; wazala uEnosi.
Seth likewise lived for one hundred and five years, and then he conceived Enos.
7 USeti wasephila esezele uEnosi iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lesikhombisa; wazala amadodana lamadodakazi.
And after he conceived Enos, Seth lived for eight hundred and seven years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
8 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaSeti zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye letshumi lambili; wasesifa.
And all the days of Seth that passed were nine hundred and twelve years, and then he died.
9 UEnosi wasephila iminyaka engamatshumi ayisificamunwemunye, wazala uKenani.
In truth, Enos lived ninety years, and then he conceived Cainan.
10 UEnosi wasephila, esezele uKenani, iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili letshumi lanhlanu; wazala amadodana lamadodakazi.
After his birth, he lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
11 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaEnosi zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lanhlanu; wasesifa.
And all the days of Enos that passed were nine hundred and five years, and then he died.
12 UKenani wasephila iminyaka engamatshumi ayisikhombisa, wazala uMahalaleli.
Likewise, Cainan lived seventy years, and then he conceived Mahalalel.
13 UKenani wasephila, esezele uMahalaleli, iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lamatshumi amane; wazala amadodana lamadodakazi.
And after he conceived Mahalalel, Cainan lived for eight hundred and forty years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
14 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaKenani zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye letshumi, wasesifa.
And all the days of Cainan that passed were nine hundred and ten years, and then he died.
15 UMahalaleli wasephila iminyaka engamatshumi ayisithupha lanhlanu, wazala uJaredi.
And Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and then he conceived Jared.
16 UMahalaleli wasephila, esezele uJaredi, iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lamatshumi amathathu; wazala amadodana lamadodakazi.
And after he conceived Jared, Mahalalel lived for eight hundred and thirty years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
17 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaMahalaleli zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lamatshumi ayisificamunwemunye lanhlanu; wasesifa.
And all the days of Mahalalel that passed were eight hundred and ninety-five years, and then he died.
18 UJaredi wasephila iminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi ayisithupha lambili, wazala uEnoki.
And Jared lived for one hundred and sixty-two years, and then he conceived Enoch.
19 UJaredi wasephila, esezele uEnoki, iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili; wazala amadodana lamadodakazi.
And after he conceived Enoch, Jared lived for eight hundred years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
20 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaJaredi zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lamatshumi ayisithupha lambili; wasesifa.
And all the days of Jared that passed were nine hundred and sixty-two years, and then he died.
21 UEnoki wasephila iminyaka engamatshumi ayisithupha lanhlanu, wazala uMethusela.
Now Enoch lived for sixty-five years, and then he conceived Methuselah.
22 UEnoki wasehamba loNkulunkulu, esezele uMethusela, iminyaka engamakhulu amathathu; wazala amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Enoch walked with God. And after he conceived Methuselah, he lived for three hundred years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
23 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaEnoki zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu amathathu lamatshumi ayisithupha lanhlanu.
And all the days of Enoch that passed were three hundred and sixty-five years.
24 UEnoki wasehamba loNkulunkulu; kasekho, ngoba uNkulunkulu wamthatha.
And he walked with God, and then he was seen no more, because God took him.
25 UMethusela wasephila iminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi ayisificaminwembili lesikhombisa, wazala uLameki.
Likewise, Methuselah lived for one hundred and eighty-seven years, and then he conceived Lamech.
26 UMethusela wasephila, esezele uLameki, iminyaka engamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi ayisificaminwembili lambili; wazala amadodana lamadodakazi.
And after he conceived Lamech, Methuselah lived for seven hundred and eighty-two years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
27 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaMethusela zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lamatshumi ayisithupha lesificamunwemunye; wasesifa.
And all the days of Methuselah that passed were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and then he died.
28 ULameki wasephila iminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi ayisificaminwembili lambili, wazala indodana.
Then Lamech lived for one hundred and eighty-two years, and he conceived a son.
29 Wasebiza ibizo layo wathi nguNowa esithi: Lo uzasiduduza ekusebenzeni kwethu lekutshikatshikeni kwezandla zethu, ngenxa yomhlabathi, ewuqalekisileyo iNkosi.
And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will console us from the works and hardships of our hands, in the land that the Lord has cursed.”

And after he conceived Noah, Lamech lived for five hundred and ninety-five years, and he conceived sons and daughters.
31 Zonke-ke izinsuku zikaLameki zaziyiminyaka engamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi ayisikhombisa lesikhombisa; wasesifa.
And all the days of Lamech that passed were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and then he died.
32 UNowa waba leminyaka engamakhulu amahlanu, uNowa wasezala uShemu, uHamu, loJafethi.
In truth, when Noah was five hundred years old, he conceived Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
