1 Njalo lezi yizizukulwana zamadodana kaNowa: UShemu, uHamu loJafethi. Kwasekuzalwa amadodana kubo emva kukazamcolo.
Now, these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and there were born to them sons after the flood.
2 Amadodana kaJafethi: UGomeri loMagogi loMadayi loJavani loThubhali loMesheki loTirasi.
The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog, and Madai, and Javan and Tubal, —and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Lamadodana kaGomeri: UAshikenazi loRifathi loTogarma.
And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Lamadodana kaJavani: UElisha loTarshishi, amaKiti lamaDodani.
And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish. Kittim, and Rodanim, —
5 Kwehlukaniswa kusukela kubo izihlenge zezizwe emazweni abo, ngulowo lalowo ngokolimi lwakhe, langokosendo lwabo, ezizweni zabo.
From these, were dispersed [the inhabitants] of the coastlands of the nations, in their lands, each man by his tongue, by their families in their nations.
6 Lamadodana kaHamu: UKushi loMizirayimi loPuti loKhanani.
And, the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim and Phut and Canaan.
7 Lamadodana kaKushi: USeba loHavila loSabitha loRama loSabitheka. Lamadodana kaRahama: UShebha loDedani.
And, the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabtah and Raamah, and Sabtechah, —And the sons of Raamah, Sheba and Dedan.
8 UKushi wasezala uNimrodi; yena waqala ukuba liqhawe emhlabeni.
And, Cush begat Nimrod.—he, became a hero in the earth;
9 Yena waba ngumzingeli olamandla phambi kweNkosi; ngakho kuthiwa: NjengoNimrodi, umzingeli olamandla phambi kweNkosi.
he, became a hero of hunting before Yahweh, for this cause, it is said. Like Nimrod, a hero of hunting before Yahweh.
10 Lokuqala kombuso wakhe yiBabeli leEreki leAkadi leKaline elizweni leShinari.
So the beginning of his kingdom came to be Babel, and Erech, and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 Kwaphuma kulelolizwe uAshuri, wasesakha iNineve leRehobothi-Ire leKala,
From that land, went forth Asshur, —and he built Nineveh, and Rehoboth-ir, and Calah:
12 leReseni phakathi kweNineve leKala; lo ngumuzi omkhulu.
and Resen, between Niveveh and Calah, —the same is the great city.
13 UMizirayimi wasezala amaLudi lamaAnami lamaLehabi lamaNafethuhi
And, Mizraim, begat Ludim and Anamim and Lehabim, and Naphtuchim;
14 lamaPatrusi lamaKaseluhi - lapho okwavela khona amaFilisti - lamaKafitori.
and Pathrusim and Casluhim whence came forth Philistim and Caphtorim.
15 UKhanani wasezala uSidoni izibulo lakhe, loHethi,
And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth:
16 lomJebusi lomAmori lomGirigashi
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite;
17 lomHivi lomArki lomSini
and the Hivite and the Arkite, and the Sinite:
18 lomArvadi lomZemari lomHamathi; lemva kwalokho usendo lwamaKhanani lwahlakazeka.
and the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite, —and after-wards, were spread abroad the families of the Canaanite.
19 Umngcele wamaKhanani wasusukela eSidoni usiya eGerari uze ufike eGaza, usiya eSodoma leGomora leAdima leZeboyimi kuze kufike eLasha.
And it came to pass that the boundary of the Canaanite was from Zidon, as thou enterest in towards Gerar unto Gaza, —as thou enterest in towards Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboim, as far as Lasha.
20 La ngamadodana kaHamu, ngokosendo lwawo, langendimi zawo, emazweni awo, ezizweni zawo.
These, are the sons of Ham, by their families by their tongues, in their lands in their nations.
21 UShemu laye wasezalelwa amadodana; unguyise wamadodana wonke akaEberi, umfowabo kaJafethi, omkhulu.
Now, to Shem, father of all the sons of Eber, elder brother of Japheth, to him also, were children born.
22 Amadodana kaShemu: UElamu loAshuri loArpakishadi loLudi loAramu.
The sons of Shem, Elam and Asshur, —and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram.
23 Lamadodana kaAramu: U-Uzi loHuli loGetheri loMashi.
And, the sons of Aram: Uz and Hul, and Gether and Mash.
24 UArpakishadi wasezala uShela; uShela wasezala uEberi.
Now Arpachshad, begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.
25 Kwasekuzalelwa uEberi amadodana amabili, ibizo lomunye nguPelegi, ngoba ensukwini zayo umhlaba wehlukaniswa; lebizo lomfowabo nguJokithani.
And to Eber, were born two sons, —the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days, was the earth divided, and the name of his brother was Joktan.
26 UJokithani wasezala uAlimodadi loShelefi loHazamavethi loJera
Now, Joktan, begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah;
27 loHadoramu loUzali loDikila
and Hadoram and Uzal, and Diklah:
28 loObali loAbhimayeli loShebha
and Obal and Abimael, and Sheba:
29 loOfiri loHavila loJobabi; bonke labo ngamadodana kaJokithani.
and Ophir and Havilah, and Jobab—all these were sons of Joktan.
30 Indawo yokuhlala kwabo isukela eMesha lapho usiya eSefari, intaba yempumalanga.
And it came to pass that their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou enterest in towards Sephar, the mountain of the east.
31 La ngamadodana kaShemu, ngokosendo lwabo langendimi zabo, emazweni abo ngokwezizwe zabo.
These are the sons of Shem, by their families by their tongues, in their lands by their nations.
32 Lolu lusendo lwamadodana kaNowa ngezizukulwana zawo ezizweni zawo; kwasekusehlukaniswa kulaba izizwe emhlabeni emva kukazamcolo.
These, are the families of the sons of Noah, by their generations in their nations, and from these, were dispersed the nations in the earth after the flood.
