1 INkosi yasisithi kuMozisi: Yana kuFaro uthi kuye: Itsho njalo iNkosi: Yekela abantu bami bahambe ukuze bangikhonze.
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, “This is what Adonai says, ‘Let my people go, that they may abad ·serve· me.
2 Uba-ke usala ukubayekela bahambe, khangela, ngizatshaya yonke imingcele yakho ngamaxoxo.
If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs:
3 Njalo umfula uzanyakazela ngamaxoxo, azakhuphuka, angene endlini yakho, lekamelweni lakho lokulala, laphezu kombheda wakho, lendlini yenceku zakho, laphezu kwesizwe sakho, lemaziko akho, lemiganwini yakho yokuxovela ukudla;
and the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs:
4 lamaxoxo azakhuphukela kuwe, lesizweni sakho lezincekwini zakho zonke.
and the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.’”
5 INkosi yasisithi kuMozisi: Tshono kuAroni uthi: Yelula isandla sakho ngentonga yakho phezu kwemifula, phezu kwezifula, laphezu kweziziba, wenze amaxoxo akhuphukele elizweni leGibhithe.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Tell Aaron [Light-bringer], ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].’”
6 UAroni waseselula isandla sakhe phezu kwamanzi eGibhithe; lamaxoxo akhuphuka, asibekela ilizwe leGibhithe.
Aaron [Light-bringer] stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt [Abode of slavery]; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].
7 Labalumbi benza njalo ngamalumbo abo, benza amaxoxo akhuphukela elizweni leGibhithe.
The magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].
8 UFaro wasebabiza oMozisi loAroni wathi: Ncengani iNkosi ukuthi isuse amaxoxo kimi lesizweni sami; njalo ngizayekela isizwe sihambe ukuthi bahlabele iNkosi.
Then Pharaoh called for Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer], and said, “Entreat Adonai, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Adonai.”
9 UMozisi wasesithi kuFaro: Woba lodumo ngaphezu kwami. Ngizakuncengela nini lenceku zakho, lesizwe sakho, ukuchitha amaxoxo asuke kuwe lendlini zakho, asale emfuleni kuphela?
Moses [Drawn out] said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.”
10 Wasesithi: Kusasa. Wathi-ke: Njengelizwi lakho, ukuze wazi ukuthi kakho onjengeNkosi uNkulunkulu wethu.
He said, “Tomorrow.” He said, “Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God].
11 Njalo amaxoxo azasuka kuwe lezindlini zakho lezincekwini zakho lesizweni sakho, asale emfuleni kuphela.
The frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”
12 UMozisi loAroni basebephuma kuFaro. UMozisi wakhala eNkosini ngenxa yamaxoxo eyayiwabekile phezu kukaFaro.
Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] went out from Pharaoh, and Moses [Drawn out] cried to Adonai concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.
13 INkosi yenza-ke njengelizwi likaMozisi; amaxoxo asesifa ephuma ezindlini, emagumeni lemasimini.
Adonai did according to the word of Moses [Drawn out], and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.
14 Basebewabuthelela inqwaba ngenqwaba; lelizwe laba levumba.
They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.
15 Kodwa uFaro ebona ukuthi sekungcono, wenza inhliziyo yakhe yaba nzima, ukuthi kabalalelanga, njengokutsho kweNkosi.
But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· them, as Adonai had spoken.
16 INkosi yasisithi kuMozisi: Tshono kuAroni uthi: Yelula intonga yakho, utshaye uthuli lomhlaba, ukuze lube yimiyane elizweni lonke leGibhithe.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Tell Aaron [Light-bringer], ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].’”
17 Basebesenza njalo; ngoba uAroni welula isandla sakhe silentonga yakhe, watshaya uthuli lomhlaba; lemiyane yaba khona ebantwini lezifuyweni; lonke uthuli lwaba yimiyane elizweni lonke leGibhithe.
They did so; and Aaron [Light-bringer] stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].
18 Labalumbi benza njalo ngamalumbo abo ukuveza imiyane, kodwa babengeke. Ngakho imiyane yaba sebantwini lezifuyweni.
The magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn’t. There were lice on man, and on animal.
19 Labalumbi bathi kuFaro: Lokhu kungumunwe kaNkulunkulu. Kodwa inhliziyo kaFaro yaba lukhuni, kazabezwa, njengokutsho kweNkosi.
Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger:” and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· them; as Adonai had spoken.
20 INkosi yasisithi kuMozisi: Vuka ekuseni kakhulu, uzimise phambi kukaFaro; khangela uphuma esiya emanzini, njalo uthi kuye: Itsho njalo iNkosi: Yekela abantu bami bahambe bangikhonze.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Adonai says, “Let my people go, that they may abad ·serve· me.
21 Ngoba uba ungasiyekeli isizwe sami sihambe, khangela ngizathumela umtshitshi wezibawu kuwe lezincekwini zakho lesizweni sakho lendlini zakho; lezindlu zamaGibhithe zizagcwala umtshitshi wezibawu futhi lomhlabathi ezikuwo.
Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
22 Kodwa ngalolosuku ngizakwehlukanisa ilizwe leGosheni esihlala kulo isizwe sami, ukuthi kungabi khona lapho umtshitshi wezibawu, ukuze wazi ukuthi ngiyiNkosi phakathi kwelizwe.
I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen [Drawing near], in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Adonai on the earth.
23 Njalo ngizamisa umehluko phakathi kwesizwe sami lesizwe sakho; kusasa kuzakuba lesibonakaliso lesi.
I will put a division between my people and your people: by tomorrow shall this sign be.”’”
24 INkosi yasisenza njalo; kwasekufika umtshitshi onzima wezibawu endlini kaFaro lezindlini zezinceku zakhe lelizweni lonke leGibhithe; ilizwe lonakala ngenxa yomtshitshi wezibawu.
Adonai did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery] the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.
25 UFaro wasebabiza oMozisi loAroni, wathi: Hambani, lihlabele uNkulunkulu wenu kulelilizwe.
Pharaoh called for Moses [Drawn out] and for Aaron [Light-bringer], and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”
26 Kodwa uMozisi wathi: Kakulunganga ukwenza njalo, ngoba sizahlabela eNkosini uNkulunkulu wethu okunengekayo kwamaGibhithe; khangela, uba sihlaba okunengekayo kwamaGibhithe phambi kwamehlo awo, kawayikusikhanda ngamatshe yini?
Moses [Drawn out] said, “It is not appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] to Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] before their eyes, and won’t they stone us?
27 Sizahamba ummango wensuku ezintathu enkangala, sihlabele-ke iNkosi uNkulunkulu wethu njengoba izakutsho kithi.
We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God], as he has ordered us to do.”
28 UFaro wasesithi: Mina ngizaliyekela lihambe ukuthi lihlabele iNkosi uNkulunkulu wenu enkangala; kodwa lingayi khatshana kakhulu; lingincengele.
Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Adonai your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”
29 UMozisi wasesithi: Khangela, ngiyasuka kuwe, ngizayincenga iNkosi ukuze umtshitshi wezibawu usuke kuFaro, ezincekwini zakhe, lesizweni sakhe kusasa; kuphela uFaro angaphindi akhohlise ngokungayekeli isizwe sihambe, sihlabele iNkosi.
Moses [Drawn out] said, “Behold, I go out from you, and I will pray to Adonai that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Adonai.”
30 UMozisi wasephuma kuFaro, wayincenga iNkosi.
Moses [Drawn out] went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Adonai.
31 INkosi yasisenza njengelizwi likaMozisi; yasusa umtshitshi wezibawu kuFaro, ezincekwini zakhe lesizweni sakhe; kakusalanga lesisodwa.
Adonai did according to the word of Moses [Drawn out], and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.
32 Kodwa uFaro wenza inhliziyo yakhe yaba nzima langalesisikhathi, kayekelanga isizwe sihambe.
Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.
