UDutheronomi 4

1 Khathesi-ke, Israyeli, zwana izimiso lezahlulelo engilifundisa zona, ukuzenza, ukuze liphile, lingene lidle ilifa lelizwe iNkosi uNkulunkulu waboyihlo elinika lona.

And now O Israel listen to the statutes and to the judgments which I [am] about to teach you to observe so that you may live and you will go and you will take possession of the land which Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your [is] about to give to you.

2 Kaliyikwengezelela elizwini engililaya lona, lingaphunguli lutho kulo, ukuze ligcine imilayo yeNkosi uNkulunkulu wenu engililaya yona.

Not you must add to the word which I [am] about to command you and not you must diminish from it to keep [the] commandments of Yahweh God your which I [am] about to command you.

3 Amehlo enu abonile iNkosi eyakwenzayo ngenxa kaBhali-Peyori; ngoba wonke umuntu owalandela uBhali-Peyori, iNkosi uNkulunkulu wenu yambhubhisa phakathi kwenu;

Own eyes your [are] the [ones which] saw [that] which he did Yahweh at Baal Peor for every person who he walked after Baal Peor he destroyed him Yahweh God your from midst your.

4 kodwa lina elanamathela eNkosini uNkulunkulu wenu liyaphila lonke lamuhla.

And you who were clinging on Yahweh God your [are] alive all of you this day.

5 Bonani, ngilifundisile izimiso lezahlulelo, njengokungilaya kweNkosi uNkulunkulu wami, ukuthi lenze njalo phakathi kwelizwe eliya kulo ukudla ilifa lalo.

See - I have taught you statutes and judgments just as he commanded me Yahweh God my to do thus in [the] midst of the land where you [are] about to go there towards to take possession of it.

6 Ngakho zigcineni, lizenze; ngoba lokhu kuyinhlakanipho yenu lokuqedisisa kwenu emehlweni ezizwe ezizakuzwa zonke lezizimiso zithi: Isibili lesisizwe esikhulu singabantu abahlakaniphileyo labaqedisisayo.

And you will take care and you will observe [them] for that [will be] wisdom your and understanding your to [the] eyes of the peoples which they will hear! all the statutes these and they will say certainly [is] a people wise and understanding the nation great this.

7 Ngoba yisiphi isizwe esikhulu esilabonkulunkulu abaseduze laso njengeNkosi uNkulunkulu ekumbizeni kwethu konke?

For who? [is] a nation great which [belongs] to it a god near to it like Yahweh God our in all calling we to him.

8 Futhi yisiphi isizwe esikhulu esilezimiso lezahlulelo ezilungileyo njengalumlayo wonke engiwubeka phambi kwenu lamuhla?

And who? [is] a nation great which [belongs] to it statutes and judgments righteous like all the law this which I [am] setting before you this day.

9 Kuphela ziqaphele, ugcine kakhulu umphefumulo wakho, hlezi ukhohlwe izinto amehlo akho azibonileyo, njalo hlezi zisuke enhliziyweni yakho, zonke izinsuku zempilo yakho. Njalo uzazise abantwana bakho labantwana babantwana bakho,

Only take heed to yourself and guard self your exceedingly lest you should forget the things which they have seen eyes your and lest they should depart from heart your all [the] days of life your and you will make known them to children your and to [the] children of children your.

10 ukuthi ngosuku owema ngalo phambi kweNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho eHorebe, lapho iNkosi yathi kimi: Ngibuthanisela abantu ngibe sengibazwisa amazwi ami, ukuze bafunde ukungesaba zonke izinsuku abazaziphila emhlabeni, bafundise njalo abantwana babo.

[the] day When you stood before Yahweh God your at Horeb when said Yahweh to me assemble to me the people so I may make hear them words my that they will learn! to fear me all the days which they [will be] alive on the land and children their they will teach!

11 Laselisondela, lema ngaphansi kwentaba, lentaba yayivutha umlilo kwaze kwaba phakathi kwamazulu, lomnyama, amayezi, lomnyama onzima.

And you drew near! and you stood! under the mountain and the mountain [was] burning with fire to [the] heart of the heavens darkness cloud and thick darkness.

12 INkosi yasikhuluma kini iphakathi komlilo; lezwa ilizwi lamazwi, kodwa kalibonanga simo; ilizwi kuphela.

And he spoke Yahweh to you from [the] middle of the fire a sound of words you [were] hearing and a form not you [were] seeing except a voice.

13 Yamemezela kini isivumelwano sayo, eyalilaya ukuthi lisenze, imilayo elitshumi; njalo yayibhala ezibhebheni zamatshe ezimbili.

And he declared to you covenant his which he commanded you to observe [the] ten the words and he inscribed them on two tablets of stone.

14 INkosi yasingilaya ngalesosikhathi ukuthi ngilifundise izimiso lezahlulelo, ukuze lizenze elizweni elidlulela kulo ukudla ilifa lalo.

And me he commanded Yahweh at the time that to teach you statutes and judgments to observe you them in the land where you [are] about to pass over there towards to take possession of it.

15 Ngakho-ke qaphelani kakhulu ngenxa yemiphefumulo yenu. Ngoba kalibonanga lasimo ngosuku iNkosi ikhuluma kini eHorebe iphakathi komlilo,

And you will take heed exceedingly to selves your for not you saw any form on [the] day [when] he spoke Yahweh to you at Horeb from [the] middle of the fire.

16 hlezi lizone, lizenzele isithombe esibaziweyo, isimo saloba yiwuphi umfanekiso, isifanekiso sowesilisa loba sowesifazana,

Lest you should act corruptly! and you will make for yourselves an image of a form of any figure a likeness of a male or a female.

17 isifanekiso saloba yiyiphi inyamazana esemhlabeni, isifanekiso saloba yiyiphi inyoni elempiko ephapha emazulwini,

A likeness of any animal which [is] on the earth a likeness of any bird of wing which it flies in the heavens.

18 isifanekiso saloba yikuphi okuhuquzelayo emhlabeni, isifanekiso saloba yiyiphi inhlanzi esemanzini ngaphansi komhlaba.

A likeness of any creeping [thing] on the ground a likeness of any fish which [is] in the waters from under to the earth.

19 Futhi hlezi uphakamisele amehlo akho emazulwini, lapho ubona ilanga lenyanga lezinkanyezi, ibutho lonke lamazulu, uyengwe, ukukhothamele, ukukhonze, iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho ekwabele izizwe zonke ngaphansi kwamazulu wonke.

And lest you should lift up eyes your the heavens towards and you will see the sun and the moon and the stars all [the] host of the heavens and you will be drawn aside and you will bow down to them and you will serve them which he has assigned Yahweh God your them to all the peoples under all the heavens.

20 Kodwa lina iNkosi yalithatha, yalikhupha esithandweni sensimbi, eGibhithe, ukuze libe kuyo ngabantu belifa, njengalamuhla.

And you he took Yahweh and he brought out you from [the] furnace of iron from Egypt to become for him a people of inheritance as the day this.

21 Futhi iNkosi yangithukuthelela ngenxa yenu, yafunga ukuthi kangiyikuchapha iJordani, lokuthi kangiyikungena kulelolizwe elihle iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho ekunika lona libe yilifa.

And Yahweh he was angry with me on words your and he swore to not to pass over I the Jordan and to not to go into the land good which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you an inheritance.

22 Ngoba ngizafela kulelilizwe, ngingachaphi iJordani; kodwa lina lizachapha, lidle ilifa lalelolizwe elihle.

For I [am] about to die in the land this not I [am] about to pass over the Jordan and you [are] about to pass over and you will take possession of the land good this.

23 Ziqapheleni hlezi likhohlwe isivumelwano seNkosi uNkulunkulu wenu eyasenza lani, lizenzele isithombe esibaziweyo, umfanekiso waloba yikuphi iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho ekwenqabele khona.

Take heed to yourselves lest you should forget [the] covenant of Yahweh God your which he has made with you and you will make for yourselves an image a form of anything which he commanded you Yahweh God your.

24 Ngoba iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho ingumlilo oqothulayo, uNkulunkulu olobukhwele.

For Yahweh God your [is] a fire consuming he a God jealous.

25 Lapho uzala abantwana labantwana babantwana, njalo selihlale elizweni isikhathi eside, uba lisonakala, lenze isithombe esibaziweyo, umfanekiso waloba yikuphi, lenze okubi emehlweni eNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho ukuze liyithukuthelise,

For you will father children and children of children and you will grow old in the land and you will act corruptly and you will make an image of a form of anything and you will do the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh God your to provoke to anger him.

26 ngibiza amazulu lomhlaba lamuhla ukuze kufakaze kumelene lani ukuthi lizabhubha lokubhubha masinyane lisuka elizweni elichapha iJordani ukuya kilo ukuze libe yilifa lenu; kaliyikwelula insuku zenu phezu kwalo, ngoba lizabhujiswa lokubhujiswa.

I call as witnesses against you this day the heavens and the earth that certainly you will perish! quickly from on the land where you [are] about to pass over the Jordan there towards to take possession of it not you will prolong! days on it for utterly you will be destroyed!

27 Njalo iNkosi izalichithachitha phakathi kwezizwe, lisale libalutshwana ngenani phakathi kwezizwe, lapho iNkosi ezalixotshela khona.

And he will scatter Yahweh you among the peoples and you will be left men of number among the nations where he will drive away Yahweh you there towards.

28 Lapho lizakhonza onkulunkulu, umsebenzi wezandla zabantu, izigodo lamatshe, abangaboniyo, abangezwayo, abangadliyo, labanganukiyo.

And you will serve there gods [the] work of [the] hands of a human wood and stone which not they see! and not they hear! and not they eat! and not they smell!

29 Kodwa lilapho liyidinge iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho, uzayithola uba uyidinga ngenhliziyo yakho yonke langomphefumulo wakho wonke.

And you will seek from there Yahweh God your and you will find [him] for you will seek him with all heart your and with all being your.

30 Lapho usekuhluphekeni, lezizinto zonke zikwehlela, ekupheleni kwezinsuku, uzaphendukela eNkosini uNkulunkulu wakho, ulalele ilizwi layo;

When it is distress to you and they will come upon you all the things these at [the] end of the days and you will return to Yahweh God your and you will listen to voice his.

31 ngoba iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho inguNkulunkulu olomusa, kayiyikukutshiya, kayiyikukubhubhisa, kayiyikukhohlwa isivumelwano saboyihlo, eyasifunga kubo.

For [is] a God compassionate Yahweh God your not he will abandon you and not he will destroy you and not he will forget [the] covenant of ancestors your which he swore to them.

32 Ngoba buza-ke ngensuku zamandulo ezazingaphambi kwakho, kusukela osukwini uNkulunkulu adala ngalo umuntu emhlabeni, kusukela komunye umkhawulo wamazulu kuze kube komunye umkhawulo wamazulu, ukuthi kwake kwaba khona yini into enje njengale into enkulu, kumbe kwezwakala enjengayo yini?

That ask please to days former which they were before you from the day when he created God - humankind on the earth and to from [the] end of the heavens and to [the] end of the heavens ¿ has it happened like the thing great this or ¿ has it been heard like it.

33 Abantu bake bezwa yini ilizwi likaNkulunkulu likhuluma livela phakathi komlilo, njengalokhu ulizwile wena, waphila?

¿ Has it heard a people [the] voice of a god speaking from [the] middle of the fire just as you have heard you and has it lived?

34 Futhi uNkulunkulu wake wazama yini ukuyazithathela isizwe phakathi kwesizwe, ngezilingo, ngezibonakaliso, langezimangaliso, langempi, langesandla esilamandla, langengalo eyeluliweyo, langezesabiso ezinkulu, njengakho konke iNkosi uNkulunkulu wenu eyalenzela khona eGibhithe phambi kwamehlo akho?

Or - ¿ has it attempted a god to come to take for itself a nation from [the] midst of a nation by trials by signs and by wonders and by battle and by a hand strong and by an arm outstretched and by terrors great like all that he did for you Yahweh God your in Egypt to eyes your.

35 Wena wakutshengiswa, ukuze wazi ukuthi uJehova unguNkulunkulu; kakho omunye ngaphandle kwakhe.

You you were shown to know that Yahweh he [is] God there not [is] still more from to alone him.

36 Esemazulwini wakuzwisa ilizwi lakhe ukukufundisa; lemhlabeni wakutshengisa umlilo wakhe omkhulu, lamazwi akhe wawezwa evela phakathi komlilo.

From the heavens he caused to hear you voice his to discipline you and on the earth he showed you fire his great and words his you heard from [the] middle of the fire.

37 Njalo ngoba wabathanda oyihlo, wakhetha inzalo yabo emva kwabo, wakukhupha eGibhithe ebusweni bakhe ngamandla akhe amakhulu,

And because that he loved ancestors your and he chose offspring his after him and he brought out you by own presence his by power his great from Egypt.

38 ukuxotsha elifeni izizwe ezinkulu lezilamandla kulawe phambi kwakho, ukukungenisa, ukukupha ilizwe lazo, libe yilifa, njengalamuhla.

To dispossess nations great and mighty more than you from before you to bring in you to give to you land their an inheritance as the day this.

39 Ngakho yazi lamuhla, ukukhumbule enhliziyweni yakho ukuthi iNkosi inguNkulunkulu emazulwini phezulu, lemhlabeni phansi; kakho omunye.

And you will know this day and you will bring back to heart your that Yahweh he [is] God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath there not [is] still more.

40 Ngakho uzagcina izimiso zakhe lemilayo yakhe engikulaya yona lamuhla, ukuze kukulungele labantwana bakho emva kwakho, lokuze welule izinsuku phezu kwelizwe iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho ekunika lona, zonke izinsuku.

And you will keep statutes his and commandments his which I [am] commanding you this day that it will go well for you and for children your after you and so that you may prolong days on (the land *L(abh)*) which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you all the days.

41 Khona uMozisi wehlukanisa imizi emithathu nganeno kweJordani ngasempumalanga,

Then he set apart Moses three cities on [the] other side of the Jordan [the] rising of towards [the] sun.

42 ukuthi abalekele kuyo umbulali obulele umakhelwane wakhe kungeyisikho ngabomo, obengamzondi mandulo, ukuze abalekele komunye waleyomizi aphile;

To flee there towards a killer who he will kill neighbor his with no knowledge and he not [was] hating him from yesterday [the] third day and he will flee to one of the cities these and he will live.

43 iBezeri enkangala elizweni lamagceke, elabakoRubeni; leRamothi eGileyadi, elabakoGadi; leGolani eBashani, elabakoManase.

Bezer in the wilderness in [the] land of the plain for the Reubenite[s] and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadite[s] and Golan in Bashan for the Manassite[s].

44 Njalo yilo umlayo uMozisi awubeka phambi kwabantwana bakoIsrayeli.

And this [is] the law which he set Moses before [the] people of Israel.

45 Lobu yibufakazi lezimiso lezahlulelo uMozisi akukhuluma ebantwaneni bakoIsrayeli ekuphumeni kwabo eGibhithe,

These [are] the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments which he spoke Moses to [the] people of Israel when came out they from Egypt.

46 nganeno kweJordani, esigodini maqondana leBeti-Peyori, elizweni likaSihoni inkosi yamaAmori, owayehlala eHeshiboni, uMozisi labantwana bakoIsrayeli abamtshayayo ekuphumeni kwabo eGibhithe.

On [the] other side of the Jordan in the valley opposite to Beth Peor in [the] land of Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] who [was] dwelling in Heshbon whom he struck down Moses and [the] people of Israel when came out they from Egypt.

47 Basebesidla ilifa lelizwe lakhe lelizwe likaOgi inkosi yeBashani, amakhosi amabili amaAmori, ayenganeno kweJordani ngasempumalanga,

And they took possession of land his and [the] land of - Og [the] king of Bashan [the] two [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [was] on [the] other side of the Jordan [the] rising of [the] sun.

48 kusukela eAroweri esekhunjini lwesifula seArinoni, kuze kufike entabeni yeSiyoni, eyiHermoni,

From Aroer which [is] on [the] edge of [the] wadi of Arnon and to [the] mountain of Siyon that [is] Hermon.

49 lamagceke wonke nganeno kweJordani ngasempumalanga, kuze kube selwandle lwamagceke, ngaphansi kweAshidodi-Pisiga.

And all the Arabah [the] other side of the Jordan east-wards and to [the] sea of the Arabah under [the] slopes of Pisgah.
