2 Kwabasekhorinte 5

1 Ngoba siyazi ukuthi uba indlu yethu yemhlabeni yedumba idilizwa, silesakhiwo esivela kuNkulunkulu, indlu engenziwanga ngezandla, ephakade emazulwini. (aiōnios g166)

Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not made by human hands. (aiōnios g166)

2 Ngoba lakule siyabubula, silangatha ukwembeswa ngendlu yethu evela ezulwini;

For in this tent we groan, longing to be further clothed with our heavenly dwelling,

3 uba lathi sesembathisiwe singaficwa size.

because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

4 Ngoba lathi esikhona kulelidumba siyabubula, sisindwa; ngoba kasifisi ukwembulwa kodwa ukwembeswa, ukuze okufayo kuginywe yimpilo.

For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

5 Owasilungisela-ke khona lokhu nguNkulunkulu, futhi owasipha isibambiso sikaMoya.

Now he who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has also given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

6 Ngakho silesibindi ngesikhathi sonke, sisazi ukuthi sisekhona ekhaya emzimbeni sikhatshana leNkosi,

Therefore we have courage at all times, and we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.

7 ngoba sihamba ngokholo, kungeyisikho ngokubona;

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

8 ngakho silesibindi, njalo siyathaba kakhulu ukuba singabikho emzimbeni, lokuba sekhaya leNkosi.

Yes, we have courage and would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

9 Ngalokho-ke siyazama kakhulu, loba sisekhaya, kumbe singekho ekhaya, ukuthi sibe ngabemukelekayo kuye.

Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we aspire to be pleasing to him.

10 Ngoba sonke simele ukubonakala phambi kwesihlalo sokwahlulela sikaKristu, ukuze ngulowo lalowo azamukelele izinto ezenziwe ngomzimba, njengalokhu akwenzileyo, loba kuhle kumbe kubi.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive his due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

11 Ngakho sisazi ukwesabeka kweNkosi siyabancenga abantu, kodwa sibonakalisiwe kuNkulunkulu; njalo ngithemba ukuthi sibonakalisiwe lezazeleni zenu.

Therefore, because we know what it is to fear the Lord, we persuade others. What we are is known to God, and I hope that it is known in your consciences as well.

12 Ngoba kasizivezi futhi kini, kodwa silinika ithuba lokuzincoma ngathi, ukuze libe lakho ukumelana labo abazincomayo ebusweni, kungeyisikho enhliziyweni.

For we are not commending ourselves to you again, but we are giving you an opportunity to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearances and not about matters of the heart.

13 Ngoba uba sihlanya, kukuNkulunkulu; uba siqondile, kukini.

If we are out of our mind, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

14 Ngoba uthando lukaKristu luyasiqhubezela, sibona lokhu, ukuthi uba omunye wafela bonke, ngakho bonke bafa;

For the love of Christ compels us, because we have concluded that if one died for all, then all have died.

15 njalo wafela bonke ukuze abaphilayo bangabe besaziphilela bona, kodwa lowo owabafelayo wabuye wavuka.

And he died for all so that those who live may no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them and was raised.

16 Ngakho kusukela khathesi thina kasazi muntu ngokwenyama; lanxa lathi samazi uKristu ngokwenyama, kodwa khathesi kasisamazi.

So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, we no longer know him in that way.

17 Ukuze kuthi uba umuntu ekuKristu, uyisidalwa esitsha; okudala sekudlule, khangela konke sekukutsha.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

18 Konke lokhu-ke kuvela kuNkulunkulu, owabuyisana lathi ngoJesu Kristu kuye, wasinika inkonzo yokubuyisana;

And all these things are from God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

19 okunjengokuthi uNkulunkulu wayekuKristu ebuyisana lomhlaba kuye, engababaleli iziphambeko zabo, ebeka kithi ilizwi lokubuyisana.

namely, that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's trespasses against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

20 Ngakho siyizithunywa esikhundleni sikaKristu, njengokungathi uNkulunkulu uyancenga ngathi; siyancenga esikhundleni sikaKristu sithi: Buyisanani loNkulunkulu.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us. We plead on Christ's behalf: “Be reconciled to God.”

21 Ngoba lowo ongasazanga isono wamenza isono esikhundleni sethu, ukuze thina sibe yikulunga kukaNkulunkulu kuye.

For God made him who did not know sin to be a sin offering for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
