1 UJothamu wayeleminyaka engamatshumi amabili lanhlanu esiba yinkosi; wasebusa iminyaka elitshumi lesithupha eJerusalema. Lebizo likanina lalinguJerusha, indodakazi kaZadoki.
Jotham was twenty-five when he became king, and he reigned in for Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother's name was Jerushah, daughter of Zadok.
2 Wasesenza okuqondileyo emehlweni eNkosi njengokwenza konke kukaUziya uyise; kodwa kangenanga ethempelini leNkosi; labantu babelokhu besenza ngokonakala.
He did what was right in the Lord's sight as his father Uzziah had done, and he did not enter the Lord's Temple as his father had. But the people still acted corruptly.
3 Yena wakha isango eliphezulu lendlu yeNkosi, wakha okunengi emdulini weOfeli.
Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the Lord's Temple, and did extensive building work on the wall at Ophel.

He built towns in the hill country of Judah, and fortresses and towers in the mountains and forests.
5 Yena wesesilwa lenkosi yabantwana bakoAmoni, wabanqoba; abantwana bakoAmoni basebemnika ngalowomnyaka amathalenta esiliva alikhulu, lamakhori engqoloyi azinkulungwane ezilitshumi, lezinkulungwane ezilitshumi zebhali. Lokhu abantwana bakoAmoni bakubuyisela kuye, langomnyaka wesibili langowesithathu.
Jotham fought with the king of the Ammonites and defeated them. The Ammonites gave him every year for three years one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand cors of wheat and ten thousand of barley.
6 Ngokunjalo uJothamu waziqinisa, ngoba walungisa izindlela zakhe phambi kweNkosi uNkulunkulu wakhe.
Jotham grew powerful because he made sure what he did followed the ways of the Lord his God.
7 Ezinye-ke zezindaba zikaJothamu, lazo zonke izimpi zakhe, lezindlela zakhe, khangela, zibhaliwe egwalweni lwamakhosi akoIsrayeli lawakoJuda.

Jotham died and was buried in the City of David. His son Ahaz took over as king.
