1 Lami-ke, bazalwane, bengingelakukhuluma lani njengabakomoya, kodwa njengakwabakwenyama, njengakwabayizingane kuKristu.

I, therefore, brethren, have not been able to speak unto you, as unto men of the Spirit, but as unto men of the flesh—as unto babes in Christ: —

2 Ngalinathisa uchago, kungeyisikho ukudla okuqinileyo; ngoba belingakenelisi, yebo lakhathesi kalikenelisi;

With milk, have I fed you, not, with meat; for, not yet, have ye been able; —nay! not [yet] even now, are ye able,

3 ngoba lisengabenyama; ngoba lokhu kukhona phakathi kwenu umhawu lokuphikisana lokwehlukana, kalisibo abenyama, lihamba ngokwabantu yini?

For ye are yet fleshly. For, whereas there are, among you, jealousy and strife, are ye not, fleshly, and, after the manner of men, walking?

4 Ngoba nxa omunye esithi: Mina ngingokaPawuli, lomunye athi: Mina okaApolosi, kalisibo yini abenyama?

For, as soon as one beginneth to say—I, indeed, am of Paul! and another—I, of Apollos! are ye not, men?

5 Kanti uPawuli uyini, loApolosi uyini, kodwa izisebenzi elakholwa ngazo, lanjengoba iNkosi yanika kulowo lalowo?

What then is Apollos? and, what is Paul? ministers through whom ye believed, and, each, as the Lord, gave to him.

6 Mina ngahlanyela, uApolosi wathelela, kodwa uNkulunkulu wakhulisa.

I, planted, Apollos, watered, —but, God, caused to, grow.

7 Ngakho ohlanyelayo kasilutho, loba othelelayo, kodwa uNkulunkulu okhulisayo.

So that, [neither] is he that planteth anything, nor, he that watereth, —but, God, who causeth to, grow.

8 Ohlanyelayo kanye lothelelayo banye; kodwa ngulowo lalowo uzakwemukela owakhe umvuzo njengowakhe umsebenzi.

Moreover, he that planteth and he that watereth, are one: —howbeit, each one, his own reward, shall receive, —according to his own labour.

9 Ngoba siyizisebenzi zikaNkulunkulu kanye laye; liyinsimu kaNkulunkulu, liyisakhiwo sikaNkulunkulu.

For we are, God’s, fellow-workmen: ye are, God’s, farm, God’s building.

10 Ngokomusa kaNkulunkulu engiwuphiweyo, njengomakhi omkhulu ohlakaniphileyo ngabeka isisekelo, lomunye wakha phezu kwaso. Kodwa kakube ngulowo lalowo abone ukuthi wakha njani phezu kwaso.

According to the favour of God which hath been given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I laid a foundation, whereas, another, is building thereon; but, let each one, see, how he buildeth thereon;

11 Ngoba akulamuntu ongabeka esinye isisekelo ngaphandle kwaleso esibekiweyo, esinguJesu Kristu.

For, other foundation, can, no one, lay, than that which is lying, which is, Jesus Christ.

12 Kodwa uba umuntu esakhela phezu kwalesisisekelo igolide, isiliva, amatshe aligugu, izigodo, utshani, inhlanga,

But, if anyone is building, upon the foundation—gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,

13 umsebenzi walowo lalowo uzavela obala; ngoba usuku luzawudalula, ngoba luzavezwa emlilweni; umlilo uzahlola umsebenzi walowo lalowo ukuthi unjani.

Each one’s work, shall be made, manifest; for, the day, will make it plain, because, by fire, is it to be revealed, —and, each one’s work, of what sort it is, the fire itself will prove: —

14 Uba umsebenzi womuntu awakhe phezulu usima, uzakwemukela umvuzo.

If, anyone’s work, shall abide, which he built, a reward, shall he receive, —

15 Uba umsebenzi womuntu uzatshiswa, uzalahlekelwa; kodwa yena uqobo ezasindiswa, kodwa ngokunjalo njengangomlilo.

If, anyone’s work, shall be burnt up, he shall suffer loss, but shall, himself, be saved—though, thus, as through fire.

16 Kalazi yini ukuthi lilithempeli likaNkulunkulu, lokuthi uMoya kaNkulunkulu uhlala kini?

Know ye not that ye are a shrine of God, and that the Spirit of God within you doth dwell?

17 Uba umuntu echitha ithempeli likaNkulunkulu, uNkulunkulu uzamchitha yena; ngoba ithempeli likaNkulunkulu lingcwele, eliyilo lina.

If anyone doth mar the shrine of God, God, will mar him; for the shrine of God is holy, —and such are ye.

18 Kakungabi khona ozikhohlisayo; uba umuntu phakathi kwenu ecabanga ukuthi uhlakaniphile kulumhlaba, kumele abe yisithutha, ukuze ahlakaniphe. (aiōn g165)

Let no one be deceiving himself: —if anyone imagineth himself to be wise among you, in this age, let him become foolish, that he may become wise; (aiōn g165)

19 Ngoba inhlakanipho yalumhlaba iyibuthutha kuNkulunkulu. Ngoba kulotshiwe ukuthi: Ubamba abahlakaniphileyo ebuqilini babo;

For, the wisdom of this world, is, foolishness with God; for it is written—He that taketh the wise in their knavery, —

20 njalo lokuthi: INkosi iyayazi imicabango yabahlakaniphileyo, ukuthi iyize.

And again—The Lord taketh note of the speculations of the wise, that they are vain.

21 Ngakho kakungabi khona ozincoma ngabantu; ngoba zonke izinto ngezenu,

So then, let, no one, be boasting in men; for, all things, are yours—

22 loba uPawuli, loba uApolosi, loba uKefasi, loba umhlaba, loba impilo, loba ukufa, loba izinto ezikhona, loba izinto ezizayo; konke ngokwenu,

Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come, all, are, yours,

23 lina-ke lingabakaKristu, loKristu ungokaNkulunkulu.

And, ye, are Christ’s, —and, Christ, is, God’s.
