1 Maqondana-ke lezipho zomoya, bazalwane, kangithandi ukuthi lingazi.

But, concerning the spiritually gifted, brethren, I am not wishing you to be ignorant.

2 Lazi ukuthi lalingabezizwe ladonselwa ezithombeni eziyizimungulu, njengelikhokhelwayo.

Ye know that, when ye were of the nations, unto the dumb idols, howsoever ye were being led, ye were seduced.

3 Ngakho ngiyalazisa, ukuthi kakho umuntu okhuluma ngoMoya kaNkulunkulu othi: UJesu uyisiqalekiso; futhi kakho umuntu ongathi: UJesu uyiNkosi, ngaphandle ngoMoya oNgcwele.

Wherefore, I give you to know—that, no one, in God’s Spirit speaking, saith—Accursed Jesus! and, no one, can say—Lord Jesus! save in [the] Holy Spirit.

4 Kukhona-ke izipho ezehlukeneyo, kodwa uMoya munye.

But, distributions of gifts, there are, yet the same Spirit,

5 Njalo kukhona inkonzo ezehlukeneyo, kodwa iNkosi yinye.

And, distributions of ministries, there are, and the same Lord,

6 Kukhona-ke imisebenzi eyehlukeneyo, kodwa nguNkulunkulu munye, osebenza konke kubo bonke.

And, distributions of energies, there are, and the same God—who energiseth all things in all.

7 Kodwa ngulowo lalowo uphiwa ukubonakalisa kukaMoya kulokho okulusizo.

But, unto each one, is given the manifesting of the Spirit, with a view to that which is profitable;

8 Ngoba omunye uphiwa ngoMoya ilizwi lenhlakanipho, lakomunye ilizwi lolwazi, ngoMoya munye;

For, unto one, indeed, through the Spirit, is given, a word of wisdom, but, unto another, a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; —

9 lakomunye ukholo, ngoMoya munye; lakomunye izipho zokusilisa, ngoMoya munye;

Unto a different one, faith, in the same Spirit, and, unto another, gifts of healings, in the one Spirit,

10 lakomunye ukusebenza imisebenzi yamandla, lakomunye isiprofetho, lakomunye ukwehlukanisa imimoya, lakomunye inhlobo yendimi, lakomunye ukuchasisa indimi;

And, unto another, energies of mighty works, [and], unto another, prophesying, [and], unto another, discriminations of spirits, —unto a different one, kinds of tongues, and, unto another, translation of tongues; —

11 kodwa konke lokho lowoMoya munye uyakusebenza, ebabela ngulowo lalowo ngamunye njengokuthanda kwakhe.

But, all these, energiseth the one and the same Spirit, distributing unto each one, peculiarly, even as it is disposed.

12 Ngoba njengoba umzimba umunye, njalo ulezitho ezinengi, kodwa zonke izitho zalowomzimba munye, zizinengi, zingumzimba munye; kunjalo-ke loKristu;

For, just as, the body, is one, and yet hath many members, but, all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so, also, the Christ; —

13 ngoba ngoMoya munye lathi sonke sabhabhathizelwa emzimbeni munye, loba amaJuda loba amaGriki, loba izigqili loba abakhululekileyo; futhi thina sonke sanathiswa kuMoya munye.

For, even to one Spirit, we all, into one body, have been immersed, —whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free, —and, all, of one Spirit, have been caused to drink.

14 Ngoba umzimba lawo kawusiso isitho sinye kodwa ezinengi.

For, the body also, is not one member, but many:

15 Uba unyawo lungathi: Lokhu ngingesisandla, kangisikho okomzimba; kungeyisikho ngalokho kakusilo olomzimba yini?

Though the foot should say—Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body, Is it, therefore, not, of the body?

16 Uba-ke indlebe ingathi: Lokhu ngingesilo ilihlo, kangisikho okomzimba; ngenxa yalokho kayisiyo yini eyomzimba?

And, though the ear should say—Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body, Is it, therefore, not, of the body?

17 Uba umzimba wonke ubuyilihlo, ngabe kungaphi ukuzwa? Uba wonke ubuyikuzwa, ngabe kungaphi ukunuka?

If, the whole body, were, an eye, where were the hearing? If, the whole were, hearing, where were, the smelling?

18 Kodwa khathesi-ke uNkulunkulu umisile izitho, yileso laleso sazo, emzimbeni, njengokuthanda kwakhe.

But, now, hath God set the members, each one of them in the body, even as he pleased.

19 Kodwa uba zonke beziyisitho sinye, umzimba ngabe ungaphi?

But, if they all had been one member, Where had been, the body?

20 Kodwa khathesi izitho zinengi, kodwa umzimba munye.

Now, however there are many members, yet one body;

21 Ilihlo-ke lingeke latsho esandleni ukuthi: Kangikusweli. Kumbe futhi ikhanda ezinyaweni ukuthi: Kangilisweli;

[And] the eye cannot say unto the hand—I have no need of thee, —nor, again, the head, unto the feet—I have no need of you: —

22 kodwa kakhulukazi izitho zomzimba ezikhangeleka zibuthakathaka kakhulu, ziyadingeka;

Nay! much more, the members which seem to be weaker are necessary,

23 lalezo ezomzimba esicabanga ukuthi zidelelekile kakhulu, yizo esizihlonipha ngokwengezelelwe kakhulu; lalezo ezethu ezingezinhle zilobuhle obengezelelwe kakhulu;

And, the parts of the body which we deem to be less honourable, on these, more abundant honour, do we bestow, and, our uncomely parts, have, more abundant comeliness,

24 kanti ezinhle zethu kazikusweli; kodwa uNkulunkulu wawuhlanganisa umzimba, enika udumo olwengezelelwe kakhulu kwesikuswelayo,

Whereas, our comely parts, have, no need. But, God, hath tempered the body together, —unto that which was lacking, giving more abundant honour; —

25 ukuze kungabi khona ukwehlukana emzimbeni, kodwa izitho zinanzelelane ngokufananayo.

That there might be no division in the body, but that the members might have, the same, care, one for another;

26 Uba-ke kuhlupheka isitho sinye, izitho zonke zihlupheka kanye laso; uba kudunyiswa isitho sinye, izitho zonke ziyajabula kanye laso.

And, whether one member, suffereth, all the members, suffer with it, or, a member is glorified, all the members, rejoice together.

27 Lina-ke lingumzimba kaKristu, lezitho ngamunye ngamunye.

Now, ye, are the body of Christ, and members severally; —

28 Njalo uNkulunkulu umisile abathile ebandleni, kuqala abaphostoli, okwesibili abaprofethi, okwesithathu abafundisi, besekusiba imisebenzi yamandla, besekusiba izipho zokusilisa, izenzo ezisizayo, ubukhokheli, indimi ezehlukeneyo.

And God hath, indeed, set, certain, in the assembly, —first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that mighty works, then gifts of healings, helps, guidings, kinds of tongues.

29 Bonke bangabaphostoli yini? Bonke bangabaprofethi yini? Bonke bangabafundisi yini? Bonke benza imisebenzi yamandla yini?

Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all mighty works?

30 Bonke balezipho zokusilisa yini? Bonke bakhuluma ngendimi yini? Bonke bayachasisa yini?

Have, all, gifts of healings? Do, all, with tongues, speak? Do, all, translate?

31 Kodwa fisani kakhulu izipho ezingcono. Njalo ngisalitshengisa indlela engcono kakhulukazi.

Be envious, however, of the greater gifts; and, yet, a much more excellent way, unto you, I point out: —
