1 Njalo amadodana kaRubeni, izibulo likaIsrayeli (ngoba wayelizibulo, kodwa njengoba wayengcolise umbheda kayise, ubuzibulo bakhe banikwa amadodana kaJosefa indodana kaIsrayeli; futhi wayengabhalwanga njengezibulo;
And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, for, he, was the firstborn, but because he defiled the couch of his father, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, —and he is not to be enrolled in the place of firstborn,
2 ngoba uJuda wayelamandla kulabafowabo, lowayengumbusi wavela kuye, kodwa ubuzibulo babungobukaJosefa).
for, Judah, prevailed over his brethren, so that, even the prince, is from him, —although, the birthright, pertaineth to Joseph;
3 Amadodana kaRubeni, izibulo likaIsrayeli: OHanoki, loPalu, uHezironi, loKarmi.
the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
4 Amadodana kaJoweli: UShemaya indodana yakhe, uGogi indodana yakhe, uShimeyi indodana yakhe,
The sons of Joel, Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son;
5 uMika indodana yakhe, uReyaya indodana yakhe, uBhali indodana yakhe,
Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son;
6 uBehera indodana yakhe, uTiligathi-Pilineseri inkosi yeAsiriya eyamthumbayo; wayeyisiphathamandla sabakoRubeni.
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive, —he, was a leader to the Reubenites;
7 Njalo abafowabo ngensendo zabo, lapho bebhalwa ngokwezizukulwana zabo, bayizinhloko: OJeyiyeli, loZekhariya,
and his brethren, by his families, in the genealogical registering, by their generations, —the chief Jeiel, and Zechariah;
8 loBhela indodana kaAzazi indodana kaShema indodana kaJoweli, owayehlala eAroweri, njalo kwaze kwaba seNebo leBhali-Meyoni.
and Bela, the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, —he, dwelt in Aroer, even as far as Nebo, and Baal-meon;
9 Langempumalanga wahlala kwaze kwaba sekungeneni kwenkangala kusukela emfuleni iYufrathi, ngoba izifuyo zabo zasezandile elizweni leGileyadi.
and, eastward, dwelt he as far as the entering in of the desert, from the river Euphrates, —because, their cattle, were multiplied in the land of Gilead;
10 Ensukwini zikaSawuli balawula-ke impi lamaHagari, awa ngesandla sabo; bahlala emathenteni awo elizweni lonke lempumalanga yeGileyadi.
and, in the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, —so they dwelt in their tents, over all the face of the land east of Gilead.
11 Labantwana bakoGadi bahlala maqondana labo elizweni leBashani kwaze kwaba seSaleka.
And, the sons of Gad, over against them, dwelt, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:
12 UJoweli inhloko, loShafamu owesibili, loJanayi loShafati eBashani.
Joel the chief, and Shapham, the second, —and Janai and Shaphat, in Bashan;
13 Labafowabo ngendlu yaboyise: OMikayeli loMeshulamu loShebha loJorayi loJakani loZiya loEberi, beyisikhombisa.
and their brethren of their ancestral house, Michael and Meshullam and Sheba and Jorai and Jacan and Zia and Eber, seven.
14 Laba babengamadodana kaAbihayili indodana kaHuri indodana kaJarowa indodana kaGileyadi indodana kaMikayeli indodana kaJeshishayi indodana kaJahido indodana kaBuzi.
These, were the sons of Abihail, son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jehishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz,
15 UAhi indodana kaAbidiyeli indodana kaGuni wayeyinhloko yendlu yaboyise.
Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, chief of their ancestral house;
16 Basebehlala eGileyadi, eBashani, lemizaneni yayo, lakuwo wonke amadlelo eSharoni, kwaze kwaba sekuphumeni kwawo.
and they dwelt in Gilead—in Bashan, and in her villages, —and in all the pasture-lands of Sharon, up to their outgoings.
17 Bonke laba babhalwa ngezizukulwana zabo ezinsukwini zikaJothamu inkosi yakoJuda lensukwini zikaJerobhowamu inkosi yakoIsrayeli.
All of them, were genealogically registered in the days of Jotham king of Judah, —and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 Amadodana kaRubeni labakoGadi lengxenye yesizwe sakoManase, emadodeni angamaqhawe, athwala isihlangu lenkemba, anyathela idandili, lezingcitshi empini, ayeyizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amane lane lamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi ayisithupha, ephumela ebuthweni.
the sons of Reuben and Gad, and half tribe of Manasseh, of the sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword and bending the bow, and instructed in war, were forty-four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, ready to go forth in the host.
19 Basebelawula impi lamaHagari loJeturi loNafishi loNodabi.
So they made war with the Hagrites, —and Jetur and Naphish, and Nodab;
20 Bancediswa bemelene labo, amaHagari asenikelwa esandleni sabo, labo bonke ababelawo; ngoba bakhala kuNkulunkulu besempini, wasencengeka ngabo, ngoba bamthemba.
and were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all that were with them were delivered into their hand, —for, unto God, made they outcry, in the war, and he suffered himself to be entreated by them, because they put their trust in him;
21 Bathumba izifuyo zabo, amakamela azinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amahlanu, lezimvu ezizinkulungwane ezingamakhulu amabili lamatshumi amahlanu, labobabhemi abazinkulungwane ezimbili, lemiphefumulo yabantu ezinkulungwane ezilikhulu.
and they captured their cattle—their camels, fifty thousand, and, flocks, two hundred and fifty thousand, and, asses, two thousand, —and, persons of men, a hundred thousand;
22 Ngoba kwawa abanengi ababuleweyo, ngoba impi yayingekaNkulunkulu. Basebehlala ezindaweni zabo kwaze kwafika ukuthunjwa.
for, many slain, fell, for, of God, was the war, —and they dwelt in their stead, until the captivity.
23 Abantwana bengxenye yesizwe sakoManase basebehlala elizweni; kusukela eBashani kusiya eBhali-Hermoni leSeniri lentabeni yeHermoni bona banda.
And, the sons of the half tribe of Manasseh, dwelt in the land, —from Bashan, as far as to Baal-hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon, they, were multiplied.
24 Lalezi zinhloko zendlu yaboyise, ngitsho oEferi loIshi loEliyeli loAziriyeli loJeremiya loHodaviya loJahidiyeli, amadoda angamaqhawe alamandla, amadoda alamabizo, inhloko zendlu yaboyise.
And, these, were the heads of their ancestral house, —Epher and Ishi and Eliel and Azriel and Jeremiah and Hodaviah and Jahdiel, men who were heroes of valour, men of renown, chiefs to their ancestral house.
25 Kodwa bona kuNkulunkulu waboyise, baphinga ngokulandela onkulunkulu babantu balelolizwe, uNkulunkulu abachithayo phambi kwabo.
But they dealt unfaithfully with the God of their fathers, —and went unchastely after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed from before them;
26 Ngakho uNkulunkulu kaIsrayeli wavusa umoya kaPhuli inkosi yeAsiriya, lomoya kaTiligathi-Pilineseri inkosi yeAsiriya, wabathumba, ngitsho abakoRubeni labakoGadi lengxenye yesizwe sakoManase, wabasa eHala leHabori leHara lemfuleni iGozani, kuze kube lamuhla.
so the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he took them away captive, even the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh, —and brought them in unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
