Amahubo 63
1 Ihubo likaDavida eseNkangala yakoJuda. Oh Nkulunkulu, unguNkulunkulu wami, ngiyakudinga ngitshiseka; umphefumulo wami uyakomela, umzimba wami uyakudinga, elizweni elomileyo eseligugile lapho okungelamanzi khona.
“A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.” O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry land, and it is faint without water.
2 Ngikubonile endlini Yakho engcwele ngawabona amandla Akho lenkazimulo Yakho.
As I have beheld thee in the sanctuary, seeing thy strength and thy glory;
3 Ngoba uthando Lwakho lungcono kulempilo, izindebe zami zizakutsho inkazimulo Yakho.
Because thy kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee:
4 Ngizakudumisa kokuphela nxa ngisaphila, ngebizo lakho ngizaphakamisa izandla zami.
Thus will I bless thee while I live; in thy name will I lift up my hands.
5 Umphefumulo wami uzasuthiswa ngokudla okuhle okuphilisayo; ngezindebe ezihlabelayo umlomo wami uzakudumisa.
As with fat and marrow will my soul be satisfied; and with tuneful lips shall my mouth praise thee.
6 Ngisembhedeni wami ngiyakhumbula; ngiyakukhumbula lanxa ngisemlindweni wasebusuku.
When I remember thee upon my couch, I meditate on thee in the night-watches.
7 Ngoba ulusizo lwami, ngiyahlabelela ngisemthunzini wamaphiko Akho.
Because thou hast been a help unto me; and in the shadow of thy wings will I sing rejoicingly.
8 Umphefumulo wami unamathele Kuwe; isandla sakho sokunene siyangisekela.
My soul cleaveth unto following thee: me thy right hand upholdeth.
9 Labo abazingela impilo yami bazabhujiswa; bazakwehlela phansi ekujuleni komhlabathi.
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go down into the lowest deeps of the earth.
10 Bazakwabelwa ukudliwa yinkemba babe yikudla kwamakhanka.
They shall be delivered up to the power of the sword: they shall become a prey for jackals.
11 Kodwa inkosi izathokoza kuNkulunkulu; bonke abafunga ngebizo likaNkulunkulu bazamdumisa, ikanti imilomo yabaqamba amanga izathuliswa.
But the king shall rejoice in God: every one that sweareth by him shall glorify himself; for the mouth of those that speak falsehood shall be stopped.
