1 Kumqondisi wokuhlabela. Itshuni ethi, “Ungabhidlizi.” ElikaDavida. Imikithamu. Ngesikhathi ebalekele uSawuli wacatsha ebhalwini. Woba lesihawu kimi, Oh Nkulunkulu, woba lomusa kimi, ngoba umphefumulo wami uphelela kuwe. Ngizaphephela ethunzini lamaphiko akho kuze kudlule incithakalo le.
Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusts in you: yea, in the shadow of your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities pass over.
2 Ngiyakhala kuNkulunkulu oPhezukonke, kuNkulunkulu ogcwalisa isimiso sakhe ngami.
I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performs all things for me.
3 Uyathumela esezulwini angisindise, abakhwazele labo abafuna ukungilimaza. UNkulunkulu uyehlisa uthando lwakhe lokwethembeka kwakhe.
He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. (Selah) God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.
4 Ngiphakathi kwezilwane; ngilala phakathi kwezilo eziqholozayo abantu abamazinyo abo yimikhonto lemitshoko, abanlimi zabo zinkemba ezibukhali.
My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Mawuphakanyiswe, Oh Nkulunkulu, ngaphezu kwamazulu; akuthi inkazimulo yakho ibesemhlabeni wonke.
Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be above all the earth.
6 Bangithiya ngamambule ezinyaweni ngaphela amandla ngokudabuka. Bangimbela igodi endleleni kodwa sebewele kulo bona.
They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have dug a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. (Selah)
7 Inhliziyo yami ibambelele, kayiguquki Oh Nkulunkulu, inhliziyo yami ibambelele; ngizahlabela ngenze iculo elimnandi.
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Vuka, mphefumulo wami! Vukani, chacho lomqangala! Ngizayivusa intathakusa.
Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9 Ngizakudumisa, Oh Thixo, phakathi kwezizwe; ngizahlabela ngawe phakathi kwabantu.
I will praise you, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto you among the nations.
10 Ngoba lukhulu uthando lwakho, lufika emazulwini; ukuthembeka kwakho kufinyelela esibhakabhakeni.
For your mercy is great unto the heavens, and your truth unto the clouds.
11 Mawuphakanyiswe, Oh Nkulunkulu, ngaphezulu kwamazulu; akuthi inkazimulo yakho ibesemhlabeni wonke.
