1 Kumqondisi wokuhlabela. Itshuni ethi, “Ungabhidlizi.” ElikaDavida. Imikithamu. Ngesikhathi ebalekele uSawuli wacatsha ebhalwini. Woba lesihawu kimi, Oh Nkulunkulu, woba lomusa kimi, ngoba umphefumulo wami uphelela kuwe. Ngizaphephela ethunzini lamaphiko akho kuze kudlule incithakalo le.
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in thee. Yea, in the shadow of thy wings I will take refuge until calamities be passed by.
2 Ngiyakhala kuNkulunkulu oPhezukonke, kuNkulunkulu ogcwalisa isimiso sakhe ngami.
I will cry to God Most High, to God who performs for me.
3 Uyathumela esezulwini angisindise, abakhwazele labo abafuna ukungilimaza. UNkulunkulu uyehlisa uthando lwakhe lokwethembeka kwakhe.
He will send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him who would swallow me up. (Selah) God will send forth his loving kindness and his truth.
4 Ngiphakathi kwezilwane; ngilala phakathi kwezilo eziqholozayo abantu abamazinyo abo yimikhonto lemitshoko, abanlimi zabo zinkemba ezibukhali.
My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Mawuphakanyiswe, Oh Nkulunkulu, ngaphezu kwamazulu; akuthi inkazimulo yakho ibesemhlabeni wonke.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, thy glory above all the earth.
6 Bangithiya ngamambule ezinyaweni ngaphela amandla ngokudabuka. Bangimbela igodi endleleni kodwa sebewele kulo bona.
They have prepared a net for my steps. My soul is bowed down. They have dug a pit before me. They are fallen into the midst of it themselves. (Selah)
7 Inhliziyo yami ibambelele, kayiguquki Oh Nkulunkulu, inhliziyo yami ibambelele; ngizahlabela ngenze iculo elimnandi.
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed. I will sing, yea, I will sing praises.
8 Vuka, mphefumulo wami! Vukani, chacho lomqangala! Ngizayivusa intathakusa.
Awake up, my glory. Awake, psaltery and harp. I myself will awake right early.
9 Ngizakudumisa, Oh Thixo, phakathi kwezizwe; ngizahlabela ngawe phakathi kwabantu.
I will give thanks to thee, O Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to thee among the nations.
10 Ngoba lukhulu uthando lwakho, lufika emazulwini; ukuthembeka kwakho kufinyelela esibhakabhakeni.
For thy loving kindness is great to the heavens, and thy truth to the skies.
11 Mawuphakanyiswe, Oh Nkulunkulu, ngaphezulu kwamazulu; akuthi inkazimulo yakho ibesemhlabeni wonke.
