Amahubo 20

1 Kumqondisi wokuhlabela. Ihubo likaDavida. Sengathi uThixo angakuphendula nxa usenkathazweni; sengathi ibizo likaNkulunkulu kaJakhobe lingakuvikela.

“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;

2 Sengathi angakuthumela usizo luvela endlini engcwele njalo akunike ukuhlomulela kuvela eZiyoni.

May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;

3 Sengathi angakhumbula yonke imihlatshelo yakho njalo emukele iminikelo yakho yokutshiswa.

May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)

4 Sengathi angakupha isifiso senhliziyo yakho enze izimiso zakho zonke ziphumelele.

May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.

5 Sizamemeza ngokujabula lapho usunqobile, siphakamise uphawu lwethu egameni likaNkulunkulu wethu. Sengathi uThixo angakupha zonke izicelo zakho.

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

6 Manje sengisazi ukuthi uThixo uyamhlenga ogcotshiweyo wakhe; uyamphendula esezulwini lakhe elingcwele ngamandla Akhe asindisayo awesandla Sakhe sokunene.

Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Abanye bathemba izinqola zempi, abanye amabhiza, kodwa thina sithemba ibizo likaThixo uNkulunkulu wethu.

Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.

8 Bafuqelwa phansi bawe, kodwa thina siyaphakama sime sigxile.

They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.

9 Oh Thixo, sindisa inkosi! Sabela lapho simemeza!

O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].
