1 Dumisani uThixo. Dumisa uThixo mphefumulo wami.

Hallelujah. Praise, O my soul, the Lord.

2 Ngizamdumisa uThixo impilo yami yonke; ngizahlabela indumiso kuNkulunkulu wami nxa ngisaphila.

I will praise the Lord throughout my life: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

3 Lingabeki ithemba lenu emakhosini, ebantwini benyama, abangeke basindise.

Put not your trust in princes, in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

4 Kuthi umoya wabo ungaphuma, babuyele emhlabathini; mhlalokho nje amacebo ahle abhidlike.

When his spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his [native] earth: on that very day perish his thoughts.

5 Ubusisiwe lowo osizo lwakhe lunguNkulunkulu kaJakhobe, othemba lakhe likuThixo uNkulunkulu wakhe.

[But] happy is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is on the Lord his God;

6 UnguMenzi wamazulu lomhlaba, ulwandle lakho konke okulapho: uThixo owala elokhu ethembekile laphakade.

Who hath made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

7 Uyabalwela abancindezelwayo anike abalambileyo ukudla. UThixo ukhulula izibotshwa,

Who executeth justice for the oppressed: who giveth bread to the hungry: the Lord looseneth the prisoners;

8 uThixo wenza iziphofu zibone, uThixo uyabaphakamisa labo asebebhazalele, uThixo uthanda abalungileyo.

The Lord causeth the blind to see; the Lord raiseth up those who are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous:

9 UThixo uyabalinda abezizweni asekele izintandane labafelokazi, kodwa anyampise izindlela zababi.

The Lord guardeth the strangers; the fatherless and widow he helpeth up; but the way of the wicked he maketh crooked.

10 UThixo uyabusa nini lanini, uNkulunkulu wakho, wena Ziyoni, ezizukulwaneni zonke. Dumisani uThixo.

The Lord will reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah.
