1 Ihubo likaDavida Oh Thixo, zwana umkhuleko wami, zwana ukukhala kwami ngicela umusa; ngokuthembeka kwakho langokulunga kwakho woza uzongiphumuza.
A Melody of David. O Yahweh, hear my prayer, Give ear to my supplications, In thy faithfulness, answer me, in thy righteousness.
2 Ungangenisi inceku yakho ekwahlulelweni, ngoba kakho ophilayo ongabe ulungile kuwe.
Do not then enter into judgment with thy servant, for no one living, can appear just before thee.
3 Isitha siyangizingela, singincindezela phansi emhlabathini; singenza ngihlale emnyameni njengalabo abafa kudala.
For an enemy hath pursued my soul, hath crushed, to the earth, my life, hath made me dwell in dark places, like the ancient dead.
4 Kanjalo umphefumulo wami uyaphela ngaphakathi kwami; inhliziyo yami ngaphakathi kwami idanile.
Therefore hath my spirit, fainted concerning myself, Within me, hath, my heart, been confounded.
5 Ngiyazikhumbula insuku zekadeni; ngidla ingqondo ngayo yonke imisebenzi yakho nginakane ngalokho okwenziwe yizandla zakho.
I have remembered the days of aforetime, I have talked with myself of every deed of thine, Of the work of thy hands, I would speak:
6 Ngiyelula izandla zami kuwe; umphefumulo wami uyakomela njengomhlabathi owomileyo.
I have spread out my hands unto thee, My soul, is as a thirsty land, for thee. (Selah)
7 Ngiphendula masinyane, awu Thixo; umoya wami uyaphela. Ungangifihleli ubuso bakho funa ngibe njengalabo abaya egodini.
Speedily answer me, O Yahweh, My spirit faileth, —Do not hide thy face from me, or I shall be made like unto them who go down into the pit.
8 Akuthi ukusa kungilethele ilizwi lothando lwakho olungaphuthiyo, ngoba sengibeke ithemba lami kuwe. Ngitshengisa indlela okumele ngihambe ngayo, ngoba ngiphakamisela umphefumulo wami kuwe.
Let me hear, in the morning, thy lovingkindness, for, in thee, have, I trusted, —Let me know the way in which I should walk, for, unto thee, have I uplifted my soul.
9 Ngikhulula ezitheni zami, Oh Thixo, ngoba ngizifihla kuwe.
Rescue me from my foes, O Yahweh, Unto thee, have I come seeking refuge.
10 Ngifundisa ukwenza intando yakho, ngoba unguNkulunkulu wami; sengathi uMoya wakho omuhle kakhulu ungangikhokhela emhlabathini ochayileyo.
Teach me to do thy good pleasure, for, thou, art my God, —Thy spirit, is good, thou wilt set me down to rest in a level land.
11 Ngenxa yebizo lakho, Oh Thixo, londoloza impilo yami; ngokulunga kwakho ngikhupha ekuhluphekeni.
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, wilt thou give unto me life, In thy righteousness, wilt thou bring forth, out of distress, my soul;
12 Ethandweni lwakho olungaphuthiyo, thulisa izitha zami; bhubhisa bonke abangizondayo, ngoba ngiyinceku yakho.
And, in thy lovingkindness, wilt thou exterminate my foes, —and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, because, I, am thy servant.
