1 ElikaDavida. Ngizakudumisa, Thixo, ngenhliziyo yami yonke; phambi kwabo “nkulunkulu” ngizahlabelela udumo lwakho.

David’s. I will give thee thanks with all my heart, Before the messengers of God, will I praise thee in song:

2 Ngizakhothama ngikhangele ethempelini lakho elingcwele ngidumise ibizo lakho, ngenxa yothando lwakho lokuthembeka kwakho, ngoba uphakamise ngaphezu kwezinto zonke ibizo lakho lelizwi lakho.

I will bow down towards thy holy temple, and thank thy Name, for thy lovingkindness and for thy faithfulness, For thou hast magnified, above all thy Name, thy word!

3 Ngabiza wena wangiphendula; wangenza ngaba lesibindi lenhliziyo eqinileyo.

In the day I cried unto thee, then didst thou answer me, and didst excite me, in my soul, mightily.

4 Sengathi wonke amakhosi omhlaba angakudumisa, Oh Thixo, lapho esizwa amazwi omlomo wakho.

All the kings of the earth, will thank thee, O Yahweh, when they have heard the sayings of thy mouth;

5 Sengathi bangahlabela ngezindlela zikaThixo ngoba inkazimulo kaThixo inkulu.

And they will sing of the ways of Yahweh, That great is the glory of Yahweh:

6 Loba uThixo ephakeme, uyabananza abathobekileyo, kodwa abazigqajayo ubazi ekhatshana labo.

Though lofty is Yahweh, yet, the lowly, he regardeth, but, the haughty—afar off, doth he acknowledge.

7 Loba ngihamba phakathi kohlupho uyayilondoloza impilo yami; uyaselula isandla sakho ukungivikela elakeni lwezitha zami, ngesandla sakho sokunene uyangisindisa.

Though I walk in the midst of distress, thou wilt give me life, —Because of the anger of my foes, thou wilt thrust forth thy hand, and thy right hand, will save me:

8 UThixo uzagcwalisa icebo lakhe ngami; uthando lwakho, Oh Thixo, lumi laphakade ungawutshiyi umsebenzi wezandla zakho.

Yahweh, will carry through my cause, —O Yahweh! thy lovingkindness, is age-abiding, The works of thine own hands, do not thou desert.
