1 Ingoma yemiqanso. Kwathi lapho uThixo ebuyisa izithunjwa eZiyoni, sasinjengabantu abaphuphayo.

When YHWH turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 Imilomo yethu yayigcwele ngohleko, lezindimi zethu zicula izingoma zentokozo. Basebesithi abezizwe, “UThixo ubenzele izinto ezimangalisayo.”

Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, YHWH hath done great things for them.

3 UThixo usenzele izinto ezimangalisayo, ngakho siyathokoza kakhulu.

YHWH hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4 Buyisa ukuphumelela kwethu, Oh Thixo, njengemifula eseNegebi.

Turn again our captivity, O YHWH, as the streams in the south.

5 Labo abahlanyela ngezinyembezi bazavuna ngezingoma zentokozo.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 Lowo ophuma ekhala, ethwele inhlanyelo ukuba ayehlanyela uzabuya ngezingoma zentokozo, ethwele izinyanda.

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
