1 Ingoma yemiqanso. Ngiphakamisela amehlo ami ezintabeni usizo lwami luvela ngaphi na?

A song of degrees. I will lift mine eyes vnto the mountaines, from whence mine helpe shall come.

2 Usizo lwami luvela kuThixo, uMenzi wezulu lomhlaba.

Mine helpe commeth from the Lord, which hath made the heauen and the earth.

3 Kayikuyekela unyawo lwakho lutshelela yena okulindayo kayikuwozela;

He wil not suffer thy foote to slippe: for he that keepeth thee, will not slumber.

4 ngempela yena olinda u-Israyeli akayikuwozela, akayikulala.

Beholde, he that keepeth Israel, wil neither slumber nor sleepe.

5 UThixo uyakulinda uThixo ungumthunzi wakho esandleni sakho sokunene;

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shadow at thy right hand.

6 ilanga kaliyikukutshisa emini noma loba inyanga ebusuku.

The sunne shall not smite thee by day, nor the moone by night.

7 UThixo uzakuvikela kuzozonke izingozi uzalinda impilo yakho;

The Lord shall preserue thee from all euil: he shall keepe thy soule.

8 uThixo uzalondoloza ukufika kwakho lokusuka kwakho manje kuze kube phakade.

The Lord shall preserue thy going out, and thy comming in from henceforth and for euer.
