1 Babusisiwe labo abandlela zabo zingelansolo, abahamba ngomthetho kaThixo.
ALEPH. Happy are they whose way is perfect, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2 Babusisiwe labo abagcina imilayo yakhe, abayidinga ngenhliziyo yabo yonke.
Happy are they who keep his testimonies, that seek him with all their heart.
3 Kaboni lutho; bahamba ezindleleni zakhe.
They also commit no injustice; in his ways do they walk.
4 Wena ubekile izimiso ukuthi zilandelwe ngokupheleleyo.
Thou thyself hast commanded us thy precepts, that we might keep [them] diligently.
5 He, aluba izindlela zami zithembekile ekulaleleni izimemezelo zakho!
Oh that my ways were firmly directed to observe thy statutes!
6 Lapho-ke ngeke ngibe lenhloni nxa ngikhumbula yonke imilayo yakho.
Then would I not be made ashamed, while I look at all thy commandments.
7 Ngizakudumisa ngenhliziyo eqotho ngilokhu ngiyifunda imithetho yakho elungileyo.
I will thank thee with uprightness of heart, when I learn thy righteous ordinances.
8 Ngizazilalela izimemezelo zakho; ungangikhalali ngempela.
Thy statutes will I observe: oh forsake me not too greatly.
9 Ijaha lingaphila njani impilo ehlambulukileyo? Ngokuphila ngendlela yelizwi lakho.
BETH. Wherewithal shall a youth keep his way pure? by guarding it according to thy word.
10 Ngikudinga ngenhliziyo yami yonke; ungangiyekeli ngiphambuke emilayweni yakho.
With all my heart have I sought thee: oh let me not wander astray from thy commandments.
11 Ilizwi lakho ngilifihlile enhliziyweni yami ukuze ngingenzi isono kuwe.
In my heart have I treasured up thy saying, in order that I may not sin against thee.
12 Udumo kalube kuwe, Oh Thixo; ngifundisa izimemezelo zakho.
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.
13 Ngezindebe zami ngiyayibala yonke imithetho ephuma emlonyeni wakho.
With my lips have I related all the ordinances of thy mouth.
14 Kuyangithokozisa ukulandela izimiso zakho njengomuntu ethabela inotho enkulu.
On the way of thy testimonies have I been glad, as over all wealth.
15 Ngiyanakana ngezimiso zakho ngikhumbule ngezindlela zakho.
On thy precepts will I meditate, and direct my look unto thy paths.
16 Ngiyathokoza ngezimemezelo zakho; angiyikulidela ilizwi lakho.
In thy statutes will I seek my delight: I will not forget thy word.
17 Yenzele okuhle inceku yakho ukuba ngiphile; ngizalilalela ilizwi lakho.
GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant: let me live, that I may observe thy word.
18 Vula amehlo ami ukuze ngibone izinto ezimangalisayo emthethweni wakho.
Open thou my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
19 Ngiyisihambi emhlabeni; ungangifihleli imilayo yakho.
A stranger am I on the earth: hide not from me thy commandments.
20 Umphefumulo wami uhugekile ngokulangazelela imithetho yakho ngezikhathi zonke.
My soul is broken from longing for thy ordinances at all times.
21 Uyabakhuza abaklolodayo, abaqalekisiweyo abaphambukayo emithethweni yakho.
Thou hast rebuked the accursed proud, who go erringly astray from thy commandments.
22 Susa kimi ihlazo lokweyisa, ngoba ngiyazigcina izimiso zakho.
Roll away from me reproach and contempt; for thy testimonies have I kept.
23 Loba ababusi behlangana ngami bengigcona, inceku yakho izanakana ngezimemezelo zakho.
Although even princes should sit and speak against me, thy servant would still meditate on thy statutes.
24 Izimiso zakho ziyinjabulo yami; zingabacebisi bami.
Also thy testimonies are my delight, my counsellors.
25 Ngehliselwe phansi othulini; londoloza impilo yami njengokwelizwi lakho.
DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: revive thou me according to thy word.
26 Ngabalisa izindlela zami wangiphendula; ngifundisa izimiso zakho.
My ways do I relate [to thee], and thou answerest me: teach me thy statutes.
27 Ngenza ngizwisise imfundiso yezimiso zakho; lapho-ke ngizanakana ngezimanga zakho.
Cause me to understand the way of thy precepts, that I may meditate on thy wonders.
28 Umphefumulo wami ukhathele ngosizi; ngiqinisa njengokwelizwi lakho.
My soul droppeth away from grief: sustain me according to thy word.
29 Ngivikela ezindleleni zenkohliso; woba lobubele kimi ngokomthetho wakho.
The way of falsehood do thou remove from me, and grant me graciously thy law.
30 Ngikhethe indlela yeqiniso; sengibeke inhliziyo yami emithethweni yakho.
The way of truth have I chosen: thy ordinances have I set [before me].
31 Ngibambelele ezimisweni zakho, Oh Thixo; ungangiyekeli ngiyangeka.
I have adhered unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.
32 Ngigijima ngendlela yemithetho yakho, ngoba uyikhulule inhliziyo yami.
The way of thy commandments will I run; for thou wilt enlarge my heart.
33 Ngifundisa, Oh Thixo; ukulandela izimemezelo zakho; ukuthi ngizigcine kuze kufike ekucineni.
HE. Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I shall keep it in all its windings.
34 Ngipha ukuzwisisa ukuze ngigcine umthetho wakho ngiwulalele ngayo yonke inhliziyo yami.
Give me understanding, that I may keep thy law, and I will observe it with all [my] heart.
35 Ngiqondisa endleleni yemilayo yakho, ngoba khonapho ngifumana ukuthokoza.
Guide me on the path of thy commandments; for therein do I find my delight.
36 Phendulela inhliziyo yami ezimisweni zakho kungabi ngokokuzizuzela okungokwami.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to desire for gain.
37 Phendula amehlo ami asuke ezintweni ezingesilutho; londoloza impilo yami njengokwelizwi lakho.
Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity: on thy way do thou give me life.
38 Gcwalisa isithembiso sakho encekwini yakho, ukuze wesatshwe.
Fulfill unto thy servant thy promise for those who are devoted to thy fear.
39 Susa ihlazo engilesabayo, ngoba imithetho yakho ilungile.
Cause to pass away my disgrace of which I have dread; for thy ordinances are good.
40 Ngizilangazelela kanjani izimiso zakho! Londoloza impilo yami ekulungeni kwakho.
Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: through thy righteousness do thou give my life.
41 Sengathi uthando lwakho olungaphuthiyo lungeza kimi, Oh Thixo, insindiso yakho ize njengokuthembisa kwakho;
VAV. And let thy kindness come unto me, O Lord, thy salvation, according to thy promise.
42 lapho-ke ngizamphendula lowo ongithukayo, ngoba ngithembe ilizwi lakho.
Then shall I have a word to answer the one that reproacheth me; for I trust in thy word.
43 Ungangemuki emlonyeni ilizwi leqiniso, ngoba ithemba lami ngilibeke emithethweni yakho.
And snatch not the word of truth out of my mouth too greatly; for I wait for thy ordinances.
44 Ngizahlala ngiwulalela umthetho wakho, okwanini lanini.
So shall I observe thy law continually for ever and ever.
45 Ngizazihambela ngikhululekile, ngoba ngiyidingisisile imithetho yakho.
And I will walk in an open space; for thy precepts have I sought.
46 Ngizakhuluma ngezimiso zakho phambi kwamakhosi ngingabi lamahloni,
And I will speak of thy testimonies before kings, and will not be ashamed.
47 ngoba ngithokoza ngisemilayweni yakho ngoba ngiyayithanda.
And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I love.
48 Ngizaphakamisa izandla zami emilayweni yakho engiyithandayo, nginakana ngezimemezelo zakho.
And so will I lift up my hands unto thy commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on thy statutes.
49 Khumbula ilizwi lakho encekwini yakho, ngoba usungiphe ithemba.
ZAYIN. Remember thy word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to wait.
50 Induduzo yami phakathi kokuhlupheka kwami yile: Isithembiso sakho sigcina impilo yami.
This is my comfort in my affliction, that thy promise hath revived me.
51 Abaklolodayo bangihleka baze bakholise, kodwa kangiphambuki emthethweni wakho.
The presumptuous have held me too greatly in derision: yet have I not departed away from thy law.
52 Ngiyayikhumbula imithetho yakho yekadeni, Oh Thixo, ngifumana ukududuzeka kuyo.
I remembered thy decrees [which were] from olden times, O Lord, and thus comforted myself.
53 Ngithukuthela ngife ngenxa yababi, asebedele umthetho wakho.
Horror seized on me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
54 Izimemezelo zakho ziyiyo injongo yengoma yami loba ngingabe ngihlala ngaphi
Songs have thy statutes been unto me in the house of my pilgrimage.
55 Ebusuku ngiyalikhumbula ibizo lakho, Oh Thixo, njalo ngizawugcina umthetho wakho.
I remembered in the night thy name, O Lord, and observed thy law.
56 Le yiyo injayelo yokwenza kwami: Ngiyayilalela imithetho yakho.
This came to pass unto me, because I had kept thy precepts.
57 Uyingxenye yami, Oh Thixo, ngithembisile ukulalela amazwi akho.
CHETH. My portion is the Lord, have I said, that I might observe thy words.
58 Ngiyabudinga ubuso bakho ngenhliziyo yami yonke; woba lobubele kimi njengesithembiso sakho.
I make entreaty before thee with all my heart: be gracious unto me according to thy promise.
59 Sengizihlolile izindlela zami ngaphendula izinyathelo zami zaya ezimisweni zakho.
I have thought over my ways, and made my feet return unto thy testimonies.
60 Ngizaphangisa ngingaphuzi ukulalela imilayo yakho.
I hastened, and delayed not to observe thy commandments.
61 Loba ababi bengangibopha ngentambo, angiyikuwukhohlwa umthetho wakho.
Companies of wicked men have surrounded me; but I have not forgotten thy law.
62 Phakathi kobusuku ngivukela ukukubonga ngemithetho yakho emihle.
At midnights do I constantly rise to give thanks unto thee, because of thy righteous decrees.
63 Ngingumngane kubo bonke abakwesabayo, kubo bonke abalandela imithetho yakho.
An associate am I unto all that fear thee, and unto those that keep thy precepts.
64 Umhlaba ugcwele uthando lwakho, Oh Thixo; ngifundisa izimiso zakho.
Of thy kindness, O Lord, is the earth full: teach me thy statutes.
65 Senzele okuhle isisebenzi sakho njengelizwi lakho, Oh Thixo.
TETH. Thou hast shown goodness on thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word.
66 Ngifundisa ulwazi lokwahlulela okufaneleyo, ngoba ngiyayikholwa imilayo yakho.
The best of discernment and knowledge do thou teach me; for in thy commandments do I believe.
67 Ngingakabi sekuhluphekeni ngalahleka, kodwa manje sengilalela ilizwi lakho.
Before I was afflicted I was in error; but now I observe thy saying.
68 Ulungile njalo okwenzayo kulungile; ngifundisa izimiso zakho.
Thou art good, and doing good: teach me thy statutes.
69 Lokuba abaklolodayo bengibhaceke ngamanga, ngiyazigcina izimiso zakho ngenhliziyo yami yonke.
The presumptuous have invented falsehoods against me; but I will with all my heart indeed keep thy precepts.
70 Inhliziyo zabo zilolunya kazilazwelo, kodwa mina ngijabula ngomthetho wakho.
Gross as fat is their heart; but I take truly delight in thy law.
71 Kwakukuhle kimi ukuthi ngihlutshwe ukuze ngifunde izimiso zakho.
It is well for me that I have been afflicted, in order that I might learn thy statutes.
72 Umthetho ophuma emlonyeni wakho uligugu kimi okudlula inhlamvu zesiliva legolide eziyizinkulungwane.
Better is unto me the law of thy mouth than thousands of gold and silver.
73 Izandla zakho zangenza zangibumba, ngipha ukuzwisisa ukuze ngifunde imilayo yakho.
YOD. Thy hands have made me and established me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
74 Sengathi labo abakwesabayo bangathokoza nxa bengibona, ngoba sengibeke ithemba lami elizwini lakho.
Those that fear thee will see me and be rejoiced; because I have waited for thy word.
75 Ngiyazi, Thixo, ukuthi imithetho yakho ilungile, lokuthi ungihlukuluzile ngenxa yokuthembeka kwakho.
I know, O Lord, that thy decrees are righteous, and that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.
76 Sengathi uthando lwakho olungaphuthiyo lungaba yinduduzo kimi, njengesithembiso sakho encekwini yakho.
Let, I pray thee, thy kindness come to comfort me, according to thy promise unto thy servant.
77 Isihawu sakho kasize kimi ukuze ngiphile, umthetho wakho uyikuthokoza kwami.
Let thy mercies come unto me, that I may live; for thy law is my delight.
78 Sengathi abaklolodayo bangayangiswa ngokungigcona ngingonanga lutho; kodwa mina ngizanakana ngemithetho yakho.
Let the presumptuous be made ashamed; because they have without a cause dealt perversely with me; but I will indeed meditate on thy precepts.
79 Sengathi labo abakwesabayo bangaphendukela kimi, bona abezwisisa izimiso zakho.
Let those that fear thee return unto me, and those that know thy testimonies.
80 Sengathi inhliziyo yami ingaba msulwa ngezimiso zakho, ukuze ngingayangiswa.
Let my heart be entire in thy statutes, in order that I may not be put to shame.
81 Umphefumulo wami uyacikizeka ngokulangazelela insindiso yakho, kodwa ngilibekile ithemba lami elizwini lakho.
CAPH. My soul ardently desireth for thy salvation: for thy word do I wait.
82 Amehlo ami aseze efiphala ngokulinda isithembiso sakho; ngithi, “Uzaze ungiduduze nini na?”
My eyes look eagerly for thy promise, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Lanxa nginjengesixaxa sewayini esesikhumba sifuswe entuthwini, kangizilibali izimiso zakho.
For I am become like a bottle in the smoke: [yet] do I not forget thy statutes.
84 Inceku yakho izalinda kuze kube nini na? Uzabajezisa nini abangihluphayo na?
How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute justice on my persecutors?
85 Abaklolodayo bangigebhela amagodi, bephikisa umthetho wakho.
The presumptuous have dug pits for me, which is not in accordance with thy law.
86 Yonke imilayo yakho ithembekile, ngisiza, ngoba abantu bayangichukuluza kungelasizatho.
All thy commandments are founded on truth: without cause they persecute me; help thou me.
87 Baphose bangesula emhlabeni, kodwa kangiyilahlanga imithetho yakho.
But little was wanting that they had consumed me upon earth; but I have truly not forsaken thy precepts.
88 Ngivuselela ngomusa wakho olothando, ukuze ngigcine izimiso zomlomo wakho.
According to thy kindness give me life, that I may observe the testimony of thy mouth.
89 Ilizwi lakho, Oh Thixo, kalipheli lanini; limi liqinile emazulwini.
LAMED. To eternity, O Lord, standeth firm thy word with the heavens.
90 Ukuthembeka kwakho kukhona kuzozonke izizukulwane; wawumisa umhlaba, uzakuma kokuphela.
Unto all generations endureth thy faithfulness: thou hast established the earth, and she standeth.
91 Imithetho yakho imi lanamhla lokhu, ngoba zonke izinto zikhonza wena.
According to thy ordinances they exist this day: for all are thy servants.
92 Aluba umthetho wakho ubungesiyo injabulo yami ngabe ngabhubha ngiphakathi kokuhlupheka kwami.
Unless thy law had been my delights, I should long since have been lost in my affliction.
93 Kangisoze ngafa ngayilibala imithetho yakho, ngoba ngayo uyilondolozile impilo yami.
Never will I forget thy precepts; for with them thou hast kept me alive.
94 Ngisindisa ngoba ngingowakho; ngiyidingisisile imithetho yakho.
Thine am I, save me; for thy precepts have I sought.
95 Ababi balindele ukungichitha, kodwa ngizanakana ngezimiso zakho.
Wicked men have waited for me to destroy me; [but] I will reflect on thy testimonies.
96 Kukho konke ukuphelela ngibona kulomkhawulo; kodwa imilayo yakho ayilamingcele.
Of all perfection have I seen the end; [but] thy commandment is exceedingly extended.
97 Oh, ngiwuthanda kangakanani umthetho wakho! Ngikhumbula ngawo ilanga lonke.
MEM. Oh how do I love thy law! all the day is it my (meditation)
98 Imilayo yakho iyangihlakaniphisa kulezitha zami, ngoba ngihlezi ngilayo.
Wiser than my enemy doth thy commandment make me; for it is perpetually with me.
99 Ngicacile ukuqedisisa kwami kulabafundisi bami, ngoba ngiyanakana ngezimiso zakho.
Above all my teachers have I obtained intelligence; for thy testimonies are my (meditation)
100 Ngiyezwisisa okudlula abadala, ngoba ngiyayilalela imithetho yakho.
More than the elders do I possess understanding; because thy precepts do I keep.
101 Inyawo zami kaziyinyathelanga layiphi indlela embi ukuze ngilalele ilizwi lakho.
From every evil path have I withholden my feet, in order that I might observe thy word.
102 Kangiphambukanga emithethweni yakho, ngoba wena ngokwakho ungifundisile.
From thy ordinances have I not departed; for thou hast instructed me.
103 Amazwi akho anambitheka kamnandi kimi, amnandi kulenyosi emlonyeni wami!
How much sweeter are to my palate thy sayings than honey to my mouth!
104 Ngiyazuza ukuqedisisa emithethweni yakho; ngakho ngiyayizonda loba layiphi indlela engalunganga.
Through thy precepts shall I obtain understanding: therefore do I hate every path of falsehood.
105 Ilizwi lakho liyisibane ezinyaweni zami liyikukhanya kwendlela yami.
NUN. A lamp unto my feet is thy word, and a light unto my path.
106 Sengenzile isifungo ngasiqinisa, ukuthi ngizalandela imithetho yakho elungileyo.
I have sworn, and I will perform it, to observe thy righteous ordinances.
107 Sengihlupheke kakhulu; londoloza impilo yami, Oh Thixo njengokutshiwo yilizwi lakho.
I am afflicted exceedingly much: O Lord, revive me, according to thy word.
108 Yamukela, Oh Thixo, indumiso epheleleyo ngomlomo wami, ungifundise imithetho yakho.
Receive in favor the freewill-offerings of my mouth, I beseech thee, O Lord, and teach me thy ordinances.
109 Loba ngihlezi ngizibona sengingene engozini, kangiyi kuwulibala umthetho wakho.
My life is in my hand continually: yet thy law do I not forget.
110 Ababi sebengithiye ngomjibila kodwa kangiphambukanga emithethweni yakho.
The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet have I not erred from thy precepts.
111 Izimiso zakho ziyilifa lami laphakade; ziyintokozo yenhliziyo yami.
I have taken thy testimonies as a heritage to eternity; for they are the joy of my heart.
112 Inhliziyo yami izimisele ukugcina imilayo yakho kuze kube sekupheleni.
I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes always, in all their ways.
113 Ngiyabazonda abantu abangongqondombili, kodwa ngiyawuthanda umthetho wakho.
SAMECH. Those of divided thoughts I hate; but thy law do I love.
114 Uyisiphephelo sami lesihlangu sami; sengibeke ithemba lami elizwini lakho.
My shelter and my shield art thou: for thy word do I wait.
115 Sukani kimi lina benzi bobubi, ukuze ngikwazi ukugcina imilayo kaNkulunkulu wami!
Depart from me, ye evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of God.
116 Ngisekela njengesithembiso sakho ukuze ngiphile; ithemba lami lingaze labhidlika.
Uphold me according to thy promise, that I may live, and let me not be made ashamed of my hope.
117 Ngiqinisa ukuze ngikhululwe; ngizahlala ngizinanza izimiso zakho.
Support me that I may be placed in safety, and I will direct my regard unto thy statutes continually.
118 Uyabalahla bonke labo abaphambuka ezimisweni zakho, ngoba ukukhohlisa kwabo kuyize.
Thou hast trodden down all that erringly stray from thy statutes; for falsehood is their deceit.
119 Bonke ababi bomhlaba uyabalahlela kude njengezibi; ngakho ngiyazithanda izimiso zakho.
Like dross dost thou put away all the wicked of the earth: therefore do I love thy testimonies.
120 Inyama yami iyathuthumela ngokukwesaba; ngizwa ngiyesaba imithetho yakho.
My flesh trembleth shudderingly from dread of thee, and of thy decrees am I afraid.
121 Ngenzile okulungileyo lokufaneleyo; ungangiyekeleli abancindezeli bami.
'AYIN. I have executed justice and righteousness: leave me not to those who oppress me.
122 Qinisa impilakahle yenceku yakho; ungayekeli abaklolodayo bangincindezele.
Protect thy servant for good: let not the presumptuous oppress me.
123 Amehlo ami asefiphala elokhu ekhangele insindiso yakho, ekhangele isithembiso sakho esilungileyo.
My eyes look eagerly for thy salvation, and for thy righteous promise.
124 Yenza encekwini yakho ngokothando lwakho, ungifundise izimiso zakho.
Deal with thy servant according to thy kindness, and thy statutes do thou teach me.
125 Ngiyinceku yakho; ngipha ukuqedisisa ukuthi ngizwisise izimiso zakho.
I am thy servant: give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
126 Sekuyisikhathi sakho sokuthi wenze okwakho, Oh Thixo umthetho wakho uyephulwa nje.
It is time to act for the Lord: they have broken thy law.
127 Ngoba ngiyayithanda imilayo yakho kulegolide, kulegolide elicengekileyo,
Therefore do I love thy commandments more than gold, and more than fine gold.
128 njalo njengoba ngisithi imithetho yakho ilungile, ngiyayizonda yonke indlela engaqondanga.
Therefore do I esteem all thy precepts in all things as right: every path of falsehood do I hate.
129 Izimiso zakho ziyamangalisa; ngakho ngiyazilalela.
PE. Wonderful are thy testimonies: therefore doth my soul keep them.
130 Ukwambulwa kwamazwi akho kuletha ukukhanya; kunika ukuzwisisa kwabayizithutha.
The opening of thy words giveth light, it giveth understanding unto the simple.
131 Ngivula umlomo wami ngikhefuzele, ngilangazelela imilayo yakho.
I opened my mouth, and panted for breath; because for thy commandments did I long.
132 Phendukela kimi ube lomusa kimi, njengoba uhlezi ukwenza kwabathanda ibizo lakho.
Turn thou unto me, and be gracious unto me, as is thy wont unto those that love thy name.
133 Qondisa izinyathelo zami ngokwelizwi lakho; kakungabi lesono esingibusayo.
My steps establish thou through thy promise, and suffer not any wrong to have dominion over me.
134 Ngihlenga ekuncindezelweni ngabantu, ukuze ngilalele imithetho yakho.
Deliver me from the oppression of man, and I will observe thy precepts.
135 Yenza ubuso bakho bukhanye encekwini yakho, ungifundise izimiso zakho.
Let thy face shine upon thy servant, and teach me thy statutes.
136 Imifula yezinyembezi iyajuluka emehlweni ami, ngoba umthetho wakho kawulalelwa.
Streams of water have run down my eyes; because they had not observed thy law.
137 Ulungile wena Thixo, lemithetho yakho ilungile.
TZADDE. Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy decrees.
138 Izimiso ozibekileyo zilungile; zithembekile ngokupheleleyo.
Thou hast commanded thy testimonies, as righteous and faithful exceedingly.
139 Ukutshiseka kwami kuyangicoba, ngoba izitha zami kaziwananzi amazwi akho.
My zeal destroyeth me; because my assailants have forgotten thy words.
140 Izithembiso zakho zihlolisisiwe kakhulu, inceku yakho iyazithanda.
Thy promise is greatly refined, and thy servant loveth it.
141 Loba ngingumuntukazana ngiseyiswa, angiyikhohlwa imithetho yakho.
I am little and despised: yet thy precepts have I not forgotten.
142 Ukulunga kwakho kumi laphakade njalo umthetho wakho uliqiniso.
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
143 Uhlupho losizi kuyakungehlele, kodwa imilayo yakho iyikuthokoza kwami.
Distress and trouble have overtaken me: [yet] are thy commandments my delights.
144 Izimiso zakho zihlezi zilungile; ngipha ukuzwisisa ukuze ngiphile.
Righteous are thy testimonies for everlasting: give me understanding, that I may live.
145 Ngiyamemeza ngayo yonke inhliziyo yami; ngiphendula, Thixo, mina ngizalalela imithetho yakho.
KOPH. I have called with all my heart: answer me, O Lord: thy statutes will I keep.
146 Ngiyakubiza, ngisindisa mina ngizagcina izimiso zakho.
I have called on thee, save me, and I will observe thy testimonies.
147 Ngivuka emathathakusa ngikhale kuwe ngicela usizo; sengibeke ithemba lami elizwini lakho.
I come before thee in the dawn of morning, and cry: for thy word do I wait.
148 Amehlo ami alala ekhangele ngemilindo yonke yobusuku, ukuze ngicabange ngezithembiso zakho.
My eyes are awake before the night-watches, that I may meditate in thy saying.
149 Zwana ilizwi lami ngokuya kothando lwakho; londoloza impilo yami, Oh Thixo ngokuya kwemithetho yakho.
Hear my voice according to thy kindness: O Lord, according to thy decree do thou grant me life.
150 Labo abakha amasu amabi baseduze, kodwa bakhatshana lomthetho wakho.
They that pursue mischievous devices draw nigh: from thy law are they far.
151 Ikanti useduze, wena Thixo, lemilayo yakho yonke iqinisile.
Near art thou, O Lord; and all thy commandments are the truth.
152 Sekukade ngafunda ezimisweni zakho ukuthi wazenzela ukuthi zime lanininini.
Of old already I knew of thy testimonies; because for eternity hast thou founded them.
153 Khangela ukuhawula kwami ungikhulule, ngoba kangiwukhohlwanga umthetho wakho.
RESH. Look on my affliction, and release me; for thy law have I not forgotten.
154 Ake ungimele ukuze ungihlenge; londoloza impilo yami njengesithembiso sakho.
Plead my cause, and deliver me: according to thy promise do thou revive me.
155 Insindiso ikhatshana kwababi, ngoba kabazidingi izimiso zakho.
Far from the wicked is salvation; because thy statutes have they not sought for.
156 Isihawu sakho sikhulu, Oh Thixo londoloza impilo yami mayelana lemithetho yakho.
Thy mercies are abundant, O Lord; according to thy decrees do thou revive me.
157 Zinengi izitha ezingihluphayo, kodwa kangiphambukanga ezimisweni zakho.
Many are my persecutors and my assailants: yet from thy testimonies do I not turn away.
158 Ngikhangela abangakholwayo ngibenyanye, ngoba kabalilaleli ilizwi lakho.
I beheld the treacherous, and felt disgust; because they observed not thy saying.
159 Ake ubone ukuthi ngiyithanda kanganani imithetho yakho; londoloza impilo yami, Oh Thixo, ngokothando lwakho.
Behold that I love thy precepts: O Lord, according to thy kindness do thou revive me.
160 Wonke amazwi akho aqinisile; yonke imithetho yakho elungileyo ngeyaphakade.
The summit of thy word is truth: and the whole of thy righteous judgment endureth for ever.
161 Ababusi bayangihlupha kungelasizatho, kodwa inhliziyo yami iyaliqhuqhela ilizwi lakho.
SHIN. Princes have persecuted me without a cause; but of thy word standeth my heart in dread.
162 Isithembiso sakho siyangithokozisa ingathi ngumuntu othole impango enkulu.
I am rejoiced over thy promise, as one that findeth great spoil.
163 Amanga ngiyawazonda njalo ngiyawenyanya kodwa umthetho wakho ngiyawuthanda.
Falsehood I hate and abhor: but thy law do I love.
164 Ngikudumisa kasikhombisa ngelanga ngenxa yemithetho yakho elungileyo.
Seven times in the day do I praise thee because of thy righteous decrees.
165 Kukhulu ukuthula abalakho labo abathanda umthetho wakho, kakulalutho olungabakhubekisa.
Abundant peace have they who love thy law; and thee is nothing that causeth them to stumble.
166 Ngiyilindele insindiso yakho, Oh Thixo njalo ngiyayilandela imilayo yakho.
I have hoped for thy salvation, O Lord, and thy commandments have I fulfilled.
167 Ngiyazilalela izimiso zakho, ngoba ngiyazithanda kakhulu.
My soul hath observed thy testimonies, and I love them exceedingly.
168 Ngiyayilalela imithetho yakho lezimiso zakho, ngoba uyazazi zonke izindlela zami.
I have observed thy precepts and thy testimonies; because all my ways are before thee.
169 Sengathi ukukhala kwami kungafika kuwe, Oh Thixo ngipha ukuzwisisa njengelizwi lakho.
TAV. Let my entreaty come near before thee, O Lord: according to thy word grant me understanding.
170 Sengathi ukuncenga kwami kungafika kuwe; ngikhulula njengesithembiso sakho.
Let my supplication come before thee: according to thy promise do thou deliver me.
171 Sengathi indebe zami zingageleza indumiso yakho, ngoba uyangifundisa imithetho yakho.
My lips shall utter praise; because thou wilt teach me thy statutes.
172 Sengathi ulimi lwami lungalihlabela ilizwi lakho, ngoba yonke imilayo yakho ilungile.
My tongue shall speak loudly of thy promise; for all thy commandments are righteous.
173 Sengathi isandla sakho singalungela ukungisiza, ngoba sengikhethe imithetho yakho.
Let thy hand be [ready] to help me; for thy precepts have I chosen.
174 Ngilangazelela insindiso yakho, Oh Thixo ngoba umthetho wakho uyinjabulo yami.
I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my delights.
175 Kangiphile ukuze ngikudumise, sengathi njalo lemithetho yakho ingangisekela.
Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee: and let thy decrees help me.
176 Ngiphambukile njengemvu elahlekileyo. Yidinge inceku yakho, ngoba kangikayikhohlwa imilayo yakho.
I have gone erringly astray like a lost sheep: seek thy servant; for thy commandments have I not forgotten.
