1 Kakungabi kithi, Oh Thixo, hatshi kithi kodwa kwelakho ibizo kakube lenkazimulo, ngenxa yothando lokuthembeka Kwakho.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory.
2 Kungani izizwe zisithi, “Ungaphi uNkulunkulu wabo na?”
Give glory to your mercy and your truth, lest the Gentiles should say, “Where is their God?”
3 UNkulunkulu wethu usezulwini; wenza loba yini ayithandayo.
But our God is in heaven. All things whatsoever that he has willed, he has done.
4 Kodwa izithombe zabo yisiliva legolide, zenziwe ngezandla zabantu.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men.
5 Zilemilomo, kodwa kazikhulumi, amehlo, kodwa kaziboni;
They have mouths, and do not speak; they have eyes, and do not see.
6 zilezindlebe, kodwa kazizwa, amakhala, kodwa kazinuki lutho;
They have ears, and do not hear; they have noses, and do not smell.
7 zilezandla, kodwa kazenelisi ukuthinta, inyawo, kodwa kazihambi; njalo ngeke nje zenze umsindo ngemphimbo yazo.
They have hands, and do not feel; they have feet, and do not walk. Neither will they cry out with their throat.
8 Labo abazenzayo bazakuba njengazo, kube njalo lakulabo abathemba kuzo.
Let those who make them become like them, along with all who trust in them.
9 Oh ndlu ka-Israyeli, methembe uThixo lusizo lwabo lesihlangu sabo.
The house of Israel has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
10 Oh, ndlu ka-Aroni, methembe uThixo ulusizo lwabo lesihlangu sabo.
The house of Aaron has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
11 Lina elimesabayo, thembani kuThixo ulusizo lwabo lesihlangu sabo.
Those who fear the Lord have hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
12 UThixo uyasikhumbula njalo uzasibusisa: Uzayibusisa indlu ka-Israyeli, uzayibusisa indlu ka-Aroni,
The Lord has been mindful of us, and he has blessed us. He has blessed the house of Israel. He has blessed the house of Aaron.
13 uzababusisa labo abamesabayo uThixo abancinyane labakhulu ngokufananayo.
He has blessed all who fear the Lord, the small with the great.
14 Sengathi uThixo angalenza lande, lonke lina kanye labantwana benu.
May the Lord add blessings upon you: upon you, and upon your sons.
15 Sengathi lingabusiswa nguThixo uMenzi wezulu lomhlaba.
Blessed are you by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
16 NgakaThixo amazulu aphezu kwakho konke, kodwa umhlaba wawunika abantu.
The heaven of heaven is for the Lord, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.
17 Kakusibo abafileyo abadumisa uThixo, labo abangena phansi ekuthuleni;
The dead will not praise you, Lord, and neither will all those who descend into Hell. (questioned)
18 yithi esimbabazayo uThixo, khona manje kanye laphakade. Dumisani uThixo.
But we who live will bless the Lord, from this time forward, and even forever.
