1 Dumisani uThixo. Dumisani uThixo, lina zinceku zakhe, dumisani ibizo likaThixo.

Hallelujah. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise ye the name of the Lord.

2 Kalidunyiswe ibizo likaThixo, khona manje kanye laphakade.

Let the name of the Lord be blessed from this time forth and for evermore.

3 Kusukela okuphuma khona ilanga kusiyafika lapho elitshona khona, kufanele lidunyiswe ibizo likaThixo.

From the rising of the sun unto his going down the name of the Lord is praised.

4 UThixo uphakeme ngaphezu kwezizwe zonke, inkazimulo yakhe ngaphezulu kwamazulu.

High above all nations is the Lord, above the heavens is his glory.

5 Ngubani na onjengoThixo uNkulunkulu wethu, oNguye ohlezi ebukhosini phezulu,

Who is like the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high?

6 okhothama akhangele phansi emazulwini lasemhlabeni?

Who condescendeth to view what is done in the heavens, and on the earth?

7 Uyabavusa abampofu othulini, aphakamise abaswelayo esilotheni;

He raiseth up out of the dust the poor, from the dunghill he lifteth up the needy:

8 abahlalise lamakhosana, amakhosana abantu bakibo.

That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

9 Lomfazi oyinyumba umenza ahlale kuhle emzini wakhe afane lalowo ongunina wabantwana. Dumisani uThixo.

He causeth the barren woman to dwell in the midst of [her] household, the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah.
