1 ElikaDavida. Ihubo. UThixo uthi enkosini yami: “Hlala ngakwesokunene sami ngize ngenze izitha zakho zibe yisinyathelo senyawo zakho.”

“A psalm of David.” Jehovah said to my lord, “Sit thou at my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool.”

2 UThixo uzakwelula intonga yakhe elamandla eyobukhosi kusuka eZiyoni wena uzabusa phakathi kwezitha zakho

Jehovah will extend the sceptre of thy power from Zion: Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies!

3 Amabutho akho azazinikela mhla uphuma impi. Wembethe ubukhosi obungcwele, phakathi komnyama wempondozankomo uzakwamukela amazolo obutsha bakho.

Thy people shall be ready, when thou musterest thy forces, in holy splendor; Thy youth shall come forth like dew from the womb of the morning.

4 UThixo ufungile njalo kasoze ayiguqule ingqondo yakhe: “Wena ungumphristi kuze kube nini lanini emkhondweni kaMelikhizedekhi.”

Jehovah hath sworn, and he will not repent: “Thou art a priest for ever, After the order of Melchisedeck!”

5 INkosi ikwesokunene sakho; izawachoboza amakhosi mhla wosuku lokuthukuthela kwayo.

The Lord is at thy right hand, He shall crush kings in the day of his wrath.

6 Izazahlulela izizwe, yenze inqwaba yabafileyo njalo ibachoboze ababusi bomhlaba wonke.

He shall execute justice among the nations; He shall fill them with dead bodies, He shall crush the heads of his enemies over many lands.

7 Izanatha emfuleni oseceleni kwendlela; ngakho-ke izaliphakamisa ikhanda layo.

He shall drink of the brook in the way; Therefore shall he lift up his head.
