1 Bongani uThixo, memezani ibizo lakhe; lizazise phakathi kwabantu izenzo zakhe
Give thanks to YHWH—call on His Name, Make His acts known among the peoples.
2 Hlabelelani kuye, hlabelelani indumiso kuye; likhulume ngezenzo zakhe zonke ezimangalisayo.
Sing to Him—sing praise to Him, Meditate on all His wonders.
3 Jabulani ebizweni lakhe elingcwele; kazithokoze inhliziyo zabo abamdingayo uThixo.
Boast yourselves in His Holy Name, The heart of those seeking YHWH rejoices.
4 Dingani uThixo lamandla akhe, limdinge yena njalonjalo.
Seek YHWH and His strength, Seek His face continually.
5 Khumbulani izenzo zakhe ezimangalisayo azenzayo, izimangaliso azenzayo, lezahlulelo azikhulumayo,
Remember His wonders that He did, His signs and the judgments of His mouth.
6 lina zizukulwane zika-Abhrahama inceku yakhe, lina madodana kaJakhobe, abakhethiweyo bakhe.
O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones.
7 UnguThixo uNkulunkulu wethu; izahlulelo zakhe zisemhlabeni wonke.
He [is] our God YHWH, His judgments [are] in all the earth.
8 Uyasikhumbula isivumelwano sakhe nini lanini, ilizwi lomlayo wakhe, okwezizukulwane ezizinkulungwane,
He has remembered His covenant for all time, The word He commanded to one thousand generations,
9 isivumelwano asenza lo-Abhrahama, isifungo asifungayo ku-Isaka.
That He has made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,
10 Wakuqinisa lokhu kuJakhobe kwaba yisimiso ku-Israyeli njengesivumelwano saphakade:
And establishes it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel—a perpetual covenant,
11 wathi “Ngizalinika ilizwe laseKhenani njengesabelo selifa lenu.”
Saying, “I give the land of Canaan to you, The portion of your inheritance,”
12 Kwathi besesebalutshwana, bebalutshwana kakhulu, beyizihambi kulo,
In their being few in number, But a few, and sojourners in it.
13 bezula kuzizwe ngezizwe besuka komunye umbuso besiya komunye.
And they go up and down, from nation to nation, From a kingdom to another people.
14 Kavumelanga loba ngubani ukubancindezela; wawakhuza amakhosi ngenxa yabo:
He has not permitted any to oppress them And He reproves kings for their sakes.
15 “Lingabathinti abagcotshiweyo bami; lingahlukuluzi abaphrofethi bami.”
“Do not strike against My anointed, And do no evil to My prophets.”
16 Waletha indlala elizweni wachitha zonke iziphala zokudla;
And He calls a famine on the land, He has broken the whole staff of bread.
17 wathumela indoda yabandulela uJosefa owathengiswa waba yisigqili.
He has sent a man before them, Joseph has been sold for a servant.
18 Bambhonxula inyawo zakhe ngezibopho, wabotshwa intamo ngezinsimbi,
They have afflicted his feet with chains, Iron has entered his soul,
19 kwaze kwathi lokho ayekutsho ngaphambili kwagcwaliseka, kwaze kwathi ilizwi likaThixo latshengisa ukuthi wayeqinisile.
Until the time of the coming of His word The saying of YHWH has tried him.
20 Inkosi yathumela ukuthi akhululwe, umbusi wezizwe wamkhulula.
The king has sent, and looses him, The ruler of the peoples, and draws him out.
21 Wamenza umbusi wendlu yakhe, umbusi wakho konke okwakungokwakhe,
He has made him lord of his house, And ruler over all his possessions.
22 ukuqondisa amakhosana akhe njengokubona kwakhe lokufundisa abadala bakhe inhlakanipho.
To bind his chiefs at his pleasure, And he makes his elderly wise.
23 Kwathi-ke u-Israyeli wayangena eGibhithe; uJakhobe wahlala njengowezizweni elizweni likaHamu.
And Israel comes into Egypt, And Jacob has sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 UThixo wenza abantu bakhe banda kakhulu; wabenza baba banengi kakhulu bandela izitha zabo,
And He makes His people very fruitful, And makes it mightier than its adversaries.
25 kwathi inhliziyo zabo wazenza zazonda abantu bakhe, bakha amacebo amabi ngezinceku zakhe.
He turned their heart to hate His people, To conspire against His servants.
26 Wathuma uMosi inceku yakhe, lo-Aroni ayebakhethile.
He has sent His servant Moses, Aaron whom He had fixed on.
27 Benza iziboniso zakhe ezimangalisayo phakathi kwabo, izimanga zakhe elizweni likaHamu.
They have set among them the matters of His signs, And wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Wathumela umnyama wenza ilizwe laba mnyama kanti angithi babewahlamukele amazwi akhe?
He has sent darkness, and it is dark, And they have not provoked His word.
29 Waguqula amanzi abo aba ligazi, okwenza inhlanzi zawo zafa.
He has turned their waters to blood, And puts their fish to death.
30 Ilizwe labo lanyakazela ngamaxoxo, angena ezindlini zokulala ezababusi babo.
Their land has teemed [with] frogs, In the inner chambers of their kings.
31 Wakhuluma, kwavela umtshitshi wezibawu, lenswintila elizweni labo lonke.
He has commanded, and the beetle comes, Lice into all their border.
32 Wenza izulu labo laba yisiqhotho, laba lombane elizweni labo lonke;
He has made their showers hail, A flaming fire [is] in their land.
33 wacakazela phansi amavini abo lemikhiwa, waphundla izihlahla zelizwe labo.
And He strikes their vine and their fig, And shatters the trees of their border.
34 Wakhuluma zatheleka izintethe, izintethe ezingelakubalwa;
He has commanded, and the locust comes, And the cankerworm—innumerable,
35 zadla yonke into eluhlaza elizweni labo, zadla izithelo zomhlabathi wabo.
And it consumes every herb in their land, And it consumes the fruit of their ground.
36 Ngemva kwalokho wasebulala amazibulo wonke elizweni labo, izithelo zokuqala zobulisa babo.
And He strikes every firstborn in their land, The first-fruit of all their strength,
37 Wamkhupha u-Israyeli, ethwele esisitheka isiliva legolide, kakwaba lamunye phakathi kwezizwana zabo owehlulwa yikufa.
And brings them out with silver and gold, And there is not a feeble one in its tribes.
38 IGibhithe yathokoza ngokusuka kwabo, ngoba base bemesaba kubi u-Israyeli.
Egypt has rejoiced in their going forth, For their fear had fallen on them.
39 Wendlala iyezi lagubuzela, lomlilo ukukhanyisa ebusuku.
He has spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to enlighten the night.
40 Bacela wabalethela izagwaca, wabasuthisa ngesinkwa sasezulwini.
They have asked, and He brings quails, And satisfies them [with] bread of the heavens.
41 Wavula ilitshe amanzi antshaza; njengomfula ageleza enkangala.
He has opened a rock, and waters flow, They have gone on in dry places—a river.
42 Ngoba wakhumbula isithembiso sakhe esingcwele esaphiwa inceku yakhe u-Abhrahama.
For He has remembered His holy word, With His servant Abraham,
43 Wabakhupha abantu bakhe ngokuthokoza, abakhethiweyo bakhe ngenhlokomo yentokozo.
And He brings forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with singing.
44 Wabapha amazwe ezizwe, badla ilifa lalokho okwakuginqelwe ngabanye,
And He gives to them the lands of nations, And they possess the labor of peoples,
45 ukuze bagcine iziqondiso zakhe njalo balalele imithetho yakhe. Dumisani uThixo.
That they may observe His statutes, And may keep His laws. Praise YAH!
