1 Dumisa uThixo, Oh mphefumulo wami. Oh Thixo Nkulunkulu wami, umkhulu kakhulu; ugqoke inkazimulo lobukhosi.
Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honor and majesty.
2 Uyazigoqela ngokukhanya kungathi njengesivunulo; amazulu uyawelula njengethente
Who coverest [thyself] with light as [with] a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
3 anqumise intungo zezindlu zangaphezulu zilale phezu kwamanzi. Wenza amayezi inqola yakhe yamabhiza, undiza ngezimpiko zomoya.
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
4 Wenza izikhatha zomoya zibe yizithunywa zakhe, amalangabi omlilo izinceku zakhe.
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
5 Wawugxilisa umhlaba ezisekelweni zawo; ungeke wagudlulwa.
[Who] laid the foundations of the earth, [that] it should not be removed for ever.
6 Wawembesa ngolwandle njengesivunulo; amanzi ema ngaphezu kwezintaba.
Thou coveredst it with the deep as [with] a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7 Kodwa wathi ngokukhwaza amanzi abaleka, ngomsindo wokuduma kwakho asibathela;
At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8 ageleza phezu kwezintaba, ehlela ezigodini endaweni owamisele kuyo.
They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys to the place which thou hast founded for them.
9 Wamisa umkhawulo angeke aweqe; kasayikubuya awugubuzele njalo umhlaba lanini.
Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
10 Wenza imithombo impompozele amanzi ezindongeni; ageleza phakathi kwezintaba,
He sendeth the springs into the valleys, [which] run among the hills.
11 zipha amanzi kuzozonke izinyamazana zeganga; labobabhemi beganga bacitsha lapho ukoma.
They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
12 Izinyoni zomoya zakhela eduze kwamanzi; ziyatshiloza phakathi kwezingatsha.
By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, [which] sing among the branches.
13 Uyazithelezela izintaba esezindlini zakhe eziphezulu; umhlaba uyawusuthisa ngezithelo zomsebenzi wakhe.
He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
14 Umilisela inkomo utshani, ahlanyelele abantu bona bahlakule kuzuzakale ukudla emhlabathini:
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
15 iwayini elijabulisa inhliziyo yomuntu, amagcobo enza ubuso bakhe bukhazimule, lesinkwa esilulamisa inhliziyo yakhe.
And wine [that] maketh glad the heart of man, [and] oil to make [his] face to shine, and bread [which] strengtheneth man's heart.
16 Izihlahla zikaThixo ziyathelelwa okwaneleyo, imisedari yeLebhanoni ayihlanyelayo.
The trees of the LORD are full [of sap]; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
17 Izinyoni zakhela kuyo izidleke zazo; ingabuzane lakha indlu yalo ezihlahleni zephayini.
Where the birds make their nests: [as for] the stork, the fir-trees [are] her house.
18 Izintaba eziphakemeyo ngezamagogo, amawa ayisiphephelo sezimbila.
The high hills [are] a refuge for the wild goats; [and] the rocks for the conies.
19 Inyanga yehlukanisa izibanga zomnyaka, lelanga liyazi ukuthi litshona nini.
He appointeth the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
20 Uletha umnyama, kube sebusuku, lapho zonke izinyamazana zeganga zizingele.
Thou makest darkness, and it is night: in which all the beasts of the forest do creep [forth].
21 Izilwane ziyabhonga zifuna inyama yazo zidinga ukudla kwazo kuNkulunkulu.
The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.
22 Ilanga liyaphuma, zibe sezicatsha; ziyabuyela ezikhundleni zazo zilale.
The sun ariseth, they collect, and lay themselves down in their dens.
23 Umuntu abe esephuma aye emsebenzini wakhe, ayotshikatshika kuze kube ntambama.
Man goeth forth to his work and to his labor until the evening.
24 Minengi kanganani imisebenzi yakho, Oh Thixo! Zonke wazenza ngenhlakanipho; umhlaba ugcwele izidalwa zakho.
O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
25 Nantuyana ulwandle, uthwaca olungakaya, olunyakazela ngezidalwa ezingelakubalwa izinto eziphilayo ezinkulu lezincinyane.
[So is] this great and wide sea, in which [are] creeping animals innumerable, both small and great beasts.
26 Kulapho imikhumbi endenda khona isiyale lale, loleviyathani, isilo owasenza ukuthi sidlale khona.
There go the ships: [there is] that leviathan, [which] thou hast made to play therein.
27 Zonke lezi zikhangele kuwe ukuthi uziphe ukudla ngesikhathi esifaneleyo.
These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give [them] their food in due season.
28 Uthi ungazipha bese zikubuthela ndawonye; uthi ungavula isandla sakho, zisuthiswe ngezinto ezinhle.
[That which] thou givest them, they gather: thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good.
29 Uthi ungafihla ubuso bakho zitshaywe luvalo; uthi ungathatha umphefumulo wazo, zife zibuyele othulini.
Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
30 Uthi ungathumela uMoya wakho zidalwe, uwenze ube muhle umhlaba.
Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
31 Sengathi inkazimulo kaThixo ingema lanini; sengathi uThixo angathokoza ngemisebenzi yakhe
The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.
32 yena okhangela umhlaba uthuthumele, othinta izintaba zithunqe intuthu.
He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
33 Ngizahlabelela kuThixo impilo yami yonke; ngizahlabelela indumiso kuNkulunkulu wami lanini nxa ngisaphila.
I will sing to the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 Sengathi iminakano yami ingamthokozisa, ngoba ngiyathokoza kuThixo.
My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
35 Kodwa sengathi izoni zinganyamalala emhlabeni lezigangi zingabe zisaba khona. Dumisa uThixo, Oh Mphefumulo wami. Dumisa uThixo, Oh Mphefumulo wami.
Let sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
