1 UThixo wathi kuMosi,

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 “Laya abako-Israyeli uthi kubo: ‘Nxa lingena eKhenani, ilizwe elizaliphiwa ukuba libe yisabelo senu lizakuba lale imingcele:

Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, when ye come into the land of Canaan, shall this be the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance: The land of Canaan according to its boundaries.

3 Icele leningizimu yenu lizahlanganisa isigaba esithile seNkangala yaseZini kulandela umngcele we-Edomi. Empumalanga, umngcele wenu weningizimu uzasukela ekucineni koLwandle lweTswayi,

And the southern side shall be unto you from the wilderness of Zin along by the boundary of Edom, and your southern border shall commence at the outmost edge of the Salt Sea on its east side.

4 udabula eningizimu yoMkhandlu weNkume, kusiya ngaseZini njalo kuye eningizimu yeKhadeshi Bhaneya. Usuka lapho uzaqonda eHazari Adari njalo wedlulele e-Azimoni,

And the border shall turn for you from the south of the ascent of 'Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin; and its terminating points shall be to the south of Kadesh-barnea', and shall go on to Chazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon;

5 lapho ozajika khona, kuhlangane lesiHotsha saseGibhithe njalo uyephelela oLwandle lwaseMedithereniyeni.

And the border shall turn from 'Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and its terminating points shall be at the sea.

6 Umngcele wenu wentshonalanga uzakuba ligumbi loLwandle oLukhulu. Lo uzakuba ngumngcele wenu entshonalanga.

And as the western border, shall ye have the Great Sea for a border: this shall be your western border.

7 Okomngcele wenu wenyakatho, usekela uLwandle oLukhulu usiya eNtabeni yaseHori

And this shall be unto you the northern border: from the Great Sea shall ye mark out for you [the boundary to] mount Hor;

8 njalo usuka eNtabeni yaseHori uye eLebho Hamathi. Umngcele uzasuka lapho uqonde eZedadi,

From mount Hor shall ye mark out [the boundary] unto the entrance of Chamath; and the terminations of the border shall be toward Zedad;

9 ubusuqhubeka usiya eZifironi uze uyekuma eHazari-Enani. Lo yiwo umngcele wenu enyakatho.

And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and its terminating points shall be at Chazar'-enan: this shall be unto you the northern border.

10 Okomngcele wenu wempumalanga, sukelani eHazari-Enani kusiya eShefamu.

And ye shall turn yourselves to the eastern border, from Chazar-'enan to Shepham;

11 Umngcele uzakwehla usuka eShefamu usiya eRibhila engempumalanga kwe-Ayini njalo uqhubeke ulandela umthezuko empumalanga koLwandle lwaseKhinerethi.

And the boundary shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, to the eastward of 'Ayin; and the boundary shall descend, and shall touch upon the coast of the sea of Kinnereth, eastward;

12 Kusuka lapho umngcele uzakwehla ulandela umfula uJodani uze uyecina oLwandle lweTswayi. Leli lizakuba yilizwe lenu, ngemingcele yalo inxa zonke.’”

And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its terminating points shall be at the Salt Sea: this shall be your land after its boundaries round about.

13 UMosi walaya abako-Israyeli wathi: “Yabelanani lelilizwe ngenkatho njengelifa lenu. UThixo usekhuphe isiqondiso sokuthi aliphiwe izizwana eziyisificamunwemunye kanye lesizwana esiyingxenye,

And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall divide among yourselves by lot, which the Lord hath commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.

14 ngenxa yokuthi abezimuli zesizwana sikaRubheni, abesizwana sikaGadi kanye lengxenye yesizwana sikaManase sebethole isabelo sabo.

For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their family divisions, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to their family divisions, have received, —and the half of the tribe of Menasseh have received their inheritance;

15 Izizwana lezi ezimbili kanye lalesi esiyingxenye sezithole isabelo sazo empumalanga komfula uJodani malungana leJerikho, ngokuya ngempumalanga.”

The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan opposite Jericho eastward, toward the rising of the sun.

16 UThixo wathi kuMosi,

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

17 “La ngamabizo amadoda azalabela ilizwe njengelifa lenu: u-Eliyazari umphristi kanye loJoshuwa indodana kaNuni.

These are the names of the men who shall parcel out unto you the land: Elazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.

18 Beselikhetha umkhokheli oyedwa esizwaneni ngasinye ukuncedisa ukwaba ilizwe:

And one prince each from every tribe shall ye take to parcel out the land.

19 La yiwo amabizo abo: uKhalebi indodana kaJefune, owesizwana sakoJuda;

And these are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Yephunneh:

20 uShemuyeli indodana ka-Amihudi, owesizwana sakoSimiyoni;

And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of 'Ammihud;

21 u-Elidadi indodana kaKhisiloni, owesizwana sakoBhenjamini;

Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Kisslon;

22 uBhukhi indodana kaJogili, umkhokheli ovela esizwaneni sakoDani;

And of the tribe of the children of Dan the prince, Bukki the son of Yogli;

23 uHaniyeli indodana ka-Efodi, ongumkhokheli ovela esizwaneni sikaManase indodana kaJosefa;

Of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Menasseh the prince, Channiel the son of Ephod;

24 uKhemuweli indodana kaShifuthani, engumkhokheli ovela esizwaneni sako-Efrayimi indodana kaJosefa;

And of the tribe of the children of Ephraim the prince, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;

25 u-Elizafani indodana kaPhanaki, umkhokheli ovela esizwaneni sikaZebhuluni;

And of the tribe of the children of Zebulun the prince, Elizaphan the son of Parnach;

26 uPhalithiyeli indodana ka-Azani, umkhokheli ovela esizwaneni sika-Isakhari,

And of the tribe of the children of Issachar the prince, Paltiel the son of 'Azzan;

27 u-Ahihudi indodana kaShelomi, umkhokheli ovela esizwaneni sika-Asheri;

And of the tribe of the children of Asher the prince, Achihud the son of Shelomi;

28 uPhedaheli indodana ka-Amihudi, umkhokheli ovela esizwaneni sikaNafithali.”

And of the tribe of the children of Naphtali the prince, Pedahel the son of 'Ammihud.

29 La yiwo amadoda uThixo alaya ukuthi ahlukanisele abako-Israyeli isabelo sabo selizwe laseKhenani.

These are they whom the Lord hath commanded to divide out the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
