1 UThixo wathi kuMosi lo-Aroni:
And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
2 “Abako-Israyeli bazahlala ezihonqweni begombolozele ithente lokuhlangana bucwadlana lalo, indoda ngayinye ngaphansi kophawu lwayo kanye lezibonakaliso zendlu yayo.”
“The sons of Israel encamp, each by his standard, with ensigns of the house of their fathers; they encamp around, from in sight of the Tent of Meeting.”
3 Empumalanga, isigaba sezihonqo zakoJuda sizakuba ngaphansi kophawu lwazo. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoJuda nguNahashoni indodana ka-Aminadabi.
And those encamping eastward toward the sun-rising [are] of the standard of the camp of Judah, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Judah [is] Nahshon, son of Amminadab;
4 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi ayisikhombisa lane, lamakhulu ayisithupha.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
5 Izihonqo zesizwana sika-Isakhari zibe seduze khonapho. Umkhokheli wabantu besizwana sika-Isakhari nguNethaneli indodana kaZuwari.
And those encamping by him [are] of the tribe of Issachar; and the prince of the sons of Issachar [is] Nethaneel son of Zuar;
6 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amahlanu lane, lamakhulu amane.
and his host, and its numbered ones, [are] fifty-four thousand and four hundred.
7 Kulandele isizwana sikaZebhuluni. Umkhokheli wabantu besizwana sikaZebhuluni ngu-Eliyabi indodana kaHeloni.
The tribe of Zebulun [is with them]; and the prince of the sons of Zebulun [is] Eliab son of Helon;
8 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amahlanu lasikhombisa, lamakhulu amane.
and his host, and its numbered ones, [are] fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.
9 Wonke amadoda akhethelwe izihonqo zakoJuda, ngamaviyo awo, azinkulungwane ezilikhulu lamatshumi ayisificamunwemunye lesithupha, lamakhulu amane. Yibo abazaqala ukusuka.
All those numbered of the camp of Judah [are] one hundred thousand and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred, by their hosts; they journey first.
10 Eningizimu kuzakuba ngamaviyo ezihonqo zikaRubheni ngaphansi kophawu lwazo. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoRubheni ngu-Elizuri indodana kaShedewuri.
The standard of the camp of Reuben [is] southward, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Reuben [is] Elizur son of Shedeur;
11 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amane lesithupha, lamakhulu amahlanu.
and his host, and its numbered ones, [are] forty-six thousand and five hundred.
12 Izihonqo zesizwana sikaSimiyoni zibe seduzane khonapho. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoSimiyoni nguShelumiyeli indodana kaZurishadayi.
And those encamping by him [are of] the tribe of Simeon; and the prince of the sons of Simeon [is] Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
13 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amahlanu lasificamunwemunye, lamakhulu amathathu.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.
14 Kulandele isizwana sikaGadi. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoGadi ngu-Eliyasafi indodana kaRuweli.
And the tribe of Gad [is with him]; and the prince of the sons of Gad [is] Eliasaph son of Reuel;
15 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amane lanhlanu, lamakhulu ayisithupha alamatshumi amahlanu.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.
16 Wonke amadoda akhethelwe izihonqo zakoRubheni ngamaviyo awo azinkulungwane ezilikhulu lamatshumi amahlanu lanye, lamakhulu amane alamatshumi amahlanu. Bazakuba ngabesibili ukusuka.
All those numbered of the camp of Reuben [are] one hundred thousand and fifty-one thousand and four hundred and fifty, by their hosts; and they journey second.
17 Emva kwalokho kuzasuka ithente lokuhlangana labezihonqo zabaLevi konke kube phakathi kwamaviyo ezihonqo. Bonke abantu bazalandelana ekuhambeni kwabo njengokuma kwezihonqo zabo kube yilowo lalowo endaweni yakhe ngaphansi kophawu lwakhe.
And the Tent of Meeting has journeyed [with] the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps; as they encamp so they journey, each at his station by their standards.
18 Entshonalanga kuzakuba: ngamaviyo ezihonqo zika-Efrayimi ngaphansi kophawu lwawo. Umkhokheli wabantu bako-Efrayimi ngu-Elishama indodana ka-Amihudi.
The standard of the camp of Ephraim, by their hosts, [is] westward; and the prince of the sons of Ephraim [is] Elishama son of Ammihud;
19 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amane lamakhulu amahlanu.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] forty thousand and five hundred.
20 Isizwana sikaManase sibe seduzane khonapho. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoManase nguGamaliyeli indodana kaPhedazuri.
And by him [is] the tribe of Manasseh; and the prince of the sons of Manasseh [is] Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
21 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amathathu lambili, lamakhulu amabili.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
22 Kulandele isizwana sikaBhenjamini. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoBhenjamini ngu-Abhidani indodana kaGidiyoni.
And the tribe of Benjamin [is with them]; and the prince of the sons of Benjamin [is] Abidan son of Gideoni;
23 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amathathu lanhlanu, lamakhulu amane.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] thirty-five thousand and four hundred.
24 Wonke amadoda ayekhethelwe izihonqo zako-Efrayimi, ngokwamaviyo awo, ayezinkulungwane ezilikhulu lasificaminwembili lekhulu. Bazakuba ngabesithathu ekusukeni.
All those numbered of the camp of Ephraim [are] one hundred thousand and eight thousand and one hundred, by their hosts; and they journey third.
25 Enyakatho kuzakuba ngamaviyo ezihonqo zikaDani, ngaphansi kophawu lwawo. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoDani ngu-Ahiyezeri indodana ka-Amishadayi.
The standard of the camp of Dan [is] northward, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Dan [is] Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
26 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi ayisithupha lambili, lamakhulu ayisikhombisa.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
27 Izihonqo zesizwana sika-Asheri zibe seduzane khonapho. Umkhokheli wabantu bako-Asheri nguPhagiyeli indodana ka-Okhirani.
And those encamping by him [are of] the tribe of Asher; and the prince of the sons of Asher [is] Pagiel son of Ocran;
28 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amane lanye, lamakhulu amahlanu.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] forty-one thousand and five hundred.
29 Kulandele isizwana sikaNafithali. Umkhokheli wabantu bakoNafithali ngu-Ahira indodana ka-Enani.
And the tribe of Naphtali [is with them]; and the prince of the sons of Naphtali [is] Ahira son of Enan;
30 Iviyo lakhe lizinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amahlanu lantathu, lamakhulu amane.
and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
31 Wonke amadoda ezihonqo zakoDani azinkulungwane ezilikhulu lamatshumi amahlanu lesikhombisa, lamakhulu ayisithupha. Bazasuka ekucineni, ngaphansi kophawu lwabo.
All those numbered of the camp of Dan [are] one hundred thousand and fifty-seven thousand and six hundred; they journey at the rear by their standards.
32 Laba yibo abako-Israyeli, ababalwa ngezindlu zabo. Bonke labo ababesezihonqweni, ngamaviyo abo, inani labo kuzinkulungwane ezingamakhulu ayisithupha lantathu, lamakhulu amahlanu alamatshumi amahlanu.
These [are] those numbered of the sons of Israel by the house of their fathers; all those numbered of the camps by their hosts [are] six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
33 AbaLevi bona kababalwanga ndawonye labanye bonke abako-Israyeli njengokulaywa kukaMosi nguThixo.
And the Levites have not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, as YHWH has commanded Moses.
34 Ngakho abako-Israyeli benza konke uThixo ayelaye ngakho uMosi; kwaba yiyo indlela abahlala ngayo ezihonqweni ngaphansi kwempawu zabo, njalo yiyo indlela ababesuka ngayo nxa sekuhanjwa, munye ngamunye ngesizwana sakibo langendlu yakhe.
And the sons of Israel do according to all that YHWH has commanded Moses; so they have encamped by their standards, and so they have journeyed, each by his families, by the house of his fathers.
