1 UJesu wathi ekhangela wabona izinothi zifaka iminikelo yazo esitsheni somnikelo.
And He looked up and saw the rich people bringing their gifts to the treasury:
2 Wabona njalo umfelokazi ongumyanga efaka okuzinhlamvana kwethusi okubili.
and He saw also a poor widow throwing in two mites.
3 Wathi, “Ngilitshela iqiniso ngithi umfelokazi lo ongumyanga unikele okudlula bonke abanye.
And He said, Verily I tell you, this poor widow hath put in more than they all.
4 Bonke lababantu banikele izipho zabo ngokwenotho yabo, kodwa yena ebuyangeni bakhe ufake konke abelakho.”
For all these have out of their abundance contributed to the offerings of God: but she out of her penury hath given all she had.
5 Abanye abafundi bakhe babekhulukhuluma ngokubalazwa kwethempeli ngamatshe amahle langezipho ezazinikelwe kuNkulunkulu. Kodwa uJesu wathi,
And as some were speaking of the temple; how it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts, He said, As for these things which ye see,
6 “Mayelana lalokhu elikubona lapha, sizafika isikhathi lapho okungeyikutshiywa ilitshe phezu kwelinye; wonke azaphoselwa phansi.”
the days will come, in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be demolished.
7 Babuza bathi, “Mfundisi, izinto lezi zizakwenzakala nini? Njalo sizakuba yini isibonakaliso sokuthi sezizakwenzeka na?”
And they asked Him, saying, Master, when shall these things be? And what will be the sign when these things shall come to pass?
8 Waphendula wathi, “Qaphelani lingakhohliswa. Ngoba abanengi bazakuza ngebizo lami besithi, ‘Nginguye,’ njalo bathi, ‘Isikhathi sesisondele.’ Lingabalandeli.
And He said, Take heed that ye be not deceived; for many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and the time is near: but do not therefore go after them.
9 Nxa lisizwa ngezimpi lezikhukhulambuso, lingethuki. Lezizinto kuzamele zenzeke kuqala, kodwa isiphetho kasizukufika ngalesosikhathi.”
And when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these must first happen; but the end will not be directly.
10 Wasesithi kubo: “Isizwe sizavukela isizwe, lombuso uvukele umbuso.
Then said He unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;
11 Kuzakuba lokuzamazama komhlaba okukhulu, indlala lezifo ezindaweni ezinengi, izehlakalo ezesabekayo lezibonakaliso ezinengi zivela emkhathini.
and there will be great earthquakes in several places, and famines, and pestilences, and fearful sights and great prodigies from heaven.
12 Kodwa kungakenzakali konke lokhu bazalibamba, balihlukuluze. Bazalinikela emasinagogweni baliphosele lasezintolongweni njalo lizamiswa phambi kwamakhosi lababusi ngenxa yebizo lami.
But before all these things they will lay hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues, and prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake:
13 Lokhu kuzalenza libe ngofakazi kimi.
but it shall be for a testimony to you.
14 Kodwa bekani amaphaphu phansi, lingazihluphi ngokuthi lizazivikela lisithini.
Fix it therefore in your hearts not to premeditate a defence: for I will give you a mouth and wisdom,
15 Ngoba ngizalinika amazwi lokuhlakanipha ukuze angabikhona ezitheni zenu ozalehlula loba aliphikise.
which all your adversaries shall not be able to contradict nor withstand.
16 Lizanikelwa ngabazali, ngabafowenu layizihlobo labangane njalo abanye benu bazalibulala.
But ye shall be betrayed even by parents, and brethren, and kindred and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death:
17 Bonke abantu bazalizonda ngenxa yami.
and ye will be hated by all men for my sake.
18 Kodwa kakuyikubhubha lanwele olulodwa emakhanda enu.
But not an hair of your head shall perish.
19 Bekezelani, lizasindiswa.
In your patience therefore possess your souls.
20 Lingabona iJerusalema isihonqolozelwe yizimpi lizakwazi ukuthi incithakalo isisondele.
And when ye shall see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh: then let them that are in Judea flee to the mountains,
21 Lapho-ke akuthi labo abaseJudiya babalekele ezintabeni, abasedolobheni kabaphume, kuthi labo abasemaphandleni bangangeni edolobheni.
and those that are in the midst of it, depart; and let not them that are in the countries enter into it.
22 Ngoba lesi yisikhathi sokujeziswa ukugcwalisa konke okwalotshwayo.
For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 Yeka ubulukhuni obuzakuba khona ngalezonsuku kwabesifazane abakhulelweyo labangabadlezane! Kuzakuba khona ukuhlukuluzeka okukhulu elizweni lolaka phezu kwabantu.
But wo to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days; for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people,
24 Bazakuwa ngenkemba babuthwe babe yizibotshwa zezizwe zonke. IJerusalema izagidagidwa ngabeZizwe kuze kugcwaliseke izikhathi zabeZizwe.
and they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trampled down by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles too shall be fulfilled.
25 Kuzabakhona izibonakaliso elangeni, enyangeni lasezinkanyezini. Emhlabeni izizwe zizakuba phakathi kosizi lokudideka ngenxa yokuhuba lokukhaphaza kolwandle.
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity, the sea and the waves roring:
26 Abantu bazaphela amandla ngokwesaba, behlutshwa yilokho okuzayo emhlabeni, ngoba izisekelo zasezulwini zizazanyazanyiswa.
and men ready to die for fear and apprehension of the things that are coming upon the land; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 Ngalesosikhathi bazayibona iNdodana yoMuntu isiza ngeyezi ilamandla lenkazimulo enkulu.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming, as on a cloud, with power and great glory.
28 Nxa lezizinto seziqala ukwenzakala manini liqine, liphakamise amakhanda enu, ngoba ukuhlengwa kwenu sekusondela.”
But when these things begin to come to pass, look upwards and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.
29 Wabatshela umfanekiso lo wathi, “Khangelani esihlahleni somkhiwa kanye lezinye zonke izihlahla.
And He spake a parable to them, Behold the fig-tree,
30 Nxa zihluma lizazibonela lani njalo lazi ukuthi ihlobo selisondele.
and all the trees, when they shoot out, ye see and know of yourselves that summer is now near:
31 Kanjalo-ke, nxa lingabona lezizinto sezisenzakala, lazi ukuthi umbuso kaNkulunkulu ususondele.
so likewise know ye, when ye see these things coming to pass, that the kingdom of God is at hand.
32 Ngilitshela iqiniso, lesisizukulwane kasiyikudlula zize zenzakale zonke lezizinto.
Verily I tell you, this generation shall not pass away till all be accomplished.
33 Izulu lomhlaba kuzedlula, kodwa amazwi ami kawayikwedlula lanini.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
34 Nanzelelani funa inhliziyo zenu zithundubale ngokuzitika lokudakwa lokunqineka ngezinto zalimpilo, ngoba lolosuku luzalijuma njengomjibila.
Take heed to yourselves, least at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and the cares of life, and so that day should come upon you unawares:
35 Ngoba luzafikela bonke labo abahlala kuwo wonke umhlaba.
for as a snare shall it come upon all that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Hlalani lilindile, likhulekele ukuthi liphephe kukho konke osekuzakwenzeka masinyane, lokuthi libe lamandla okuma phambi kweNdodana yoMuntu.”
Watch therefore and be constant in prayer, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things, which shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
37 Insuku zonke uJesu wayefundisa ethempelini kuthi kusihlwa aphume ayechitha ubusuku eqaqeni olwaluthiwa yiNtaba yama-Oliva,
Thus He was by day teaching in the temple; and at night He retired to the mount called the mount of Olives.
38 njalo abantu bonke babesiza ekuseni kakhulu ukuzamuzwa ethempelini.
And all the people came early in the morning to Him in the temple to hear Him.
