1 Ngosuku lwesithathu kwaba khona umthimba eKhana laseGalile. Unina kaJesu wayekhona,
AND on the third day there was a feast in Kotna, a city of Galila; and the mother of Jeshu was there:
2 loJesu labafundi bakhe labo babenxusiwe emthimbeni.
and Jeshu and his disciples were called to the feast.
3 Kwathi iwayini seliphelile unina kaJesu wathi kuye, “Sebephelelwe liwayini.”
And the wine failed, and his mother saith to him, to Jeshu, They have no wine.
4 UJesu waphendula wathi, “Mama, mina lawe singena njani kulokho na? Isikhathi sami kasikafiki.”
Jeshu saith to her, What (is it) to me and to thee, woman? Not yet hath come mine hour.
5 Unina wasesithi ezincekwini, “Libokwenza loba kuyini azalitshela khona.”
His mother saith to the servitors, Whatever he telleth you, do.
6 Eduze kwalapho kwakumi imbiza zamatshe eziyisithupha, uhlobo lolo amaJuda ayelusebenzisa enkonzweni yokuzihlambulula, imbiza yinye ingagcwala amalitha alikhulu kusiya ekhulwini elilamatshumi amahlanu.
Now there were six waterpots of stone set there, unto the purification of the Jihudoyee, which contained each two quarantals or three.
7 UJesu wathi ezincekwini, “Zigcwaliseni amanzi imbiza lezi”; ngakho bazigcwalisa zathi phamu.
Jeshu saith to them, Fill these water-pots with waters; and they filled them to the top.
8 Wasezitshela wathi, “Khanini-ke liphe umphathi wedili.” Benza njalo,
He saith to them, Draw now, and carry to the chief of the guests. And they carried.
9 umphathi wedili wahubula wawanambitha amanzi ayesephendulwe abaliwayini. Kakwazanga ukuthi lavela ngaphi, kodwa izinceku ezaziwakhile amanzi zazisazi. Wasebizela umyeni eceleni
And when that chief of the guests had tasted those waters which were made wine, and knew not whence it was, (but the servitors knew, who had filled them with waters, ) the chief of the guests called the bridegroom,
10 wathi, “Wonke umuntu uletha iwayini elimnandi kuqala, kuthi nxa izethekeli sezinathe kakhulu abesekhupha elibi; kodwa wena ugodle elimnandi kuze kube khathesi.”
and said to him, Every man at first the good wine produceth, and when they are satisfied, then that which is inferior; but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 Lo waba ngumangaliso wakhe wokuqala, uJesu awenza eKhana laseGalile. Wabonakalisa kanjalo inkazimulo yakhe, abafundi bakhe basebebeka ukholo lwabo kuye.
This is the first sign that Jeshu wrought in Kotna of Galila, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
12 Ngemva komthimba wasuka waya eKhaphenawume wayahlala insukwana ezimbalwa elonina, labafowabo labafundi bakhe.
AFTER this he went to Kapher-nachum, he and his mother and his brethren and his disciples. And they were there a few days.
13 Kwasekuyisikhathi sePhasika lamaJuda eleminyaka yonke, uJesu wasesiya eJerusalema.
And the petscha of the Jihudoyee was nigh, and Jeshu went up to Urishlem.
14 Emagumeni ethempeli wafumana abantu bethengisa inkomo, izimvu lamajuba, labanye behlezi ematafuleni bentshintsha izimali.
And he found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting.
15 Waseseluka izintambo wenza isaswebhu wabadudula bonke emagumeni ethempeli, konke izimvu lenkomo; wayichithiza imali yabantshintshi bayo, wagenqula lamatafula abo.
And he made him a scourge of cord, and drove them all from the temple, and the sheep and the oxen and the money-changers; and he shed their money, and their tables he overturned.
16 Wathi kulabo ababethengisa amajuba, “Akhupheni lapha! Likuthatha ngaphi ukwenza indlu kaBaba umsika wokuthengiselana na?”
And to those who sold doves he said, Take these hence; make not the house of my Father a house of merchandise.
17 Abafundi bakhe bakhumbula ukuthi kulotshiwe ukuthi: “Ukunqinekela indlu yakho kuzangidla ngaphakathi.”
And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thy house hath devoured me.
18 Lapho amaJuda asemncindezela ngokuthi, “Ungasitshengisa simangaliso bani ukubonisa amandla akho okwenza zonke lezizinto?”
The Jihudoyee answered and said to him, What sign showest thou to us, as these things thou doest?
19 Wabaphendula uJesu wathi, “Dilizani ithempeli leli, kodwa mina ngizalimisa njalo ngezinsuku ezintathu.”
Jeshu answered, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it.
20 AmaJuda aphendula athi, “Sekuthethe iminyaka engamatshumi amane lesithupha ukwakha ithempeli leli, kodwa wena ungalivusa ngezinsuku ezintathu na?”
The Jihudoyee say to him, Forty-and six years was this temple being built, and wilt thou in three days raise it?
21 Kodwa ithempeli ayekhulume ngalo kwakungumzimba wakhe.
But he spake of the temple of his body.
22 Ngemva kokuvuswa kwabafileyo abafundi bakhe bakukhumbula lokho ayekukhulumile. Ngakho bawukholwa uMbhalo kanye lamazwi uJesu awakhulumayo.
But when he was risen from the house of the dead, his disciples remembered that this he had said; and they believed the scriptures, and the word which Jeshu had spoken.
23 Kwathi ngesikhathi eseMkhosini wePhasika eJerusalema, abantu abanengi bayibona imimangaliso ayeyenza basebekholwa ebizweni lakhe.
WHILE Jeshu was in Jerusalem at the petscha, at the feast, Many believed in him who saw the signs which he wrought.
24 Kodwa uJesu kazange azidele kubo, ngoba wayebazi bonke abantu.
But he, Jeshu, did not confide himself to them, because he knew every man,
25 Wayengabudingi ubufakazi bomuntu ngoba wayekwazi okungaphakathi komuntu munye ngamunye.
and needed not that any should testify to him concerning any man, because he knew what is in man.
