1 Wasephendula uJobe wathi:
And he answered Job and he said.
2 “Nxa ubuhlungu bami bungalinganiswa lokuhlupheka kwami konke kufakwe esikalini!
Certainly [if] it will be weighed grief my (and destruction my *Q(K)*) in [the] balances people will raise together.
3 Ngempela bungasinda ukwedlula itshebetshebe yolwandle, akungamangalisi ukuthi amazwi ami abhede kanje.
For now more than [the] sand of [the] seas it will be heavy there-fore words my they have been rash.
4 Imitshoko kaSomandla iphakathi kwami, umoya wami unatha itshefu yayo; inhlupho zokuhlukuluza zikaNkulunkulu ziqondiswe kimi.
For [the] arrows of [the] Almighty [are] with me which poison their [is] drinking spirit my [the] terrors of God they are arranged against me.
5 Kambe ubabhemi weganga uyakhala yini utshani bukhona, loba inkabi ikhonye yona ukudla ilakho?
¿ Does it bray a wild donkey on grass or? does it low an ox on fodder its.
6 Ukudla okuduma kuyadleka na kungelatswayi, kumbe okumhlophe kweqanda kuyanambitheka yini?
¿ Is it eaten tasteless [food] because not salt or? [is] there taste in [the] slime of purslane.
7 Ngiyala ukukuthinta; ukudla okunjalo kubuyisa inhliziyo yami.

8 Oh, aluba ngingazuza isicelo sami, uNkulunkulu angiphe lokho engikufisayo,

9 ukuthi uNkulunkulu avume ukungichoboza, ekele nje isandla sakhe singiqede!
And may he be willing God and may he crush me may he loosen hand his and may he cut off me.
10 Lalapho ngizabe ngilokhu ngilale induduzo intokozo yami ebuhlungwini obungadediyo, ukuthi bengingawaphikanga amazwi akhe oNgcwele.
And may it be still - comfort my and may I jump in anguish [which] not it relents that not I have hidden [the] words of [the] holy [one].
11 Ngilamandla bani okuthi ngibe lokhu ngithemba? Ngisamelelwe yini ukuba ngibe ngilokhu ngibekezela?
What? [is] strength my that I will wait and what? [is] end my that I will prolong life my.
12 Ngilamandla elitshe yini? Inyama yami ilithusi na?
[the] strength of Stones [is] strength my or? [is] flesh my bronze.
13 Ngilawo yini amandla okuzisiza, manje njengoba sengemukwe impumelelo?
¿ If not [is] help my in myself and sound wisdom it has been banished from me.
14 Iloba ngubani ogodla umusa kumkhula wakhe udela ukwesaba uSomandla.

15 Kodwa abafowethu kabathenjwa njengemifula egeleza icitsha, njengemifula echithayo

16 ileliqhwa eselincibilika, njalo igcwele ngongqwaqwane osencibilikile,

19 Indwendwe zamakamela aseThema zidinga amanzi, abathengisi baseShebha balinde bethembile.
They look [the] caravans of Tema [the] travelers of Sheba they look eagerly for them.
20 Bayadana ngoba bebekade bethembile; bayafika khonale bafike badane.

21 Lani selitshengise ukuthi kalilancedo; libona into eyesabekayo beselisesaba.

22 Sengake ngatsho yini ukuthi, ‘Ake lingihlawulele lokhu, ngihlengani ngempahla yenu,

23 ngikhululani esandleni sesitha, ngihlengani ekufithizelweni ngabalesihluku’?
And rescue me from [the] hand of an opponent and from [the] hand of ruthless [people] you will ransom me.
24 Ngifundisani, ngizathula; ake lingitshengise lapho engiphambanise khona.
Teach me and I I will keep silent and what? have I erred explain to me.
25 Abuhlungu kanganani amazwi eqiniso! Kodwa ukuphikisa kwenu kutshengisani?

29 Dedani, lingenzi okungaqondanga; khumbulani kutsha, phela ubuqotho bami busengozini.
