1 UJobe wasephendula wathi:
Then Job answered:
2 “Usumsize njani ongelamandla! Usuyilamulele njani ingalo ebuthakathaka!
“How you have helped the powerless and saved the arm that is feeble!
3 Yiseluleko esinjani osusiphe lowo ongelakuhlakanipha! Njalo usubonise mbono bani!
How you have counseled the unwise and provided fully sound insight!
4 Ngubani okuncedisileyo ukukhuluma amazwi la na? Ngokabani umoya okhulume ngomlomo wakho na?
To whom have you uttered these words? And whose spirit spoke through you?
5 Abafileyo basebuhlungwini obukhulu, labo abangaphansi kwamanzi lalabo abahlala kuwo.
The dead tremble— those beneath the waters and those who dwell in them.
Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering. (Sheol h7585)
7 Uyawendlala umkhathi wenyakatho endaweni engelalutho; aphanyeke umhlaba phezu kweze.
He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth upon nothing.
8 Ugoqele amanzi emayezini akhe, kodwa amayezi kawapatshaki yikusindwa ngamanzi.
He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their own weight.
9 Uyayigubuzela inyanga egcweleyo, endlale amayezi phezu kwayo.
He covers the face of the full moon, spreading over it His cloud.
10 Umisa umkhawulo wokwengama umkhathi emanzini kube ngumngcele phakathi kokukhanya lobumnyama.
He has inscribed a horizon on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.
11 Izinsika zamazulu ziyazamazama, zisethuswa yikukhuza kwakhe.
The foundations of heaven quake, astounded at His rebuke.
12 Ngamandla akhe waluthulisa ulwandle; ngenhlakanipho yakhe waquma uRahabi waba yiziqa.
By His power He stirred the sea; by His understanding He shattered Rahab.
13 Ngomoya wakhe umkhathi wacethula; isandla sakhe sayigwaza inyoka ibaleka.
By His breath the skies were cleared; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
14 Njalo le yimisebenzi yakhe engaphandle nje ekucineni; esikuzwayo yilizwana nje lokunyenyeza kwakhe! Pho ngubani ongawuzwisisa umdumo wamandla akhe na?”
Indeed, these are but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?”
