1 Kwelinye ilanga njalo izingilosi zeza phambi kukaThixo, loSathane laye weza lazo ukuzezethula kuye.
And it was the day and they came [the] sons of God to present themselves on Yahweh and he came also the adversary in midst of them to present himself on Yahweh.
2 UThixo wasesithi kuSathane, “Uvela ngaphi?” USathane wamphendula wathi, “Ngivela ekuzulazuleni emhlabeni, ngihambahamba ngisiya le lale kuwo.”
And he said Yahweh to the adversary where? from this are you coming and he answered the adversary Yahweh and he said from roving about on the earth and from going about on it.
3 UThixo wasesithi kuSathane, “Usuke wayinanzelela yini inceku yami uJobe? Kakho emhlabeni onjengaye; kalasici, uqondile, indoda emesabayo uNkulunkulu, exwaya okubi. Ulokhu emi kubo ubuqotho bakhe lanxa wangiphoqa ukuthi ngimdilize kungelasizatho.”
And he said Yahweh to the adversary ¿ have you set heart your to servant my Job for there not [is] like him on the earth a man blameless and upright fearing God and [who] turns aside from evil and still he [is] keeping hold on integrity his and you incited me against him to ruin him without cause.
4 USathane waphendula wathi, “Isikhumba ngesikhumba! Umuntu anganikela loba yini alayo ukusiza impilo yakhe.
And he answered the adversary Yahweh and he said skin for skin and all that [belongs] to the man he will give for life his.
5 Kodwa yelula isandla sakho umtshaye inyama lamathambo akhe, uzabona uzakuthuka ebusweni bakho.”
But stretch out please hand your and touch bone his and flesh his if not to face your he will bless you.
6 UThixo wathi kuSathane, “Kulungile, usezandleni zakho, kodwa ungayithinti impilo yakhe.”
And he said Yahweh to the adversary there he [is] in hand your surely life his preserve.
7 Ngakho uSathane wasesuka phambi kukaThixo wathela uJobe izilonda ezibuhlungu kusukela ngaphansi kwezinyawo zakhe kusiyafika esicholo sekhanda lakhe.
And he went out the adversary from with [the] presence of Yahweh and he struck Job with boil[s] bad from [the] sole of foot his (and to *Q(K)*) scalp his.
8 UJobe wasethatha ucezu lodengezi wazihwaya ngalo ehlezi esilotheni.
And he took for himself a potsherd to scrape himself with it and he [was] sitting in [the] midst the ash[es].
9 Umkakhe wathi kuye, “Ulokhu ubambelele kubo ubuqotho bakho na? Mthuke uNkulunkulu uzifele!”
And she said to him wife his [are] still? you keeping hold on integrity your bless God and die.
10 Wamphendula wathi, “Ukhuluma njengomfazi oyisiwula. Sizakwamukela okuhle kuNkulunkulu singalwamukeli uhlupho na?” Kukho konke lokhu uJobe kenzanga isono ngakutshoyo.
And he said to her as speaks one of the foolish women you are speaking also the good will we accept? from with God and the evil not will we accept? in all this not he sinned Job with lips his.
11 Kwathi abangane bakaJobe abathathu, u-Elifazi umThemani, uBhilidadi umShuhi loZofari umNahama sebezwile ngazozonke inhlupho ezazimwele, basuka emakhaya abo bahlangana bavumelana ukuthi bahambe bayomqinisa njalo bamduduze.
And they heard [the] three - [the] friends of Job all the evil this that it had come on him and they came each one from own place his Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite and they met by appointment together to come to show sympathy to him and to comfort him.
12 Bathi bembona besesebucwala kabaze bamazi; baqhinqa isililo, badabula izembatho zabo, bathela uthuli emakhanda abo.
And they lifted up eyes their from a distance and not they recognized him and they lifted up voice their and they wept and they tore each one robe his and they sprinkled dust on heads their the heavens towards.
13 Basebehlala phansi laye okwensuku eziyisikhombisa lobusuku obuyisikhombisa. Kakho kubo owatsho ulutho kuye ngoba babona ubuhlungu obukhulu ayephakathi kwabo.
And they sat with him to the ground seven days and seven nights and not [anyone was] speaking to him a word for they saw that it was great the pain exceedingly.
