1 Ngakho kasiyekeleni imfundiso elula ngoKhristu siqhubeke siye ekukhuleni. Kasingasibeki futhi isisekelo sokuphenduka ezenzweni eziholela ekufeni, lezokukholwa kuNkulunkulu,
Therefore having left the word of the primacy of Christ, let us be brought forward to perfection, not again laying a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 lemfundiso ngemibhaphathizo, lokubekwa kwezandla, lokuvuka kwabafileyo kanye lokwahlulelwa okulaphakade. (aiōnios g166)
of doctrine of washings, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios g166)
3 Njalo nxa uNkulunkulu evuma sizakwenza njalo.
And this we will do, if of course God will permit.
4 Akwenzakali kulabo asebake bakhanyiselwa, asebenambithe isipho sasezulwini, asebehlanganyele kuMoya oNgcwele,
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and who tasted of the heavenly gift, and who became partakers of the Holy Spirit,
and who tasted the good word of God and the powers of the coming age, (aiōn g165)
6 njalo nxa behlamuka ukuba babuyiselwe ekuphendukeni ngoba ekulahlekelweni kwabo bayayibethela futhi esiphambanweni iNdodana kaNkulunkulu beyethesa ihlazo phambi kwabantu bonke.
and who fell away, to restore again to repentance, crucifying to themselves the Son of God, and disgracing him publicly.
7 Umhlabathi onatha izulu elihlezi lisina phezu kwawo loveza isilimo esilusizo kulabo abawulimayo uthola isibusiso sikaNkulunkulu.
For the soil that has drunk the rain often coming upon it, and bringing forth vegetation useful for those by whom also it is cultivated, partakes of a blessing from God.
8 Kodwa umhlabathi oveza ameva lokhula kawulasizo njalo usengozini yokuqalekiswa. Ekucineni uzatshiswa.
But producing thorns and thistles it is unfit and near a curse, the end of which is for burning.
9 Kodwa lanxa sikhuluma kanje bazalwane abathandekayo, silethemba lezinto ezingcono ngani, izinto ezilokwenza lokusindiswa.
But we are persuaded better things about you, beloved, and things that have salvation, even though we speak this way.
10 UNkulunkulu ulungile, kasoke awukhohlwe umsebenzi wenu lothando elamtshengisa lona njengoba lasiza abantu bakhe njalo liyaqhubeka libasiza.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work, and the labor of love that ye showed toward his name, having served the sanctified, and who are serving.
11 Sifuna omunye lomunye wenu abonakalise ukukhuthala lokhu kuze kube sekupheleni ukuze ithemba lenu liqiniseke.
And we earnestly desire each of you to show the same diligence toward the full assurance of the hope until the end,
12 Kasifuni ukuba libe ngamavila kodwa ukuba lilingisele labo okwathi ngokukholwa langokubekezela bathola ilifa lalokhu okwakuthenjisiwe.
so that ye may not become lazy, but imitators of those who, through faith and longsuffering, inherit the promises.
13 Lapho uNkulunkulu esenza isithembiso sakhe ku-Abhrahama, njengoba wayengekho omkhulu ayengafunga ngaye, wafunga ngaye yena ngokwakhe
For God who promised to Abraham, since he had none greater to swear by, swore by himself,
14 esithi, “Ngempela ngizakubusisa njalo ngikuphe inzalo enengi.”
saying, Surely indeed, blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
15 Ngakho emva kokulinda ngokubekezela, u-Abhrahama wathola okwakuthenjisiwe.
And this way, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
16 Abantu bafunga ngomunye omkhulu kulabo njalo isifungo siqinisa lokho okutshiwoyo siqede lokuphikisana konke.
For men certainly swear by the greater, and of every dispute with them the oath is final for confirmation.
17 Njengoba uNkulunkulu wathanda ukuba enze ukungaguquki kwesimo senhloso yakhe kube sobala kuzindlalifa zalokho okwathenjiswayo, wakuqinisa ngesifungo.
By which God, wanting to demonstrate more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutableness of his resolve, confirmed it by an oath.
18 UNkulunkulu wenza lokhu ukuze kuthi ngezinto ezimbili ezingaguqulekiyo, uNkulunkulu angeke aqambe amanga ngazo, thina esibaleke sabambelela ethembeni esiliphiwayo sikhuthazeke kakhulu.
So that by two immutable events, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have strong encouragement, having fled for refuge to seize the hope being openly displayed.
19 Silethemba leli njengensika yemiphefumulo yethu, eliqinileyo njalo eligxilileyo. Lingena endaweni engcwele yangaphakathi ngemva kwamakhetheni
Which we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and that enters into the interior of the veil,
