1 Lo ngumlando olotshiweyo ngosendo luka-Adamu. Lapho uNkulunkulu edala umuntu, wamenza ngomfanekiso kaNkulunkulu.
This is the book of the generations of Adam. On the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him:
2 Wabadala, owesilisa lowesifazane wasebabusisa. Wababiza ngokuthi “Ngabantu” emva kokubadala.
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, on the day when they were created.
3 Kwathi u-Adamu esephile iminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi amathathu wathola indodana eyafana laye xathu; wayibiza ngokuthi nguSethi.
And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his likeness, after his image; and called his name Sheth.
4 USethi esezelwe, u-Adamu waphila iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili njalo wayelamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Sheth were eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
5 Isiyonke iminyaka ka-Adamu yayingamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lamatshumi amathathu, wasesifa.
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
6 Kwathi uSethi esephile iminyaka elikhulu lanhlanu waba nguyise ka-Enoshi.
And Sheth lived a hundred and five years, and begat Enosh.
7 Ngemva kokuzala u-Enoshi uSethi waphila iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lesikhombisa, njalo wayelamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Sheth lived after he had begotten Enosh eight hundred and seven years; and he begat sons and daughters.
8 Isiyonke iminyaka eyaphilwa nguSethi yaba ngamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye letshumi lambili, wasesifa.
And all the days of Sheth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
9 Kwathi u-Enoshi esephile iminyaka engamatshumi ayisificamunwemunye wazala uKhenani.
And Enosh lived ninety years, and begat Kenan.
10 Ngemva kokuzala uKhenani, u-Enoshi waphila iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili letshumi lanhlanu njalo waba lamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Enosh lived after he had begotten Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years; and he begat sons and daughters.
11 Isiyonke iminyaka, u-Enoshi waphila iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lanhlanu, wasesifa.
And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
12 Kwathi uKhenani esephile iminyaka engamatshumi ayisikhombisa wazala uMahalaleli.
And Kenan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalalel.
13 Ngemva kokuba esezele uMahalaleli, uKhenani waphila iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lamatshumi amane njalo waba lamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Kenan lived after he had begotten Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years; and he begat sons and daughters
14 Isiyonke iminyaka eyaphilwa nguKhenani yaba ngamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye letshumi, wasesifa.
And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
15 Kwathi uMahalaleli esephile iminyaka engamatshumi ayisithupha lanhlanu, wazala uJaredi.
And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared.
16 Ngemva kokuzala kwakhe uJaredi, uMahalaleli waphila iminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lamatshumi amathathu njalo waba lamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Mahalalel lived after he had begotten Jared eight hundred and thirty years; and he begat sons and daughters.
17 Isiyonke iminyaka eyaphilwa nguMahalaleli yaba ngamakhulu ayisificaminwembili lamatshumi ayisificamunwemunye lanhlanu, wasesifa.
And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years; and he died.
18 UJaredi esephile iminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi ayisithupha lambili, wazala u-Enoki.
And Jared lived a hundred sixty and two years, and begat Enoch.
19 Ngemva kokuzala kwakhe u-Enoki, uJaredi waphila okweminyaka engamakhulu ayisificaminwembili njalo waba lamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
20 Isiyonke iminyaka eyaphilwa nguJaredi yaba ngamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lamatshumi ayisithupha lambili, wasesifa.
And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years; and he died.
21 Kwathi u-Enoki esephile iminyaka engamatshumi ayisithupha lanhlanu, wazala uMethuzela.
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methushelah.
22 Ngemva kokuzala uMethuzela, u-Enoki wahamba loNkulunkulu okweminyaka engamakhulu amathathu njalo waba lamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years; and begat sons and daughters.
23 Isiyonke iminyaka eyaphilwa ngu-Enoki yaba ngamakhulu amathathu lamatshumi ayisithupha lanhlanu.
And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years.
24 U-Enoki wahamba ngokuthembeka loNkulunkulu; wanyamalala, ngoba uNkulunkulu wamthatha.
And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more; for God had taken him.
25 Kwathi uMethuzela esephile okweminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi ayisificaminwembili lesikhombisa wazala uLameki.
And Methushelah lived a hundred eighty and seven years and begat Lemech.
26 Ngemva kokuzala uLameki, uMethuzela waphila iminyaka engamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi ayisificaminwembili lambili njalo waba lamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Methushelah lived after he had begotten Lemech seven hundred eighty and two years; and he begat sons and daughters.
27 Isiyonke iminyaka eyaphilwa nguMethuzela yaba ngamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lamatshumi ayisithupha layisificamunwemunye, wasesifa.
And all the days of Methushelah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died.
28 ULameki esephile iminyaka elikhulu lamatshumi ayisificaminwembili lambili wazala indodana.
And Lemech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son.
29 Wayitha ibizo wathi nguNowa, wathi, “Izasiduduza emsebenzini lasekutshikatshikeni kwethu okubuhlungu ngezandla zethu okubangwa ngumhlabathi uThixo awuthukileyo.”
And he called his name Noach, [[Noah, ]] saying, This one shall comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 Ngemva kokuzalwa kukaNowa, uLameki waphila iminyaka engamakhulu amahlanu lamatshumi ayisificamunwemunye lanhlanu njalo waba lamanye amadodana lamadodakazi.
And Lemech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred ninety and five years; and begat sons and daughters.
31 Isiyonke iminyaka eyaphilwa nguLameki yaba ngamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi ayisikhombisa lesikhombisa, wasesifa.
And all the days of Lemech were seven hundred seventy and seven years; and he died.
32 Ngemva kokuphila iminyaka engamakhulu amahlanu, uNowa wazala uShemu, loHamu loJafethi.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
