Esau tooke his wiues of the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon an Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon an Hiuite,
3 njalo loBhasemathi indodakazi ka-Ishumayeli njalo engudadewabo kaNebhayothi.
And tooke Basemath Ishmaels daughter, sister of Nebaioth.
4 U-Ada wazala u-Elifazi ku-Esawu, uBhasemathi wazala uRuweli,
And Adah bare vnto Esau, Eliphaz: and Basemath bare Reuel.
5 u-Oholibhama wazala uJewushi, loJalamu loKhora. La ayengamadodana ka-Esawu, awazala eKhenani.
Also Aholibamah bare Ieush, and Iaalam, and Korah: these are the sonnes of Esau which were borne to him in the land of Canaan.
6 U-Esawu wathatha omkakhe lamadodana akhe kanye lamadodakazi akhe labo bonke ababesemzini wakhe kanye lezifuyo zakhe lezinye izinyamazana zakhe lempahla zonke ayezizuzile eKhenani, wasuka waya khatshana lomfowabo uJakhobe.
So Esau tooke his wiues and his sonnes, and his daughters, and all the soules of his house, and his flocks, and all his cattell, and all his substance, which he had gotten in the land of Canaan, and went into an other countrey from his brother Iaakob.
7 Imfuyo yabo yayinengi kakhulu okokuthi babengeke bahlale ndawonye; lomhlaba ababehlala kuwo wawungasoze ubathwale bobabili ngenxa yezifuyo zabo.
For their riches were so great, that they could not dwell together, and the lande, wherein they were strangers, coulde not receiue them because of their flockes.
8 Ngakho u-Esawu (kutshiwo u-Edomi) wayakwakha elizweni lamaqaqa elaseSeyiri.
Therefore dwelt Esau in mount Seir: this Esau is Edom.
9 Lo ngumlando ka-Esawu uyise wama-Edomi elizweni lamaqaqa elaseSeyiri.
So these are the generations of Esau father of Edom in mount Seir.
10 La ngamabizo amadodana ka-Esawu: U-Elifazi, indodana yomka-Esawu u-Ada, lo Ruweli indodana yomka-Esawu uBhasemathi.
These are the names of Esaus sonnes: Eliphaz, the sonne of Adah, the wife of Esau, and Reuel the sonne of Bashemath, the wife of Esau.
11 Amadodana ka-Elifazi ayeyila: uThemani, u-Omari, uZefo, uGathamu loKhenazi.
And the sonnes of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Indodana ka-Esawu u-Elifazi wayelomfazi weceleni owayethiwa nguThimina, owamzalela u-Amaleki. Laba babengabazukulu baka-Ada umka-Esawu.
And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esaus sonne, and bare vnto Eliphaz, Amalek: these be the sonnes of Adah Esaus wife.
13 Amadodana kaRuweli ayeyila: uNahathi, uZera, uShama loMiza. Laba bebengabazukulu bomka-Esawu uBhasemathi umka-Esawu.
And these are the sonnes of Reuel: Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sonnes of Bashemath Esaus wife.
14 Amadodana kamka-Esawu u-Oholibhama, indodakazi ka-Ana, njalo engumzukulu kaZibhiyoni, awazalela u-Esawu ayeyila: uJewushi, uJalamu loKhora.
And these were the sonnes of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon Esaus wife: for she bare vnto Esau, Ieush, and Iaalam, and Korah.
15 Laba babezinduna kwabosendo luka-Esawu: Amadodana ka-Elifazi izibulo lika-Esawu: Induna uThemani, u-Omari, uZefo, uKhenazi,
These were Dukes of the sonnes of Esau: the sonnes of Eliphaz, the first borne of Esau: Duke Teman, Duke Omar, Duke Zepho, Duke Kenaz,
16 uKhora, uGathamu, lo-Amaleki. Lezi kwakuzinduna ezidabuka ku-Elifazi, e-Edomi; zazingabazukulu baka-Ada.
Duke Korah, Duke Gatam, Duke Amalek: these are the Dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom: these were the sonnes of Adah.
17 Amadodana kaRuweli indodana ka-Esawu: Izinduna uNahathi, uZera, uShama loMiza. Lezizinduna zazidabuka kuRewuli e-Edomi; zazingabazukulu bakaBhasemathi umka-Esawu.
And these are the sonnes of Reuel Esaus sonne: Duke Nahath, Duke Zerah, Duke Shammah, Duke Mizzah: these are the Dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom: these are the sonnes of Bashemath Esaus wife.
18 Amadodana ka-Oholibhama, umka-Esawu: Izinduna uJewushi, uJalamu loKhora. Lezi kwakuzinduna ezazidabuka kumka-Esawu, u-Oholibhama, indodakazi ka-Ana.
Likewise these were the sonnes of Aholibamah Esaus wife: Duke Ieush, Duke Iaalam, Duke Korah: these Dukes came of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah Esaus wife.
19 La ayengamadodana ka-Esawu (kutshiwo u-Edomi), njalo bona babezinduna zabo.
These are the children of Esau, and these are the Dukes of them: This Esau is Edom.
20 La ayengamadodana kaSeyiri umHori, ababehlala kulowomango: ULothani, uShobhali, uZibhiyoni, u-Ana,
These are the sonnes of Seir the Horite, which inhabited the lande before, Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah.
21 uDishoni, u-Ezeri loDishani. La amadodana kaSeyiri e-Edomi ayeyizinduna zamaHori.
And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the Dukes of the Horites, the sonnes of Seir in the land of Edom.
22 Amadodana kaLothani ayeyila: uHori loHemani. UThimina wayengudadewabo kaLothani.
And the sonnes of Lotan were, Hori and Hemam, and Lotans sister was Timna.
23 Amadodana kaShobhali ayeyila: u-Alivani, uManahathi, u-Ebhali, uShefo lo-Onami.
And the sonnes of Shobal were these: Aluan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Amadodana kaZibhiyoni ayeyila: u-Ayiya lo-Ana. (Lo nguye u-Ana owafumana izintombo zamanzi atshisayo enkangala eselusa obabhemi bakayise uZibhiyoni.)
And these are the sonnes of Zibeon: Both Aiah, and Anah: this was Anah that founde mules in the wildernesse, as he fedde his father Zibeons asses.
25 Abantwana baka-Ana babeyilaba: uDishoni lo-Oholibhama indodakazi ka-Ana.
And the children of Anah were these: Dishon and Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah.
26 Amadodana kaDishoni ayeyila: uHemidani, u-Eshibhani, u-Ithirani loKherani.
Also these are the sonnes of Dishan: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 Amadodana ka-Ezeri ayeyila: uBhilihani, uZavani lo-Akhani.
The sonnes of Ezer are these: Bilhan, and Zaauan, and Akan.
28 Amadodana kaDishani ayeyila: u-Uzi lo-Arani.
The sonnes of Dishan are these: Vz, and Aran.
29 Laba babezinduna zamaHori: ULothani, uShobhali, uZibhiyoni, u-Ana,
These are the Dukes of the Horites: Duke Lotan, Duke Shobal, Duke Zibeon, Duke Anah,
30 uDishoni, u-Ezeri loDishani. Laba babezinduna zamaHori kusiya ngezigaba zabo elizweni laseSeyiri.
Duke Dishon, Duke Ezer, Duke Dishan: these bee the Dukes of the Horites, after their Dukedomes in the land of Seir.
31 La ayengamakhosi abusa e-Edomi kungakabusi inkosi yako-Israyeli:
And these are the Kings that reigned in the lande of Edom, before there reigned any King ouer the children of Israel.
32 UBhela indodana kaBheyori waba yinkosi e-Edomi. Idolobho lakhe lalibizwa ngokuthi yiDinihabha.
Then Bela the sonne of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his citie was Dinhabah.
33 UBhela esefile, uJobhabhi indodana kaZera waseBhozira wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.
And when Bela dyed, Iobab the sonne of Zerah of Bozra reigned in his steade.
34 UJobhabhi esefile, uHushamu waselizweni lamaThemani wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.
When Iobab also was dead, Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his steade.
35 UHushamu esefile, uHadadi indodana kaBhedadi, owanqoba uMidiyani elizweni laseMowabi, wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi. Idolobho lakhe lalibizwa ngokuthi yi-Avithi.
And after the death of Husham, Hadad the sonne of Bedad, which slewe Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his steade, and the name of his citie was Auith.
36 UHadadi esefile, uSamila waseMasirekha wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.
When Hadad was dead, then Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his steade.
37 USamila esefile, uShawuli waseRehobhothi phezu komfula wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.
When Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the riuer, reigned in his steade.
38 UShawuli esefile, uBhali-Hanani indodana ka-Akhibhori wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.
When Shaul dyed, Baal-hanan the sonne of Achbor reigned in his steade.
39 UBhali-Hanani indodana ka-Akhibhori esefile, uHadari wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi. Idolobho lakhe labizwa ngokuthi yiPawu; njalo ibizo lomkakhe lalinguMehethabheli indodakazi kaMathiredi, indodakazi kaMe-Zahabhi.
And after the death of Baal-hanan the sonne of Achbor, Hadad reigned in his stead, and the name of his citie was Pau: and his wiues name Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

Then these are the names of the Dukes of Esau according to their families, their places and by their names: Duke Timna, Duke Aluah, Duke Ietheth,
41 u-Oholibhama, u-Ela, uPhinoni,
Duke Aholibamah, Duke Elah, Duke Pinon,
42 uKhenazi, uThemani, uMibhizari,
Duke Kenaz, Duke Teman, Duke Mibzar,
43 uMagidiyeli lo-Iramu. Lezi kwakuzinduna ze-Edomi, kusiya ngokuhlala kwabo elizweni ababakhe kulo. Lolu yilo-ke usendo luka-Esawu, uyise wama-Edomi.
Duke Magdiel, Duke Iram: these bee the Dukes of Edom, according to their habitations, in the lande of their inheritance. This Esau is the father of Edom.
