1 U-Abhrahama wathutha kuleyondawo waya emangweni waseNegebi wayahlala phakathi kweKhadeshi leShuri. Okwesikhatshana wake wahlala eGerari,

And he set out from there Abraham [the] land of towards the Negev and he dwelt between Kadesh and between Shur and he sojourned in Gerar.

2 lapho u-Abhrahama athi khona ngomkakhe uSara, “Ngudadewethu.” Ngakho u-Abhimelekhi inkosi yaseGerari yathi uSara kalethwe, yazithathela.

And he said Abraham concerning Sarah wife his [is] sister my she and he sent Abimelech [the] king of Gerar and he took Sarah.

3 Kodwa uNkulunkulu wafika ku-Abhimelekhi ephutsheni ebusuku wathi kuye, “Usufile wena ngenxa yomfazi omthetheyo; ngumfazi womnikazi.”

And he came God to Abimelech in a dream the night and he said to him here you [are] about to die on the woman whom you have taken and she [is] married of a husband.

4 Kodwa u-Abhimelekhi wayelokhu engakamthinti, ngakho wathi, “Thixo, uzasibhubhisa isizwe esimsulwa na?

And Abimelech not he had drawn near to her and he said O Lord ¿ a nation also righteous will you kill.

5 Katshongo kimi yini wathi, ‘Ngudadewethu,’ laye katshongo na wathi, ‘Ungumnewethu?’ Lokhu ngikwenze ngenhliziyo emsulwa langezandla ezimhlophe.”

¿ Not he did he say to me [is] sister my she and she also she she said [is] brother my he in [the] integrity of heart my and in [the] innocence of hands my I have done this.

6 Ngalokho uNkulunkulu wasesithi kuye ephutsheni, “Yebo, ngiyakwazi ukuthi lokhu ukwenze ngenhliziyo emsulwa, yikho ngikuthintile ukuthi ungenzi isono kimi. Yikho ngingakuyekelanga wamthinta.

And he said to him God in a dream also I I know that in [the] integrity of heart your you did this and I have restrained also I you from sinning to me there-fore not I have permitted you to touch her.

7 Manje mbuyisele umfazi womuntu, ngoba umuntu lowo ungumphrofethi, uzakukhulekela ukuthi uphile. Kodwa nxa ungambuyiseli, yazi ukuthi wena lakho konke okungokwakho kuzakufa.”

And therefore return [the] wife of the man for [is] a prophet he so he may pray for you and live and if not [are] you returning [her] know that certainly you will die you and all who [belong] to you.

And he rose early Abimelech in the morning and he summoned all servants his and he spoke all the words these in ears their and they were afraid the men exceedingly.

9 U-Abhimelekhi wasebiza u-Abhrahama wathi, “Ukwenzeleni lokhu kithi na? Ngikone ngani uze ulethe ukona okunje phezu kwami lombuso wami na? Wenze kimi izinto okungafanelanga zenziwe.”

And he summoned Abimelech Abraham and he said to him what? have you done to us and what? have I sinned to you for you have brought on me and on kingdom my a sin great deeds which not they will be done you have done with me.

10 U-Abhimelekhi wabuza u-Abhrahama wathi, “Besiyini isizatho sakho sokwenza lokhu na?”

And he said Abimelech to Abraham what? did you see that you have done the thing this.

11 U-Abhrahama waphendula wathi, “Ngazitshela ngathi, ‘Ngempela kakukho ukumesaba uNkulunkulu kule indawo njalo bazangibulala ngenxa yomkami.’

And he said Abraham that I said certainly there not [is] [the] fear of God in the place this and they will kill me on [the] matter of wife my.

12 Ngaphandle kwalokho, uvele ungudadewethu, indodakazi kababa kodwa engasuye kamama; waba ngumkami.

And also truly [is] sister my [the] daughter of father my she only not [the] daughter of mother my and she became of me a wife.

13 Kwathi uNkulunkulu esengisusile emzini kababa ngathi kuSara, ‘Nansi indlela ongatshengisa ngayo uthando lwakho kimi: Noma ngaphi lapho esiya khona, ubokuthi ngami, “Ungumnewethu.”’”

And it was just as they caused to wander me God from [the] household of father my and I said to her this [is] loyalty your which you will do with me to every place where we will go there towards say of me [is] brother my he.

14 U-Abhimelekhi waseletha izimvu lenkomo, lezisebenzi zesilisa lezesifazane wazipha u-Abhrahama, wabuyisela uSara umkakhe kuye.

And he took Abimelech sheep and cattle and [male] servants and female servants and he gave [them] to Abraham and he restored to him Sarah wife his.

15 Njalo u-Abhimelekhi wathi, “Nanti ilizwe lami uyalibona; ungahlala lapho othanda khona.”

And he said Abimelech there! land my [is] before you in the [place] good in view your dwell.

16 Wathi kuSara, “Umnewenu ngimupha amashekeli esiliva ayinkulungwane. Le iyinhlawulo yehlazo elenziwe kuwe phambi kwabantu bonke bakini; usugeziwe.”

And to Sarah he said here! I give a thousand silver to brother your there! it for you [is] a covering of eyes to all who [are] with you and with everyone [you are] vindicated.

17 U-Abhrahama wasekhuleka kuNkulunkulu, uNkulunkulu wamsilisa u-Abhimelekhi, lomkakhe lezigqili zakhe zesifazane ukuthi babelabantwana njalo,

And he prayed Abraham to God and he healed God Abimelech and wife his and female slaves his and they bore children.

18 ngoba uThixo wayevale bonke abesifazane bendlu ka-Abhimelekhi inzalo ngenxa yomka-Abhrahama, uSara.

For certainly had shut up Yahweh behind every womb of [the] household of Abimelech on [the] matter of Sarah [the] wife of Abraham.
