And these [are] sons of the province who are going up—of the captives of the expulsion that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed to Babylon, and they return to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his city—

sons of Azmaveth, forty-two;

25 eKhiriyathi-Jeyarimi, eKhefira leBherothi ayengamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi amane lantathu,

sons of Kirjath-Arim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty-three;

26 eRama leGebha ayengamakhulu ayisithupha lamatshumi amabili lanye,

sons of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred twenty-one;

27 eMikhimashi ayelikhulu lamatshumi amabili lambili,

men of Michmas, one hundred twenty-two;

28 eBhetheli le-Ayi ayengamakhulu amabili lamatshumi amabili lantathu,

men of Beth-El and Ai, two hundred twenty-three;

29 eNebho ayengamatshumi amahlanu lambili,

sons of Nebo, fifty-two;

30 eMagibhishi ayelikhulu lamatshumi amahlanu lasithupha,

sons of Magbish, one hundred fifty-six;

31 kweyinye i-Elamu ayeyinkulungwane elamakhulu amabili lamatshumi amahlanu lane,

sons of another Elam, one thousand two hundred fifty-four;

32 eHarimi ayengamakhulu amathathu lamatshumi amabili,

sons of Harim, three hundred and twenty;

33 eLodi, eHadidi le-Ono ayengamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi amabili lanhlanu,

sons of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred twenty-five;

34 eJerikho ayengamakhulu amathathu lamatshumi amane lanhlanu,

sons of Jericho, three hundred forty-five;

35 eSenaya ayezinkulungwane ezintathu lamakhulu ayisithupha lamatshumi amathathu.

sons of Senaah, three thousand and six hundred and thirty.

36 Abaphristi: esizukulwaneni sikaJedaya (ngosendo lukaJeshuwa) babengamakhulu ayisificamunwemunye lamatshumi ayisikhombisa lantathu,

The priests: sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy-three;

37 kwesika-Imeri babeyinkulungwane lamatshumi amahlanu lambili,

sons of Immer, one thousand fifty-two;

38 kwesikaPhashuri babeyinkulungwane elamakhulu amabili lamatshumi amane lasikhombisa,

sons of Pashhur, one thousand two hundred forty-seven;

39 kwesikaHarimi babeyinkulungwane letshumi lasikhombisa.

sons of Harim, one thousand and seventeen.

40 AbaLevi: besizukulwane sikaJeshuwa loKhadimiyeli (abosendo lukaHodaviya) babengamatshumi ayisikhombisa lane.

The Levites: sons of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodaviah, seventy-four.

41 Abahlabeleli: besizukulwane sika-Asafi babelikhulu lamatshumi amabili lasificaminwembili.

The singers: sons of Asaph, one hundred twenty-eight.

55 Izizukulwane zezinceku zikaSolomoni: isizukulwane sikaSothayi, loHasoferethi, loPheruda,

Sons of the servants of Solomon: sons of Sotai, sons of Sophereth, sons of Peruda,

56 loJala, loDakhoni, loGideli,

sons of Jaalah, sons of Darkon, sons of Giddel,

57 loShefathiya, loHathili, loPhokherethi-Hazebhayimi kanye lo-Ami.

sons of Shephatiah, sons of Hattil, sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, sons of Ami.

58 Izinceku zethempelini lezizukulwane zezinceku zikaSolomoni zazingamakhulu amathathu lamatshumi ayisificamunwemunye lambili.

All the Nethinim, and the sons of the servants of Solomon [are] three hundred ninety-two.

59 Abalandelayo laba bavela emadolobheni aseTheli Mela, eTheli Hasha, eKherubi, e-Adani, lase-Imeri, kodwa behluleka ukuveza ukuthi usendo lwabo lwaphuma ko-Israyeli:

And these [are] those going up from Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsa, Cherub, Addan, Immer, and they have not been able to declare the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they [are] of Israel:

60 abesizukulwane sikaDelaya, loThobhiya loNekhoda babengamakhulu ayisithupha lamatshumi amahlanu lambili.

sons of Delaiah, sons of Tobiah, sons of Nekoda, six hundred fifty-two.

61 Ababephuma kubaphristi kwakuyilaba: Abesizukulwane sikaHobhaya, esikaHakhozi lesikaBhazilayi (indoda eyayithethe indodakazi kaBhazilayi umGiliyadi layo yayibizwa ngalelobizo).

And of the sons of the priests: sons of Habaiah, sons of Koz, sons of Barzillai (who took a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and is called by their name);

62 Laba baphenya imibhalo yembali yezimuli zabo, kodwa bayiswela ngakho basuswa ebuphristini kwathiwa bangcolile.

these have sought their register among those reckoning themselves by genealogy, and they have not been found, and they are redeemed from the priesthood,

63 Umbusi wabalaya ukuthi bangakudli loba yikuphi ukudla okungcwele kuze kube lomphristi wokubuza inkatho i-Urimi leThumimi.

and the Tirshatha says to them that they do not eat of the most holy things until the standing up of a priest with [the] Lights and with [the] Perfections.

64 Ixuku lonke lalilinani elifika izinkulungwane ezingamatshumi amane lambili, lamakhulu amathathu alamatshumi ayisithupha,

All the assembly together [is] forty-two thousand three hundred sixty,

65 ngaphandle kwezinceku lezincekukazi zabo ezizinkulungwane eziyisikhombisa lamakhulu amathathu alamatshumi amathathu lasikhombisa; njalo babe labahlabeleli besilisa labesifazane abangamakhulu amabili.

apart from their servants and their handmaids; these [are] seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven: and of them [are] two hundred male and female singers.

66 Babelamabhiza angamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi amathathu lasithupha, lezimbongolo ezingamakhulu amabili lamatshumi amahlanu lanhlanu,

Their horses [are] seven hundred thirty-six, their mules, two hundred forty-five,

67 lamakamela angamakhulu amane lamatshumi amathathu lanhlanu kanye labobabhemi abazinkulungwane eziyisithupha ezilamakhulu ayisikhombisa lamatshumi amabili.

their camels, four hundred thirty-five, donkeys, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68 Bathi ukufika kwabo endlini kaThixo eJerusalema abanye bezinhloko zezimuli benza umnikelo wokuzizwela waba ngowokwakha indlu kaNkulunkulu endaweni yayo.

And some of the heads of the fathers in their coming to the house of YHWH that [is] in Jerusalem, have offered willingly for the house of God, to establish it on its base;

69 Banikela esikhwameni esikhulu ngokwamandla abo ukwenza umsebenzi lo banika amadrakhima azinkulungwane ezingamatshumi ayisithupha lanye egolide lesiliva esifika izinkulungwane ezinhlanu samamina lezembatho zobuphristi ezilikhulu.

according to their power they have given to the treasure of the work; of gold, sixty-one thousand drams, and of silver, five thousand pounds, and of priests’ coats, one hundred.

70 Abaphristi, labaLevi, labahlabeleli, labalindi bamasango kanye lezinceku zethempelini bahlala emadolobheni akibo, ndawonye labanye abantu, labo bonke abako-Israyeli bahlala emadolobheni akibo.

And the priests dwell, and the Levites, and of the people, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim, in their cities; even all Israel in their cities.
