1 Ngomnyaka wetshumi lambili, ngenyanga yetshumi lambili ngosuku lokuqala, ilizwi likaThixo lafika kimi lisithi:
And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
2 “Ndodana yomuntu, khala isililo ngoFaro inkosi yaseGibhithe uthi kuye: ‘Wena unjengesilwane phakathi kwezizwe; unjengesilo phakathi kolwandle, uvubavuba amanzi ezifuleni zakho, uchaphaze amanzi ngezinyawo zakho, ungcolisa lezifula ngodaka.
Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him, Thou were compared to a young lion of the nations. Yet thou are as a monster in the seas, and thou broke forth with thy rivers, and troubled the waters with thy feet, and fouled their rivers.
3 Nanku okutshiwo nguThixo Wobukhosi: Ngoquqaba olukhulu lwabantu ngizaphosela imbule lami phezu kwakho njalo bazakudonsela phezulu ngomambule wami.
Thus says the lord Jehovah: I will spread out my net upon thee with a company of many peoples, and they shall bring thee up in my net.
4 Ngizakuphosela emhlabathini ngikudonsele egcekeni egangeni. Ngizakwenza zonke izinyoni zasemoyeni zihlale phezu kwakho lezinyamazana zonke zasemhlabeni zizitike kuwe.
And I will leave thee upon the land. I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the birds of the heavens to settle upon thee, and I will satisfy the beasts of the whole earth with thee.
5 Ngizachaya inyama yakho phezu kwezintaba njalo ngigcwalise izigodi ngezidumbu zakho.
And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thy height.
6 Ngizathambisa ilizwe ngegazi lakho eligeleza indawo yonke kusiya ezintabeni, lezindonga zizagcwala inyama yakho.
I will also water the land, in which thou swim, with thy blood, even to the mountains. And the watercourses shall be full of thee.
7 Lapho sengikucitsha, ngizakwembesa amazulu ngenze izinkanyezi zawo zibe mnyama; ngizakwembesa ilanga ngeyezi, lenyanga ingabe isakhanyisa.
And when I shall extinguish thee, I will cover the heavens, and make the stars of it dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.
8 Zonke izibane ezikhanyisa emazulwini ngizazenza zibe mnyama elizweni lakho, kutsho uThixo Wobukhosi.
All the bright lights of heaven I will make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, says the lord Jehovah.
9 Ngizakhathaza inhliziyo zabantu abanengi lapho sengiletha ukuchithwa kwakho phakathi kwezizwe, phakathi kwamazwe ongazange uwazi.
I will also vex the hearts of many peoples when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou have not known.
10 Ngizakwenza abantu abanengi bamangale ngawe, lamakhosi abo azathuthumela ngokwesaba ngenxa yakho lapho nginyikinya inkemba yami phambi kwawo. Ngosuku lokuwa kwakho lowo lalowo wabo uzaqhaqhazela isikhathi sonke sokuphila kwakhe.
Yea, I will make many peoples amazed at thee. And their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee when I shall brandish my sword before them. And they shall tremble at every moment, each man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.
11 Ngoba nanku okutshiwo nguThixo Wobukhosi: Inkemba yenkosi yaseBhabhiloni izamelana lawe.
For thus says the lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.
12 Ngizakwenza amaxuku akho abulawe ngezinkemba zamadoda alamandla alesihluku kakhulu phakathi kwezizwe zonke. Azachoboza ukuziqhenya kweGibhithe, njalo wonke amaxuku alo azanqotshwa.
By the swords of the mighty I will cause thy multitude to fall. They are all the terrible of the nations. And they shall bring to nothing the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude of it shall be destroyed.
13 Ngizabulala zonke inkomo zabo ngaseduzane lamanzi amanengi angaphindi adungwe lunyawo lomuntu futhi kumbe angcoliswe ngamasondo enkomo ngodaka.
I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside many waters. Neither the foot of man shall trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them.
14 Lapho-ke ngizakwenza amanzi alo azinze lezifula zalo zigeleze njengamafutha, kutsho uThixo Wobukhosi.
Then I will make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, says the lord Jehovah.
15 Lapho iGibhithe sengilichitha ngiphundla ilizwe lakho konke okukulo, lapho sengibacakazela phansi bonke abahlala khona, lapho-ke bazakwazi ukuthi mina nginguThixo.’
When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate and waste, a land destitute of that of which it was full, when I shall smite all those who dwell therein, then they shall know that I am Jehovah.
16 Lesi yisililo esizaculelwa iGibhithe. Amadodakazi ezizwe azasicula: azasiculela iGibhithe kanye lamaxuku alo wonke, kutsho uThixo Wobukhosi.”
This is the lamentation with which they shall lament. The daughters of the nations shall lament with that over Egypt, and over all her multitude. They shall lament with that, says the lord Jehovah.
17 Ngomnyaka wetshumi lambili, ngosuku lwetshumi lanhlanu lwenyanga, ilizwi likaThixo lafika kimi lisithi:
It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
18 “Ndodana yomuntu, lilela amaxuku aseGibhithe njalo wehlisele ngaphansi komhlaba kokubili lona iGibhithe kanye lamadodakazi ezizwe ezilamandla, lalabo abehlela phansi egodini.
Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, to the nether parts of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.
19 Tshono kubo uthi, ‘Lina liyathandwa kakhulu kulabanye na? Yehlelani phansi lilale phakathi kwabangasokanga.’
Whom do thou pass in beauty? Go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.
20 Bazafela phakathi kwalabo ababulawa ngenkemba. Inkemba isihwatshiwe; iGibhithe kalihudulwe lamaxuku alo wonke.
They shall fall in the midst of those who are slain by the sword. She is delivered to the sword. Draw her away and all her multitudes.
21 Abakhokheli abalamandla bazakutsho ngeGibhithe labamanyene layo bephakathi kwengcwaba bathi, ‘Sebehlele phansi njalo balele labangasokanga, lalabo ababulawa ngenkemba.’ (Sheol h7585)
The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol with those who help him. They have gone down. They lie still, even the uncircumcised, slain by the sword. (Sheol h7585)
22 I-Asiriya ikhona lebutho layo lonke; izungezwe ngamangcwaba abo bonke abayo ababuleweyo; bonke ababulawe ngenkemba.
Asshur is there and all her company. Her graves are round about her, all of them slain, fallen by the sword,
23 Amangcwaba abo asekuzikeni kwegodi njalo ibutho layo lilele lihanqe ingcwaba layo. Bonke abandisa ukwesaba elizweni labaphilayo babulewe, bebulawa ngenkemba.
whose graves are set in the outermost parts of the pit. And her company is round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who caused terror in the land of the living.
24 I-Elamu ikhona, lamaxuku ayo wonke azungeze ingcwaba layo. Bonke babulewe, bebulawa ngenkemba. Bonke abandisa ukwesaba elizweni labaphilayo behlela phansi ngaphansi komhlaba bengasokanga. Bathwele ihlazo labo belalabo abehlela phansi egodini.
There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who have gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living, and have borne their shame with those who go down to the pit.
25 Yenzelwa umbheda phakathi kwababuleweyo, lamaxuku ayo wonke ehanqe ingcwaba layo. Bonke kabasokanga, babulawa ngenkemba. Ngoba ukwesatshwa kwabo kwasekugcwele elizweni labaphilayo, bathwala ihlazo labo lalabo abehlela phansi egodini; babekwa phakathi kwababuleweyo.
They have set a bed for her in the midst of the slain with all her multitude. Her graves are round about her, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword. For their terror was caused in the land of the living, and they have borne their shame with those who go down to the pit. He is put in the midst of those who are slain.
26 IMesheki leThubhali akhona, lamaxuku awo wonke ezungeze amangcwaba awo. Wonke amaxuku kawasokanga, abulewe ngoba andisa ukwesatshwa kwawo elizweni labaphilayo.
There is Meshech, Tubal, and all their multitude. Their graves are round about them, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, for they caused their terror in the land of the living.
27 Kanje kawalele lamanye amabutho angasokanga awafayo, wona ehlela phansi engcwabeni lezikhali zawo zempi, azinkemba zawo zabekwa ngaphansi kwamakhanda awo na? Isijeziso sezono zawo sahlala phezu kwamathambo awo, lanxa ukwesatshwa kwamabutho la kwagcwala elizweni labaphilayo. (Sheol h7585)
And they shall not lie with the mighty who are fallen of the uncircumcised, who have gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war, and have laid their swords under their heads. But their iniquities are upon their bones, for they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. (Sheol h7585)
28 Lawe futhi, wena Faro, uzakwephulwa njalo ulale phakathi kwabangasokanga, lalabo ababulawa ngenkemba.
But thou shall be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shall lie with those who are slain by the sword.
29 I-Edomi ikhona, amakhosi ayo lamakhosana ayo wonke; phezu kwamandla abo, balaliswa lalabo ababulawa ngenkemba. Balele labangasokanga, lalabo abehlela phansi egodini.
There is Edom, its kings and all its rulers, who in their might are laid with those who are slain by the sword. They shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with those who go down to the pit.
30 Wonke amakhosana asenyakatho kanye lamaSidoni wonke bakhona; behlela phansi lababulawayo behlazekile lanxa kulokwesaba okwabangelwa ngamandla abo. Balele bengasokanga kanye lalabo ababulawa ngenkemba njalo bathwala ihlazo labo lalabo abehlela phansi egodini.
There are the rulers of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain. In the terror which they caused by their might they are put to shame. And they lie uncircumcised with those who are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.
31 UFaro lebutho lakhe uzababona njalo uzaduduzeka ngamaxuku akhe wonke abulawa ngenkemba, kutsho uThixo Wobukhosi.
Pharaoh shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword, says the lord Jehovah.
32 Lanxa ngamenza wandisa ukwesaba elizweni labaphilayo, uFaro kanye lamaxuku akhe wonke, bazalaliswa phakathi kwabangasokanga, lalabo ababulawa ngenkemba, kutsho uThixo Wobukhosi.”
For I have put his terror in the land of the living, and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the lord Jehovah.
