U-Eksodusi 30
1 “Yenza i-alithari lokutshisela impepha ngesihlahla somʼakhakhiya.
And thou shalt make an altar, for burning incense, of acacia wood, shalt thou make it:
2 Amacele womane kumele alingane, kube yingalo ubude lengalo ububanzi, kuthi ukudepha kube zingalo ezimbili, impondo zalo zibe yinto yinye lalo.
a cubit, the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof four square, shall it be, —and two cubits, the height thereof, of the same, [shall be] the horns thereof,
3 Huqa phezulu lamacele wonke, lempondo zalo ngegolide elicolekileyo ubumbele umqolo wegolide inxa zonke.
And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof, -and thou shalt make to it a border of gold round about.
4 Yenza amasongo egolide amabili e-alithare abe ngaphansi komqolo emaceleni amabili ehlukeneyo ukuba abambe imijabo yokulithwala.
And, two rings of gold, shalt thou make to it, under the border thereof upon the two corners thereof, shalt thou make them on the two sides thereof, —so shall they become receptacles for the staves, to lift it therewith.
5 Imijabo yenze ngesihlahla somʼakhakhiya uyihuqe ngegolide.
And thou shalt make the staves of acacia wood, —and overlay them with gold.
6 Beka i-alithari phambi kwekhetheni elisithe umtshokotsho wobufakazi, nganeno kwesihlalo somusa esiphezu kwezibhebhedu zesivumelwano somthetho lapho engizahlangana lawe khona.
And thou shalt place it before the veil, which is by the ark of the testimony, —before the propitiatory which is upon the testimony, where I will meet thee.
7 U-Aroni kumele atshise impepha enuka mnandi e-alithareni nsuku zonke ekuseni elungisa izibane.
And Aaron shall burn thereon fragrant incense, —morning by morning, when he trimmeth the lamps, shall he burn it;
8 Kumele impepha ayitshise futhi kusihlwa lapho eselumathisa izibane ukuze impepha itshe kokuphela phambi kukaThixo kuze kube kuzizukulwane ezizayo.
and, when Aaron lighteth the lamps, between the evenings, shall he burn it, —a continual incense before Yahweh, to your generations.
9 Linganikeli kuleli-alithare olunye uhlobo lwempepha kumbe umnikelo wokutshiswa loba umnikelo wamabele, njalo lingatheli umnikelo wokunathwa phezu kwalo.
Ye shall not cause to ascend thereupon strange incense, nor an ascending-sacrifice, nor a meal-offering, —and a drink offering, shall ye not pour out thereupon.
10 Kanye ngomnyaka u-Aroni uzakwenza inhlawulelo empondweni zalo. Inhlawulo yeminyaka yonke le kumele yenziwe ngegazi lomnikelo wokuhlawulela izono zezizukulwane ezizayo. Ingcwele kakhulu kuThixo.”
But Aaron shall put a propitiatory-covering upon the horns thereof, once in the year: of the blood of the sin-bearer for propitiatory-coverings, once in the year, shall he put a propitiatory-covering thereupon to your generations, most holy, it is to Yahweh.
11 UThixo wasesithi kuMosi,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying—
12 “Lapho usubala abantu bako-Israyeli omunye lomunye kumele anike uThixo inhlawulo yokuphila kwakhe. Ngalokho akuyikuba lesifo esizabehlela lapho ubabala.
When thou takest the sum of the sons of Israel, by their numberings, then shall they give every man a propitiatory-covering for his soul to Yahweh, when they are numbered, —that there may be among them no plague when they are numbered.
13 Akuthi lowo lalowo odlulela ngakulabo asebebaliwe anike ingxenye yeshekeli, ngokweshekeli lendawo engcwele, okuyisisindo esingamagera angamatshumi amabili. Ingxenye yeshekeli le ingumnikelo kuThixo.
This, shall they give—every one that passeth over to them that have been numbered—a half-shekel by the shekel of the sanctuary, —the shekel is twenty gerahs—the half-shekel, shall be a heave-offering to Yahweh.
14 Wonke umuntu obaliweyo, kusukela koleminyaka engamatshumi amabili kusiya phezulu, uzanikela umnikelo kuThixo.
All who pass over to the numbered, from twenty years old and upwards, shall give the heave-offering of Yahweh.
15 Abanothileyo akumelanga banikele ngokwedlula ingxenye yeshekeli, labayanga kabanganikeli ngokungaphansi lapho selinikela kuThixo ukuba lenze inhlawulelo yokuphila kwenu.
The rich, shall not give more, and the poor, shall not give less, than the half-shekel, —when they give the heave-offering of Yahweh, to put a propitiatory-covering over your souls.
16 Wamukele imali yenhlawulo kwabako-Israyeli uyisebenzise enkonzweni yethente lokuhlangana. Izakuba yisikhumbuzo kwabako-Israyeli phambi kukaThixo ukwenzela inhlawulelo yokuphila kwenu.”
So then thou shalt take the silver for the propitiatory-coverings from the sons of Israel, and shalt expend it upon the service of the tent of meeting, —thus shall it be for the sons of Israel as a memorial before Yahweh, to put a propitiatory-covering over your souls.
17 UThixo wasesithi kuMosi,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying—
18 “Yenza inkonxa yethusi ibe lensika yethusi, izakuba ngeyokugezela. Uyibeke phakathi laphakathi kwethente lokuhlangana le-alithari, uthele amanzi phakathi kwayo.
And thou shalt make a laver of bronze, and its stand of bronze for bathing, —and thou shalt place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and shalt put therein water.
19 U-Aroni lamadodana akhe bazageza izandla lezinyawo zabo ngamanzi akuyo.
So shall Aaron and his sons bathe thereat, —their hands, and their feet.
20 Nxa bengena ethenteni lokuhlangana bazageza ngamanzi ukuze bangafi. Phezu kwalokho, lapho besondela e-alithareni ukuba bakhonze ngokwethula umnikelo wokutshiswa onikelwa kuThixo,
When they enter the tent of meeting, they shall bathe with water so shall they not die, —or when they approach unto the altar to minister, to burn as incense an altar-flame to Yahweh:
21 bazageza izandla zabo lezinyawo ukuze bangafi. Lokhu kuzakuba yisimiso esingapheliyo ku-Aroni lenzalo yakhe lakuzizukulwane ezizayo.”
so then they shall bathe their hands and their feet and shall not die, —and it shall be to them an age-abiding statute, to him and to his seed to their generations.
22 UThixo wasesithi kuMosi,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying—
23 “Thatha lezinhlobo zamakha amahle: Amashekeli angamakhulu amahlanu emure elingamanzi, isinamoni enuka mnandi eyingxenye yalokho (okuyikuthi amakhulu amabili lamatshumi amahlanu amashekeli), amashekeli angamakhulu amabili lamatshumi amahlanu ekhalamu elilephunga elimnandi,
Thou, therefore, take to thee—principal spices, —self-flowing myrrh, five hundred, and fragrant cinnamon, half as much, two hundred and fifty, and, fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty;
24 amashekeli angamakhulu amahlanu ekhasiya, konke kumayelana lamashekeli endawo engcwele, kanye lehini lamafutha ama-oliva.
and, cassia, five hundred, by the shekel of the sanctuary, —and, oil olive, a hin.
25 Lokhu kwenze kube ngamafutha angcwele okugcoba abakhethiweyo alungiswe ngumenzi wamakha, azakuba ngamafutha angcwele okugcoba abakhethiweyo.
And thou shalt make it an oil for holy anointing, a compounded perfume the work of a perfumer, —an oil for holy anointing, shall it be.
26 Ngawo-ke uzagcoba ithente lokuhlangana, umtshokotsho wobufakazi,
And thou shalt anoint therewith the tent of meeting, —and the ark of the testimony;
27 itafula kanye lezitsha zawo zonke, uluthi lwesibane lezitsha zawo, i-alithari lempepha,
and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand, and its utensils, —and the incense altar,
28 i-alithari lomnikelo wokutshiswa lezitsha zawo lomganu wokugezela kanye lezinyawo zawo.
and the altar for the ascending-sacrifice, and all its utensils, -and the laver, and its stand.
29 Uzakungcwelisa konke ukuba kube ngcwele kakhulu, njalo loba yini ekuthintayo izakuba ngcwele.
So shalt thou hallow them, and they shall be most holy, —whosoever toucheth them, shall be holy.
30 Mgcobe u-Aroni lamadodana akhe ubehlukanisele ukuba bangisebenzele bengabaphristi.
Aaron also, and his sons, shalt thou anoint, —so shalt thou hallow them to minister as priests unto me.
31 Batshele abako-Israyeli uthi, ‘Lokhu kuzakuba ngamafutha ami angcwele okugcoba abakhethiweyo lakuzizukulwane zenu ezizayo.
And unto the sons of Israel, shalt thou speak, saying, An oil for holy anointing, shall this be to me, to your generations.
32 Lingawatheli emizimbeni yabantu, njalo lingenzi amanye amafutha ngale indlela yokuwenza. Ingcwele, izakuba ngcwele lakini.
Upon the flesh of a common man, shall it not be poured, and according to the proportions thereof, shall ye not make any like it, —holy, it is, holy, shall it be to you.
33 Lowo ozakwenza amakha afana lawo kumbe agcobe ngawo umuntu ongasuye mphristi, uzasuswa ebantwini bakibo.’”
Whosoever compoundeth any like it, and whosoever bestoweth thereof upon a stranger, shall be cut off from among his people.
34 UThixo wabuye wathi kuMosi, “Thatha amakha anuka mnandi, isitakete, i-onika legalibhanumi kanye lenhlaka enhle, konke kungesilinganiso esifanayo,
Then said Yahweh unto Moses—Take to thee aromatic spices stacte and onycha, and galbanum, —aromatic spices, and pure frankincense, —weight for weight, shall it be.
35 wenze ingxube yempepha elephunga elimnandi njengomxubi wamakha, ifakwe itswayi ibenhle njalo ibe ngcwele.
And thou shalt make of it an incense, a perfume the work of a perfumer, —salted, pure, holy.
36 Chola enye yayo ibe yimpuphu uyifake phambi komtshokotsho wobufakazi phakathi kwethente lokuhlangana lapho engizahlangana lawe khona. Izakuba ngcwele kakhulu kini.
And thou shalt beat some of it to powder, and place thereof before the testimony, in the tent of meeting, where I am to meet with thee, —most holy, shall it be to you.
37 Lingazenzeli eyenu impepha ngale indlela, iboneni njengento engcwele kuThixo.
And the incense which thou shalt make, according to the proportions thereof, ye shall not make for yourselves, —holy, shall it be to thee, to Yahweh.
38 Lowo ozakwenza enye efana layo ukuba akholise ukunukelela kwayo kamnandi, kumele asuswe ebantwini bakibo.”
Whosoever shall make like it, to smell of it shall be cut off from among his people.
