1 UMosi waphuma wayakwethula lamazwi kubo bonke abako-Israyeli wathi:
Awo Musa n’agenda n’abuulira Isirayiri yonna ebigambo bino, n’agamba nti,

4 UThixo uzakwenza lokho akwenza kuSihoni lo-Ogi, amakhosi ama-Amori, ababhubhisa wabatshabalalisa lamazwe abo.
Era nga Mukama Katonda bwe yakola Sikoni ne Ogi, bakabaka b’Abamoli n’ensi yaabwe, n’abazikiriza, ne bano bw’alibakola.

8 UThixo ngokwakhe uhamba phambi kwakho njalo uzakuba lawe; kasoze akutshiye loba akufulathele. Ungesabi; ungapheli amandla.”

9 UMosi wawuloba phansi umthetho wawuqhubela abaphristi, amadodana abaLevi, ababethwala umtshokotsho wesivumelwano sikaThixo, kanye labadala bonke bako-Israyeli.

12 Lizabuthanisa abantu, amadoda, abafazi labantwana, kanye labezizweni abahlala emadolobheni enu ukuze bazizwele bafunde ukwesaba uThixo uNkulunkulu wenu balandele ngonanzelelo wonke amazwi alumthetho.

15 UThixo wasebonakala ethenteni ngensika yeyezi, njalo iyezi lelo lema phezu komnyango wethente.

16 UThixo waphinda wathi kuMosi: “Ususiyaphumula laboyihlo, kanti-ke lababantu bazahugeka masinyazana bakhonze onkulunkulu balelilizwe abazangena kulo. Bazangifulathela bephule isivumelwano engasenza labo.

17 Ngalolosuku ngizabathukuthelela ngibafulathele; ngizabafihlela ubuso bami, njalo bazabhujiswa. Bazakwehlelwa zingozi ezinengi lobunzima phezu kwabo, njalo ngalolosuku bazabuza bathi: ‘Kambe akusikuthi ingozi lezi zisehlela kubi kangaka ngoba uNkulunkulu wethu kakho phakathi kwethu na?’

23 UThixo wanika uJoshuwa indodana kaNuni umlayo othi “Qina ube lesibindi, ngoba uzangenisa abako-Israyeli elizweni engabathembisa lona ngesifungo, njalo mina ngokwami ngizakuba lawe.”
Awo Mukama n’awa Yoswa mutabani wa Nuuni ekiragiro kino ng’agamba nti, “Beera wa maanyi era guma omwoyo, kubanga ggw’oliyingiza abaana ba Isirayiri mu nsi gye nabasuubiza nga ngibalayirira; era nange nnaabeeranga naawe.”

Musa bwe yamala okuwandiika mu Kitabo ebigambo eby’amateeka gano, okubiggya ku ntandikwa okubituusa ku nkomerero,
25 walaya abaLevi ababethwala umtshokotsho wesivumelwano sikaThixo wathi:

26 “Thathani iNcwadi yoMthetho le liyifake eceleni komtshokotsho wesivumelwano sikaThixo uNkulunkulu wenu, izahlala lapha njengofakazi walokho elikwenzayo.
“Mutwale Ekitabo ky’Amateeka kino mukiteeke awali Essanduuko ey’Endagaano eya Mukama Katonda wammwe, kibeerenga awo ng’omujulirwa gy’oli.
27 Mina ngiyakwazi ukuhlamuka kwenu lokuba ngontamozilukhuni kwenu. Nxa kade lihlamukela uThixo ngisaphila njalo ngiselani, kuzakuba nganani ukuhlamuka kwenu nxa sengifile!
Kubanga nkumanyi nga bw’oli omujeemu era alina ensingo enkakanyavu. Obanga mubadde mujeemera Mukama Katonda nga nkyaliwo nammwe, kale nga mmaze okufa okujeema kwammwe tekuusingewo nnyo!
28 Buthanisani phambi kwami bonke abadala bezizwana zenu kanye lezikhulu zenu zonke ukuze ngethule lamazwi bezizwela nginxuse izulu lomhlaba ukuba kufakaze ububi babo.
Munkuŋŋaanyize wano abakadde b’ebika byammwe abakulembeze bammwe bonna, njogere ebigambo bino mu matu gaabwe nga bawulira; era mpita eggulu n’ensi bibeere abajulirwa okubalumiriza.
29 Ngoba ngiyakwazi ukuthi nxa ngingasekho sengifile lizaxhwala liphambuke endleleni engililaye yona. Ensukwini ezizayo, lizawelwa yingozi ngoba lizakwenza ububi phambi kukaThixo limvuse ulaka ngemisebenzi emibi yezandla zenu.”
Kubanga mmanyi nga bwe nnaamala okufa mujja kwefaafaaganyiza ddala nga mukyama okuleka ekkubo lye mbalagidde okukwatanga. Mu biseera ebijja emitawaana gijjanga kubajjira, nga mukoze ebibi mu maaso ga Mukama Katonda mulyoke mumusunguwaze olw’ebyo emikono gyammwe bye ginaabanga gikoze.”
30 Ngakho uMosi wawaphinda amazwi engoma leyo kusukela ekuqaleni kusiya ekuphetheni ibandla lonke lako-Israyeli lilalele:
