1 Phambi kukaNkulunkulu loKhristu uJesu ozathonisisa abaphilayo labafileyo njalo mayelana lokubonakala kwakhe kanye lombuso wakhe ngikunika lumlayo:
I charge you, in the presence of God, and of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead, at his appearing in his kingdom:
2 Tshumayela iLizwi; lungiselela isikhathi esifaneleyo lesikhathi esingafanelanga; lungisa, ukhuze njalo ukhuthaze ngokubekezelela okukhulu langokulaya ngokunanzelela.
proclaim the word, be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching.
3 Ngoba isikhathi sizafika lapho abantu abangayikuyivuma khona imfundiso eqotho. Kodwa ukuze basuthise izinkanuko zabo, bazaziqoqela abafundisi abanengi ukuba batsho lokho indlebe zabo ezilumela ukukuzwa.
For there will be a time when they will not endure wholesome doctrine; but, having itching ears, they will, according to their own lusts, heap up to themselves teachers:
4 Indlebe zabo bazazisusa eqinisweni baphambukele ezinganekwaneni.
and they will, indeed, turn away their ears from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5 Kodwa wena lulamisa ikhanda kuzozonke izehlakalo, ubekezele ebunzimeni, wenze umsebenzi womvangeli, uyifeze yonke imisebenzi yenkonzo yakho.
But do you watch at all times; bear evil treatment; do the work of an evangelist; fully perform your ministry.
6 Ngoba mina sengilungele ukuthululwa njengomnikelo onathwayo njalo lesikhathi sokusuka kwami sesifikile.
For I am shortly to be sacrificed, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 Ngilwile ukulwa okuhle, sengiliqedile ibanga lami lokukholwa ngikulondolozile.
I have combated the good combat, I have finished the race, I have continued faithful:
8 Khathesi ngigcinelwe umqhele wokulunga iNkosi uMahluleli olungileyo ezanginika wona ngalelolanga njalo kungayisimi kuphela kodwa kubo bonke abatshisekela ukubonakala kwayo.
henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will deliver to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them who love his appearing.
9 Zama ngamandla akho wonke ukuba uze kimi ngokuphangisa
Make haste to come to me soon:
10 ngoba uDemasi ngenxa yokuthi ubethanda umhlaba lo, usengibalekele waya eThesalonika. UKhrisensi useye eGalathiya, uThithu waya eDalmathiya. (aiōn g165)
for Demas, having loved the present world, has forsaken me, and has gone to Thessalonica; Crescens into Galatia, and Titus into Dalmatia. (aiōn g165)
11 ULukha nguye kuphela olami. Thatha uMakho ubuye laye ngoba ulusizo kakhulu enkonzweni yami.
Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is very useful to me in the ministry.
12 UThikhikhasi ngamthuma e-Efesu.
But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.
13 Lapho usubuya ubuye lejazi engalitshiya kuKhaphusi eTrowasi lengwalo zami ikakhulu leziyana ezemibhalo elotshwe ezikhumbeni.
The cloak which I left at Troas with Carpus, bring when you come, and the books, especially the parchments.
14 U-Alekizanda umkhandi wensimbi wenza okubi kakhulu kimi. INkosi izaphindisela kuye lokhu akwenzileyo.
Alexander, the coppersmith, has done me many evil things; the Lord will reward him according to his works:
15 Lawe futhi kumele umqaphele ngoba ilizwi lethu waliphikisa kakhulu.
of whom beware, for he has greatly opposed our words.
16 Ekuzivikeleni kwami kwakuqala kakho owangisekelayo kodwa abantu bonke bangihlamukela. Kabangabi lamlandu ngalokho.
At my first answer, no one appeared with me, but all forsook me. May it not be laid to their charge!
17 Kodwa iNkosi yema phansi kwami yangipha amandla ukuze kuthi ngami ilizwi litshunyayelwe ngokupheleleyo njalo labeZizweni bonke balizwe. Ngempela ngasindiswa emlonyeni wesilwane.
However, the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me, the proclamation might be fully declared, and all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 INkosi izangihlenga kukho konke ukuhlaselwa okubi ingilethe kungekho bubi embusweni wayo wasezulwini. Udumo kalube kuyo kuze kube nini lanini. Ameni. (aiōn g165)
And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and preserve me to his heavenly kingdom: to whom ne glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

22 INkosi kayibe lomoya wakho. Umusa kawube lawe.
The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Favor be with you.
