1 Kodwa nanzelela lokhu: Ensukwini zokucina kuzakuba lezikhathi ezinzima.
And know this, that in the last days there will come perilous times,
2 Abantu bazakuba ngabazithandayo, labathanda imali, labazikhukhumezayo, labazigqajayo, labathukayo, labangalaleli abazali babo, labangabongiyo, labangcolileyo,
for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, slanderous, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unkind,
3 labangelathando, labangathetheleliyo, labahlebayo, labangazikhuziyo, labalesihluku, labangakuthandiyo okuhle,
without natural affection, implacable, false accusers, without control, barbaric, not lovers of those who are good,
4 labalamacebo amabi, labacaphuka ngeze, labaziphakamisayo, labathanda injabulo kulokuthanda uNkulunkulu,
traitors, reckless, lofty, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,
5 belesimo sokukholwa kuNkulunkulu kodwa belandula amandla okukholwa. Ungahlanganyeli labo.
having a form of piety, but having denied its power; and be turning away from these,
6 Yibo laba abanyenyela emakhaya bazuze amandla phezu kwabesifazane ababuthakathaka, abasindwa yizono njalo bebuswa zinhlobo zonke zezinkanuko ezimbi,
for of these there are those coming into the houses and leading captive the weak women, loaded with sins, led away with manifold desires,
7 behlezi befunda kodwa besehluleka ukufinyelela elwazini lweqiniso.
always learning, and never able to come to a knowledge of truth,
8 NjengoJanesi loJambiresi abaphikisa uMosi, ngokunjalo abantu laba baphikisa iqiniso. Abantu bengqondo ezonakeleyo, abalahliweyo ngokokholo.
and even as Jannes and Jambres stood against Moses, so these also stand against the truth, men corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith;
9 Kodwa kabayikufika ndawo ngoba njengokwalawo madoda, ubuthutha babo buzakuba sobala ebantwini bonke.
but they will not advance any further, for their folly will be evident to all, as theirs also became.
10 Kodwa wena wazi konke ngemfundiso yami, lempilo yami, lenjongo yami, lokukholwa, lokubekezela, lothando, lokuqinisela,
And you have followed after my teaching, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, love, endurance,
11 lokuhlukuluzwa, inhlupheko zonke engahlangana lazo e-Antiyokhi, lase-Ikhoniyamu, laseListra kanye lokuhlukuluzeka engangena phakathi kwakho. Kodwa iNkosi yangihlenga kukho konke lokhu.
the persecutions, the afflictions, that befell me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured! And the LORD delivered me out of all.
12 Ngempela umuntu wonke othanda ukuphila impilo yokulalela uNkulunkulu kuKhristu uJesu uzahlukuluzwa,
And all who will to live piously in Christ Jesus will also be persecuted,
13 kukanti abantu ababi labakhohlisi bazakonakala ngokudlulisayo, bekhohlisa labo bekhohliswa.
and evil men and impostors will advance to the worse, leading astray and being led astray.
14 Kodwa wena qhubeka ngalokho okufundileyo njalo wakukholwa ngoba uyabazi labo okufunde kubo,
And you—remain in the things which you learned and were entrusted with, having known from whom you learned,
15 lokuthi kusukela ebuntwaneni wayazi njani imibhalo eNgcwele engakwenza uhlakaniphele ukusindiswa ngokukholwa kuKhristu uJesu.
and because you have known the Holy Writings from infancy, which are able to make you wise—to salvation, through faith that [is] in Christ Jesus.
16 IMibhalo yonke yaphefumulelwa nguNkulunkulu njalo ilosizo ekufundiseni, lokukhuza, lokuqondisa, lokufundisa ngokulunga,
Every Writing [is] God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction that [is] in righteousness,
17 ukuze umuntu kaNkulunkulu ayilungisele ngokupheleleyo yonke imisebenzi emihle.
that the man of God may be fitted—having been completed for every good work.
