1 UPhawuli, loSayilasi kanye loThimothi, Lebandleni leThesalonika kuNkulunkulu uBaba laseNkosini uJesu Khristu:

PAUL and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, which is in God our Father and our Lord Jesus the Messiah:

2 Umusa lokuthula okuvela kuNkulunkulu uBaba leNkosini uJesu Khristu kakube kini.

Grace be with you, and peace, from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

3 Kumele sibonge uNkulunkulu kokuphela ngenxa yenu bazalwane njengoba kufanele ngoba ukholo lwenu lukhula kokuphela lothando elilalo komunye lomunye wenu luyanda.

We are bound to give thanks to God always, on your account, my brethren, as it is proper; because your faith groweth exceedingly, and, in you all, the love of each for his fellow increaseth.

4 Ngakho-ke, phakathi kwamabandla kaNkulunkulu thina siyazincoma ngokuqinisela kwenu lokukholwa phakathi kwakho konke lokhu ukuhlukuluzwa kanye lokuhlupheka elikubekezelelayo.

Insomuch that we also boast of you in the churches of God, on account of your faith, and your patience in all the persecution and trials that ye endure;

5 Konke lokhu kuyibufakazi bokuthi ukwahlulela kukaNkulunkulu kulungile njalo lizabalwa njengabafanele umbuso kaNkulunkulu eliwuhluphekelayo.

for a demonstration of the righteous judgment of God; that ye may be worthy of his kingdom, on account of which ye suffer.

6 UNkulunkulu ulungile: Uzaphindisela inhlupho kulabo abalihluphayo,

And since it is a righteous thing with God, to recompense trouble to them that trouble you:

7 alinike kanye lathi ukuhlaliseka lina elihlutshwayo. Lokhu kuzakwenzakala lapho iNkosi uJesu isibonakaliswa ezulwini phakathi komlilo ovuthayo ilezingilosi zayo ezilamandla.

and you, who are the troubled, he will vivify, with us, at the manifestation of our Lord Jesus the Messiah from heaven, with the host of his angels;

8 Izabajezisa labo abangamaziyo uNkulunkulu labangalilaleliyo ivangeli leNkosi yethu uJesu.

when he will execute vengeance, with the burning of fire, on them that know not God, and on them that acknowledge not the gospel of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

9 Bazajeziswa ngokubhujiswa okulaphakade, bavalelwe ngaphandle kobukhona beNkosi lasenkazimulweni yamandla ayo (aiōnios g166)

For these will be recompensed with the judgment of eternal destruction, from the presence of our Lord, and from the glory of his power; (aiōnios g166)

10 ngosuku ezafika ngalo ukuba idunyiswe ngabantu bayo abangcwele lokuba ibatshazwe phakathi kwabo bonke abakholwayo. Lokhu kugoqela lani ngoba labukholwa ubufakazi bethu kini.

when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to display his wonders in his faithful ones; for our testimony concerning you, will be believed, in that day.

11 Nxa sikhumbula lokhu, sihlala silikhulekela kokuphela ukuthi uNkulunkulu wethu alibale njengabafanele ukubizwa nguye njalo kuthi ngamandla akhe afeze injongo yenu elungileyo lakho konke ukwenza kwenu okuthunganyelwa yikukholwa kwenu.

Therefore we pray for you, at all times; that God would make you worthy of your calling, and would fill you with all readiness for good deeds, and with the works of faith by power;

12 Sikhulekela lokhu ukuze ibizo leNkosi yethu uJesu lidunyiswe kini, lani kuyo, ngokomusa kaNkulunkulu wethu loweNkosi uJesu Khristu.

so that the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, may be glorified in you, (and) ye also in him; according to the grace of God, and of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
