1 USolomoni wasesithi, “UThixo usetshilo ukuthi uzahlala eyezini elimnyama,
Then he said Solomon Yahweh he has said to dwell in thick darkness.

Since the day when I brought out people my from [the] land of Egypt not I have chosen a city from all [the] tribes of Israel to build a house to be name my there and not I have chosen a person to be ruler over people my Israel.
6 Kodwa khathesi sengikhethe iJerusalema ukuba iBizo lami libe khonale, njalo sengikhethe uDavida ukuba abuse abantu bami bako-Israyeli.’
And I have chosen Jerusalem to be name my there and I have chosen David to be over people my Israel.
7 Ubaba uDavida wayetshiseka enhliziyweni yakhe ukuba akhele iBizo likaThixo ithempeli, uNkulunkulu ka-Israyeli.
And it was with [the] heart of David father my to build a house for [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
8 Kodwa uThixo wathi kubaba uDavida, ‘Wenza kuhle ngokuba lesifiso sokungakhela ithempeli leBizo lami enhliziyweni yakho.
And he said Yahweh to David father my because that it was with heart your to build a house for name my you did well for it was with heart your.
9 Lanxa kunjalo, kayisuwe ozakwakha ithempeli, kodwa indodana yakho eyinyama yakho legazi lakho, yiyo ezakwakhela iBizo lami ithempeli.’
Only you not you will build the house for son your who comes out from loins your he he will build the house for name my.
10 UThixo usigcinile isithembiso asenzayo. Sengiyinkosi esikhundleni sikababa uDavida njalo khathesi sengihlezi esihlalweni sobukhosi sika-Israyeli njengokuthembisa kukaThixo, njalo sengakhele iBizo likaThixo, uNkulunkulu ka-Israyeli ithempeli.
And he has established Yahweh word his which he spoke and I have arisen in place of David father my and I have sat - on [the] throne of Israel just as he spoke Yahweh and I have built the house for [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.

And I have put there the ark where [is] there [the] covenant of Yahweh which he made with [the] people of Israel.
12 USolomoni wasesima phambi kwe-alithari likaThixo phambi kwalo lonke ibandla lako-Israyeli welula izandla zakhe.
And he stood before [the] altar of Yahweh before all [the] assembly of Israel and he spread out hands his.
13 Wayenze isitubhu sethusi, ubude baso buzingalo ezinhlanu, lobubanzi baso buzingalo ezinhlanu njalo buzingalo ezintathu ukuyaphezulu, sona wayesimise phakathi laphakathi kweguma elingaphandle. Wema phezu kwesitubhu waseguqa phambi kwalo lonke ibandla lako-Israyeli waphakamisela izandla zakhe ezulwini.
For he had made Solomon a platform of bronze and he had put it in [the] middle of the precinct [was] five cubits length its and [was] five cubits breadth its and [was] cubits three height its and he stood on it and he knelt down on knees his before all [the] assembly of Israel and he spread out hands his the heavens towards.

15 Usigcinile isithembiso sakho encekwini yakho uDavida ongubaba; ngomlomo wakho uthembisile njalo ngesandla sakho ukugcwalisile lokho njengoba kunjalo lamuhla.

16 Ngakho Thixo, Nkulunkulu ka-Israyeli, gcinela inceku yakho uDavida ubaba isithembiso owasenza kuye usithi, ‘Kawuyikuswela umuntu ozakuma phambi kwami esihlalweni sobukhosi buka-Israyeli, nxa amadodana akho ezahamba ngokomthetho wami phambi kwami, njengalokhu okwenzileyo wena.’
And now O Yahweh - [the] God of Israel keep to servant your David father my [that] which you spoke to him saying not it will be cut off to you a man from to before me [who] sits on [the] throne of Israel only if they will guard descendants your way their to walk in law my just as you have walked before me.
17 Ngakho khathesi, Thixo, Nkulunkulu ka-Israyeli, kaligcwaliseke ilizwi lesithembiso owalikhuluma kuDavida inceku yakho.
And now O Yahweh [the] God of Israel let it be established word your which you spoke to servant your to David.
18 Kambe uNkulunkulu uzahlala labantu emhlabeni na? Amazulu, kanye lamazulu aphezulu kakhulu, kawakulingani. Pho lisilela kanganani lelithempeli engilakhileyo!
For ¿ really will he dwell God with humankind on earth here! heaven and [the] heavens of the heavens not they will contain you indeed? for the house this which I have built.
19 Kodwa-ke akuzwe umkhuleko wenceku yakho lokucela kwayo umusa, Oh Thixo Nkulunkulu wami. Zwana ukukhala lokukhuleka kwenceku yakho phambi kwakho.
And you will turn to [the] prayer of servant your and to supplication his O Yahweh God my to listen to the cry of entreaty and to the prayer which servant your [is] praying before you.
20 Ebusuku lemini amehlo akho kakhangele lindlu, yona eyindawo owathi iBizo lakho lizakuba kuyo. Akuzwe umkhuleko wenceku yakho ngalindawo.
To be eyes your open to the house this by day and night to the place where you have said to put name your there to listen to the prayer which he will pray servant your to the place this.
21 Akulalele ukucela kwenceku yakho lokwabantu bakho bako-Israyeli nxa bekhuleka bekhangele kule indawo. Akuzwe ezulwini, lona eliyindawo yakho yokuhlala; ukuze uthi ungezwa, uthethelele.
And you will listen to [the] supplications of servant your and people your Israel which they will pray to the place this and you you will hear from [the] place of dwelling you from the heavens and you will hear and you will forgive.
22 Nxa umuntu angonela umakhelwane wakhe, afungiswe, abesefunga isifungo phambi kwe-alithari lakho kulelithempeli,
If he will sin anyone to neighbor his and he will impose on him an oath to put under an oath him and he will come he will swear an oath before altar your in the house this.

24 Kuthi lapho abantu bakho bako-Israyeli behlulwe yizitha ngoba bonile kuwe, akuthi lapho bephenduka befakaza ibizo lakho, bekhuleka njalo becela phambi kwakho kulelithempeli,
And if it will be defeated people your Israel before an enemy for they will sin to you and they will return and they will praise name your and they will pray and they will seek favor before you in the house this.
25 zwana usezulwini uthethelele izono zabantu bakho bako-Israyeli ubabuyisele elizweni owabapha lona kanye laboyise.
And you you will hear from the heavens and you will forgive [the] sin of people your Israel and you will bring back them to the land which you gave to them and to ancestors their.
26 Akuthi nxa emazulwini kuvalekile lingasani izulu ngoba abantu bakho bonile kuwe, njalo bathi nxa bekhuleka bekhangele kulindawo befakaza ibizo lakho betshiya izono zabo ngoba ubajezisile,
When are shut up the heavens and not it will be rain for they will sin to you and they will pray to the place this and they will praise name your from sin their they will turn back! for you will afflict them.
27 zwana usezulwini uthethelele izono zenceku zakho, abantu bakho u-Israyeli. Bafundise indlela eqondileyo yokuphila uthumele izulu elizweni owalinika abantu bakho ukuba libe yilifa labo.
And you - you will hear the heavens and you will forgive [the] sin of servants your and people your Israel that you will direct them to the way good which they will walk in it and you will give rain on land your which you gave to people your for an inheritance.
28 Nxa kufika indlala loba isifo elizweni, loba ingumane loba isikhwekhwe, intethe loba isikhongwane, loba izitha zibavimbezela loba kukuyiphi imizi yabo, loba kufika incithakalo kumbe umkhuhlane bani,
Famine if it will be in the land pestilence for it will be blight and mildew locust[s] and locust[s] for it will be that he will lay siege to it enemies its in [the] land of gates its any plague and any sickness.
29 kuthi lanxa umkhuleko kumbe isicelo sisenziwa ngomunye wabantu bakho bako-Israyeli, ngulowo lalowo ebona inhlupheko lezinsizi zakhe njalo ephakamisela izandla zakhe kulelithempeli,
Every prayer every supplication which it will belong to any person and to all people your Israel who they will know everyone own plague his and own pain his and he will spread out hands his to the house this.
30 lalela usezulwini, okuyindawo yakho yokuhlala. Thethelela, wenzele umuntu munye ngamunye lokho okuhambelana lezenzo zakhe, ngoba wena uyazazi inhliziyo zabo (futhi nguwe wedwa owazi inhliziyo zabantu),

So that they may fear you to walk in ways your all the days which they [are] alive on [the] surface of the land which you gave to ancestors our.
32 Akuthi owezizweni ongasuye omunye wabantu bakho bako-Israyeli kodwa evela elizweni elikhatshana ngenxa yodumo lwebizo lakho lesandla sakho esilamandla lengalo yakho elulekileyo, nxa esiza ekhuleka ekhangele kulelithempeli,
And also to the foreigner who not [is] one of people your Israel he and he will come - from a land distant for [the] sake of name your great and hand your mighty and arm your outstretched and they will come and they will pray to the house this.
33 umuzwe usezulwini, lona eliyindawo yakho yokuhlala, umenzele owezizweni loba kuyini akucela kuwe, ukuze kuthi abantu bonke emhlabeni balazi ibizo lakho bakwesabe, njengalokhu abantu bakho bako-Israyeli bekwenza, ukuze bazi ukuthi lindlu engiyakhileyo ngeyeBizo lakho.
And you you will hear from the heavens from [the] place of dwelling you and you will do according to all that he will call out to you the foreigner so that they may know all [the] peoples of the earth name your and to fear you like people your Israel and to know that name your it has been called on the house this which I have built.

35 uzwe usezulwini imikhuleko yabo lokuncenga kwabo, ubamele wena.
And you will hear from the heavens prayer their and supplication their and you will do justice their.
36 Nxa bonile phambi kwakho, ngoba kakho ongoniyo njalo uze ubathukuthelele ubanikele ezitheni zabo ezibathumba zibase elizweni elikhatshana loba eliseduzane,
If they will sin to you for there not [is] anyone who not he sins and you will be angry with them and will you deliver up them before an enemy and they will take captive them captors their to a land distant or near.
37 kuthi nxa bengaguquka ezinhliziyweni zabo besemazweni abayabe bethunjelwe kuwo, baphenduke bakuncenge besemazweni abathunjelwa khona bathi, ‘Sonile, senza okungalunganga lokubi,’
And they will bring back to heart their in the land where they have been taken captive there and they will repent - and they will seek favor to you in [the] land of captivity their saying we have sinned we have done wrong and we have acted wickedly.
38 loba nxa bephendukela kuwe ngezinhliziyo zabo zonke langemiphefumulo yabo elizweni njalo bekhuleka bekhangele elizweni owalinika oyise, edolobheni owalikhethayo lasethempelini engilakhele iBizo lakho;
And they will return to you with all heart their and with all being their in [the] land of captivity their where they took captive them and they will pray [the] direction of land their which you gave to ancestors their and the city which you have chosen and to the house which I have built for name your.
39 ngakho wena osezulwini, endaweni yakho yokuhlala, akuzwe imikhuleko yabo lokuncenga kwabo, ubamele. Njalo ubathethelele abantu bakho, bona abakoneleyo.
And you will hear from the heavens from [the] place of dwelling you prayer their and supplications their and you will do justice their and you will forgive people your who they have sinned to you.
40 Ngakho-ke, Nkulunkulu wami sengathi amehlo akho angavuleka lezindlebe zakho zilalele imikhuleko eyenziwa kule indawo.
Now O God my let them be please eyes your open and ears your attentive to [the] prayer of the place this.
41 Ngakho phakama, Oh Thixo Nkulunkulu,
And now arise! O Yahweh God to resting place your you and [the] ark of strength your priests your O Yahweh God may they be clothed salvation and faithful [people] your may they rejoice in the good.
42 Oh Thixo Nkulunkulu, ungafulatheli ogcotshiweyo wakho.
O Yahweh God may not you turn away [the] faces of anointed [one] your remember! [the] covenant loyalti of David servant your.
