1 USawuli watshela indodana yakhe uJonathani kanye lezinceku zonke ukuba babulale uDavida. Kodwa uJonathani wayemthanda uDavida
And he spoke Saul to Jonathan son his and to all servants his to kill David and Jonathan [the] son of Saul he delighted in David exceedingly.
2 ngakho wamxwayisa wathi, “Ubaba uSawuli udinga ithuba lokukubulala. Qaphela kusasa ekuseni; hamba uyecatsha uhlale khona.
And he told Jonathan to David saying [is] seeking Saul father my to kill you and therefore take care please in the morning and you will remain in the hiding place and you will hide yourself.
3 Mina ngizaphuma ngiyekuma lobaba egangeni lapho okhona. Ngizakhuluma laye ngawe njalo ngizakutshela lokho engizakuthola.”
And I I will go out and I will stand to [the] side of father my in the field where you [are] there and I I will speak in you to father my and I will see whatever and I will tell to you.
4 UJonathani wakhuluma kuhle ngoDavida kuSawuli uyise wathi kuye, “Inkosi kayingenzi okubi encekwini yayo uDavida, konanga lutho kuwe, njalo akwenzileyo kukusize kakhulu.
And he spoke Jonathan in David good to Saul father his and he said to him may not he sin the king against servant his against David for not he has sinned to you and for deeds his [are] good for you exceedingly.
5 Wadela impilo yakhe ekubulaleni kwakhe umFilistiya. Uthixo wazuzela u-Israyeli ukunqoba okukhulu, lawe wakubona njalo wathaba. Pho kungani ungenza okubi emuntwini omsulwa njengoDavida ngokumbulala kungelasizatho na?”
And he put life his in palm his and he struck down the Philistine and he made Yahweh a deliverance great for all Israel you saw and you rejoiced and why? will you sin against blood innocent by killing David without cause.
6 USawuli wamlalela uJonathani wasefunga isifungo lesi esithi, “Ngeqiniso elinjengoba uThixo ekhona, uDavida kayikubulawa.”
And he listened Saul to [the] voice of Jonathan and he swore an oath Saul [by] [the] life of Yahweh if he will be put to death.
7 Ngakho uJonathani wabiza uDavida wamtshela inkulumo yonke. Wamusa kuSawuli, uDavida wahlala loSawuli njengakuqala.
And he called Jonathan to David and he told to him Jonathan all the words these and he brought Jonathan David to Saul and he was before him as yesterday three days ago.
8 Kwabuya kwaba lempi futhi, uDavida waphuma ukuyakulwa lamaFilistiya. Wawatshaya ngamandla amakhulu aze abaleka.
And it repeated the war to be and he went out David and he fought against the Philistines and he defeated them a defeat great and they fled from before him.
9 Kodwa umoya omubi owavela kuThixo wafika kuSawuli ehlezi endlini yakhe ephethe umkhonto wakhe ngesandla. Kwathi uDavida etshaya ichacho,
And it was a spirit of Yahweh - evil to Saul and he in house his [was] sitting and spear his [was] in hand his and David [was] playing an instrument with hand.
10 uSawuli wazama ukumnamathisela emdulini ngomkhonto wakhe, kodwa uDavida wavika uSawuli wagwaza umduli ngomkhonto. Ngalobobusuku uDavida waphunyuka wabaleka.
And he sought Saul to strike with the spear David and the wall and he escaped from before Saul and he struck the spear in the wall and David he fled and he escaped in the night that.
11 USawuli wathuma izithunywa endlini kaDavida ukuba bayilinde njalo bambulale ekuseni. Kodwa uMikhali, umkaDavida, wamxwayisa wathi, “Nxa ungabaleki ngalobubusuku ukuba uvikele impilo yakho kusasa uzabulawa.”
And he sent Saul messengers to [the] house of David to watch for him and to kill him in the morning and she told to David Michal wife his saying if not you [are] delivering life your this night tomorrow you [will be] put to death.
12 Ngakho uMikhali wehlisela uDavida phansi emkhuphe ngefasitela, wabaleka-ke waphepha.
And she let down Michal David through the window and he went and he fled and he escaped.
13 Emva kwalokho uMikhali wathatha isithombe wasilalisa embhedeni, wasembesa ngengubo ebeke uboya bembuzi ekhanda.
And she took Michal the teraphim and she put [it] into the bed and quilt of goat hair she put [the] place of head its and she covered [it] with the garment.
14 USawuli esethume abantu ukuba bayethumba uDavida, uMikhali wathi, “Uyagula.”
And he sent Saul messengers to fetch David and she said [is] sick he.
15 USawuli wababuyisela abantu labo ukuba bayebona uDavida esithi kubo, “Mletheni kimi ngombheda wakhe ukuze ngimbulale.”
And he sent Saul the messengers to see David saying bring up him on the bed to me to kill him.
16 Kodwa kwathi amadoda lawo engena, embhedeni kwakulesithombe, ekhanda kuloboya bembuzi.
And they came the messengers and there! the teraphim [was] to the bed and [the] quilt of goat hair [the] place of head its.
17 USawuli wathi kuMikhali, “Kungani ungikhohlise kanje wabalekisa isitha sami ukuze siphephe?” UMikhali wathi kuye, “Uthe kimi, ‘Yekela ngibaleke. Ngingakubulalelani na?’”
And he said Saul to Michal why? thus have you deceived me and you have let go enemy my and he has escaped and she said Michal to Saul he he said to me let go me why? will I kill you.
18 UDavida esebaleke waphepha, waya kuSamuyeli eRama wamtshela konke okwakwenziwe nguSawuli kuye. Ngakho yena loSamuyeli baya eNayothi bahlala khona.
And David he fled and he escaped and he went to Samuel Ramah towards and he told to him all that he had done to him Saul and he went he and Samuel and they dwelt (at Naioth. *Q(k)*)
19 Ilizwi lafika kuSawuli lisithi: “UDavida useNayothi eRama.”
And it was told to Saul saying there! David ([is] at Naioth *Q(k)*) in Ramah.
20 Ngakho wathuma abantu ukuba bayemthumba. Kodwa bathi bebona ixuku labaphrofethi liphrofitha, loSamuyeli emi khonapho njengomkhokheli wabo, uMoya kaNkulunkulu wehlela ebantwini bakaSawuli labo baphrofetha.
And he sent Saul messengers to fetch David and he saw [the] company of the prophets prophesying and Samuel [was] standing chief over them and it was on [the] messengers of Saul [the] spirit of God and they prophesied also they.
21 USawuli wakutshelwa lokho wasethuma abanye abantu, labo baphrofetha. USawuli wathuma abantu okwesithathu, labo futhi baphrofetha.
And people told to Saul and he sent messengers other and they prophesied also they and he repeated Saul and he sent messengers third and they prophesied also they.
22 Ekucineni, yena ngokwakhe wasuka waya eRama, wasesiya emgodini omkhulu eSekhu. Wabuza wathi, “USamuyeli loDavida bangaphi?” Bathi, “Le eNayothi eRama.”
And he went also he Ramah towards and he came to a cistern great which [is] in Secu and he asked and he said where? [are] Samuel and David and someone said there! (at Naioth *Q(k)*) in Ramah.
23 Ngakho uSawuli waya eNayothi eRama. Kodwa uMoya kaNkulunkulu wehlela lakuye, wahamba ephrofitha waze wayafika eNayothi.
And he went there to (Naioth *Q(k)*) in Ramah and it was on him also he [the] spirit of God and he went continuously and he prophesied until came he (at Naioth *Q(k)*) in Ramah.
24 Wakhulula izigqoko zakhe laye waphrofitha uSamuyeli ekhona. Walala enjalo ilanga lonke lobusuku bonke. Yikho-nje abantu besithi, “Kanti uSawuli laye uphakathi kwabaphrofethi na?”
And he stripped off also he clothes his and he prophesied also he before Samuel and he fell down naked all the day that and all the night there-fore people say ¿ also [is] Saul among the prophets.
