1 UDavida, elabalawuli bamabutho, wakhetha abanye bamadodana ka-Asafi, uHemani loJeduthuni emsebenzini wokuphrofetha, baphelekezelwa yimihubhe lamachacho lezigubhu. Nantu uluhlu lwamadoda ayesenza lowomsebenzi:
Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
2 Emadodaneni ka-Asafi: nguZakhuri, loJosefa, loNethaniya kanye lo-Asarela. Amadodana ka-Asafi ayesesandleni sika-Asafi, yena owayephrofetha esesandleni senkosi.
Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.
3 NgakuJeduthuni, amadodana akhe yila: nguGedaliya, loZeri, loJeshaya loShimeyi, loHashabhiya kanye loMathithiya, beyisithupha ndawonye, besesandleni sikayise uJeduthuni, owayephrofetha esebenzisa umhubhe ukubonga lokudumisa uThixo.
Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
4 NgakuHemani, amadodana akhe yila: nguBhukhiya, loMathaniya, lo-Uziyeli, loShubhayeli kanye loJerimothi; uHananiya, loHanani, lo-Eliyatha, loGidalithi loRomamthi-Ezeri; loJoshibhekhasha, loMalothi, loHothiri kanye loMahaziyothi.
Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, [and] Mahazioth:
5 Bonke laba kwakungamadodana kaHemani umboni wenkosi. Bona ebaphiwe ngesithembiso sikaNkulunkulu sokumphakamisa. UNkulunkulu wapha uHemani amadodana alitshumi lane lamadodakazi amathathu.
All these [were] the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
6 Wonke lamadoda ayephethwe ngoyise emsebenzini wokuhlabela ethempelini likaThixo, ngezigubhu, amachacho lemihubhe enkonzweni endlini kaNkulunkulu. U-Asafi, loJeduthuni kanye loHemani babengaphansi kwenkosi.
All these [were] under the hands of their father for song [in] the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
7 Bona kanye lezihlobo zabo zonke babewufundele umsebenzi wokuhlabelela njalo bengamagabazi okuhlabelela uThixo, babengamakhulu amabili lamatshumi ayisificaminwembili labantu abayisificaminwembili.
So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, [even] all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.
8 Abatsha labadala ngokufanayo, abafundisayo lababefunda, baphosa inkatho.
And they cast lots, ward against [ward], as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.
9 Inkatho yakuqala eyayingeka-Asafi yawela kuJosefa lamadodana akhe kanye lezihlobo zakhe, belitshumi lambili; eyesibili yawela kuGedaliya, yena kanye lezihlobo lamadodana akhe belitshumi lambili;
Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons [were] twelve:
10 eyesithathu yawela kuZakhuri, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo zakhe, belitshumi lambili;
The third to Zaccur, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
11 eyesine yawela ku-Iziri, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo zakhe belitshumi lambili;
The fourth to Izri, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
12 eyesihlanu yawela kuNethaniya, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo zakhe belitshumi lambili;
The fifth to Nethaniah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
13 eyesithupha yawela kuBhukhiya, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The sixth to Bukkiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
14 eyesikhombisa yawela kuJesarela, lamadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The seventh to Jesharelah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
15 eyesificaminwembili yawela kuJeshayiya, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The eighth to Jeshaiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
16 eyesificamunwemunye yawela kuMathaniya, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The ninth to Mattaniah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
17 eyetshumi yawela kuShimeyi, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The tenth to Shimei, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
18 eyetshumi lanye yawela ku-Azareli, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The eleventh to Azareel, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
19 eyetshumi lambili yawela kuHashabhiya, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The twelfth to Hashabiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
20 eyetshumi lantathu yawela kuShubhayeli, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The thirteenth to Shubael, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
21 eyetshumi lane yawela kuMathithiya, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The fourteenth to Mattithiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
22 eyetshumi lanhlanu yawela kuJerimothi, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The fifteenth to Jeremoth, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
23 eyetshumi lesithupha yawela kuHananiya, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The sixteenth to Hananiah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
24 eyetshumi lesikhombisa yawela kuJoshibhekhasha, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The seventeenth to Joshbekashah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
25 eyetshumi lasificaminwembili yawela kuHanani, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The eighteenth to Hanani, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
26 eyetshumi lesificamunwemunye yawela kuMalothi, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The nineteenth to Mallothi, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
27 eyamatshumi amabili yawela ku-Eliyatha, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The twentieth to Eliathah, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
28 eyamatshumi amabili lanye yawela kuHothiri, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The one and twentieth to Hothir, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
29 eyamatshumi amabili lambili yawela kuGidalithi, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The two and twentieth to Giddalti, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
30 eyamatshumi amabili lantathu yawela kuMahaziyothi, lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili;
The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve:
31 eyamatshumi amabili lane yawela kuRomamthi-Ezeri lakumadodana akhe lezihlobo, belitshumi lambili.
The four and twentieth to Romamti-ezer, [he], his sons, and his brethren, [were] twelve.
