And sons of Gomer: Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

7 Amadodana kaJavani ayeyila: u-Elisha, uThashishi, uKhithimi loRodanimu.

And sons of Javan: Elisha, and Tarshishah, Kittim, and Dodanim.

8 Amadodana kaHamu ayeyila: uKhushi, uMizirayimi, uPhuthi loKhenani.

Sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9 Amadodana kaKhushi ayeyila: uSebha, uHavila, uSabhitha, uRahama loSabhitheka. Amadodana kaRahama ayeyila: uShebha loDedani.

And sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecka. And sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10 UKhushi wayenguyise kaNimrodi, owakhula waba liqhawe elilamandla emhlabeni.

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the land.

11 UMizirayimi wayenguyise wamaLudi, ama-Anami, amaLehabhi, amaNafithuhi,

And Mizraim begat the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,

12 amaPhathrosi, lamaKhasiluhi (okwadabuka khona amaFilistiya) lamaKhafithori.

and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim (from whom came out the Philistim), and the Caphtorim.

13 UKhenani wayenguyise kaSidoni izibulo lakhe, amaHithi,

And Canaan begat Zidon his first born, and Heth,

14 amaJebusi, ama-Amori, amaGigashi,

and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

15 amaHivi, ama-Arikhi, amaSini,

and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

16 ama-Avadi, amaZemari kanye lamaHamathi.

and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

17 Amadodana kaShemu ayeyila: u-Elamu, u-Ashuri, u-Afazadi, uLudi lo-Aramu. Amadodana ka-Aramu ayeyila: u-Uzi, uHuli, uGetha loMesheki.

Sons of Shem: Elam and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

18 U-Afazadi wayenguyise kaShela, uShela wazala u-Ebha.

And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

19 Amadodana amabili ayezalwa ngu-Ebha ayeyila: Omunye wayenguPhelegi, ngoba ngezinsuku zakhe umhlaba wawudabuke phakathi; umfowabo kwakuthiwa nguJokithani.

And to Eber have been born two sons, the name of the one [is] Peleg, for in his days hath the land been divided, and the name of his brother is Joktan.

20 UJokithani wayenguyise ka-Alimodadi, uShelefi, uHazarimavethi, uJera,

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

21 uHadoramu, u-Uzali, uDikila,

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

22 u-Obhali, u-Abhimayeli, uShebha,

and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

23 u-Ofiri, uHavila kanye loJobhabhi. Bonke laba babengamadodana kaJokithani.

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan.

24 UShemu, u-Afazadi uShela,

Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

25 u-Ebha, uPhelegi, uRewu

Eber, Peleg, Reu,

26 uSerugi, uNahori, uThera

Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 lo-Abhrama (u-Abhrahama).

Abram — he [is] Abraham.

28 Amadodana ka-Abhrahama ayeyila: u-Isaka lo-Ishumayeli.

Sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

29 Laba babeyinzalo yabo: uNebhayothi izibulo lika-Ishumayeli, uKhedari, u-Adibheli, uMibhisamu,

These [are] their generations: first-born of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar, and Adheel, and Mibsam,

And sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

33 Amadodana kaMidiyani ayeyila: u-Efa, u-Eferi, uHanokhi, u-Abhida lo-Elida. Bonke laba babeyizizukulwane zikaKhethura.

And sons of Midian: Ephah and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah; all these [are] sons of Keturah.

34 U-Abhrahama wayenguyise ka-Isaka. Amadodana ka-Isaka ayeyila: u-Esawu lo-Israyeli.

And Abraham begetteth Isaac. Sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

35 Amadodana ka-Esawu ayeyila: u-Elifazi, uRuweli, uJewushi, uJalamu loKhora.

Sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

36 Amadodana ka-Elifazi ayeyila: uThemani, u-Omari, uZefi, uGathamu loKhenazi; ekaThimina kungu-Amaleki.

Sons of Eliphaz: Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

37 Amadodana kaRuweli ayeyila: uNahathi, uZera, uShama loMiza.

Sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 Amadodana kaSeyiri ayeyila: uLothani, uShobhali, uZibhiyoni, u-Ana, uDishoni, u-Ezeri loDishani.

And sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezar, and Dishan.

39 Amadodana kaLothani ayeyila: uHori loHomami. UThimina wayengudadewabo kaLothani.

And sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam, and sister of Lotan [is] Timna.

40 Amadodana kaShobhali ayeyila: u-Alivani, uManahathi, u-Ebhali, uShefo lo-Onami. Amadodana kaZibhiyoni ayeyila: u-Ayiya lo-Ana.

Sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And sons of Zideon: Aiah and Anah.

41 Indodana ka-Ana yayingu: uDishoni. Amadodana kaDishoni ayeyila: uHemirani, u-Eshibhani, u-Ithirani loKherani.

The sons of Anah: Dishon. and sons of Dishon: Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

42 Amadodana ka-Ezeri ayeyila: uBhilihani, uZavani lo-Akhani. Amadodana kaDishoni ayeyila: u-Uzi lo-Arani.

Sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zavan, Jakan. Sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43 La ayengamakhosi abusa e-Edomi kungakabusi inkosi yako-Israyeli: uBhela indodana kaBheyori, idolobho lakhe lalibizwa ngokuthi yiDinihabha.

And these [are] the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king of the sons of Israel: Bela son of Beor, and the name of his city [is] Dinhabah.

44 UBhela esefile, uJobhabhi indodana kaZera waseBhozira wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.

And Bela dieth, and reign in his stead doth Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrali;

45 UJobhabhi esefile, uHushamu waselizweni lamaThemani wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.

and Jobab dieth, and reign in his stead doth Husham from the land of the Temanite;

46 UHushamu esefile, uHadadi indodana kaBhedadi owanqoba uMidiyani elizweni laseMowabi, wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi. Idolobho lakhe lalibizwa ngokuthi yi-Avithi.

and Husham dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadad, son of Bedad (who smiteth Midian in the field of Moab) and the name of his city [is] Avith;

47 UHadadi esefile, uSamila waseMasirekha wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.

and Hadad dieth, and reign in his stead doth Samlah from Masrekah;

48 USamila esefile, uShawuli waseRehobhothi phezu komfula wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.

and Samlah dieth, and reign in his stead doth Shaul from Rehoboth of the River;

49 UShawuli esefile, uBhali-Hanani indodana ka-Akhibhori wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi.

and Shaul dieth, and reign in his stead doth Baal-Hanan son of Achbor;

50 UBhali-Hanani esefile, uHadadi wathatha umbuso waba yinkosi. Idolobho lakhe labizwa ngokuthi yiPawu, njalo ibizo lomkakhe lalinguMehethabheli indodakazi kaMathiredi, indodakazi kaMe-Zahabhi.

and Baal-Hanan dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadad, and the name of his city [is] Pai, and the name of his wife [is] Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-Zahab; Hadad also dieth.

51 UHadadi laye wafa. Izinduna zase-Edomi kwakuyilezi: uThimina, u-Aliva, uJethethi,

And chiefs of Edom are: chief Timnah, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,

52 u-Oholibhama, u-Ela, uPhinoni,

53 uKhenazi, uThemani, uMibhizari,

chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

54 uMagidiyeli lo-Iramu. Lezi kwakuzinduna ze-Edomi.

chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These [are] chiefs of Edom.
