< Roomte 9 >
1 Ngah ih ami tiit baat hang; ngah Kristo mina eno ngah ih eleek tiit tabaat kang. Ngaathung ngaatak ah, Esa Chiiala ih maak halang, erah damdi ngah suh eleek tiit tabaat thuk rang
I am speaking the truth in Christ, it is no lie. My conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit that I have deep sorrow
2 nga chamnaang tumthan ehan ah ih taatli ang bah uh, adoleh ngah ten sat ah lathoon thang taat ang abah uh,
and incessant anguish in my heart.
3 nga mina ngaasi ngaahan loong raangtaan ih ah! Neng tungthoih nga ih Rangte tenkhat nep chote ih thuntang nyia Kristo jiin nawa haloh nah angte nep ih thuntang.
For I was on the point of praying to be accursed from Christ on behalf of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh.
4 Neng loong ah Rangte mina; heh ih neng hesuh hesah ih thiik rumha eno heh rangkaajih ah dongjat thuk rumha, heh ih neng damdi jengdang ah hoon ano Hootthe ah thiin korumta; neng ih amiimi ih Rangte ah soom rum ano Rangte jeng kakham ah choh rumta;
For they are Israelites; to them belong the sonship, the Shekinah glory, the covenants, the giving of the Law; the service of the temple, and the promises;
5 neng ah Hebruute awah sutoom satoom ang rumta; eno Kristo uh mina jun ih neng jaat ju angta. Erah loong panchante wah seng Rangte ajuuba roitang phoongpha theng ju angka! Amen. (aiōn )
theirs are the patriarchs, and of them, as concerning the flesh, is Christ, who is over all, God, blessed forever, Amen. (aiōn )
6 Nga ih Rangte jeng kakham tapunka ih taliikang, tumeah Ijirel nawa mina loongtang ah Rangte mih tah angka.
It is not, however, as though God’s word had failed! For they are not all Israel who have sprung from Israel;
7 Adoleh Abraham sutoom satoom loongtang ah Rangte sutoom satoom tah ang rumka. Rangte ih Abraham suh amet baatta, “An damdi khakham hala langla, Isak puh asak nawa ih ba an sutoom satoom ah tup uh.”
they are not all children of Abraham because they are Abraham’s descendants. The promise was, In Isaac shall thy posterity be called.
8 Erah langla marah noodek jojang ih tup ha loong abah Rangte sah tami angka; erah nang ih noodek marah Rangte jeng kakham jun ih tup ha loong abah amiimi Abraham sutoom satoom ang ah.
That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as his posterity.
9 Tumeah Rangte jeng kakham ah arah jengkhaap jun ih angta: “Anoong arah tokdoh ngah ngaak ra ehang, eno Saara ih miwasah dong tup ah.”
For thus is the word of promise, According to this season I will come, and Sarah shall bear a son.
10 Enoothong erah luulu tah angka. Tumeah Rebika sah khaangpeh wanyi ah seng loong te awah Isak wasiit sah angta.
And not only so, but when Rebecca was pregnant by our forefather Isaac, though one man was the father of both children,
11 Heh sah wanyi dowa wasiit abah Rangte mootkaat raang ih jaat danje arah, Rebika suh Rangte ih amet baatta, “Phokhoh rah noolih jeng chaatte ang ah.” Rangte ih erah nyi maangtupka di nyi ethih ese maang danjat nyuuka jaakhoh ih dook banbaatta; erah thoih Rangte ih neng mootkaat pakna ah sok ano tadan poonka erah nang ih heh thunghaanla jun danpoon ha.
and even though they were still unborn, and had done nothing either good or bad, in order that the purpose of God might stand according to election, not of works, but of Him who called,
it was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 Rangteele ni liiha likhiik, “Jaakob ah nook ehang, Esau ah echiik ehang.”
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 Erah ang abah, seng ih Rangte ah asuh tapunka ih emi li tam et ih? Seng ih tami liike.
What shall we say then? that there is injustice with God? No indeed.
15 Tumeah Rangte ih Moses suh uh amet baatta, “Ngah ih nga thung o suh pun ah erah mih ah minchan ang nyia nga thung o suh haan ang erah tenthet et ang.”
His words to Moses are. I will have mercy on whom I choose to have mercy; I will have compassion on whom I choose to have compassion.
16 Erah thoih jaatrep ah seng reeraang nyia ejam et hi jun ih tami angka, erah nang ih Rangte minchan tenthet luulu nawa ih ba jen ang ah.
So then it is not a question of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy.
17 Ijip luungwang raang ih Rangteele ni amet liiha, “An luungwang ih hoon thuk taha ah langla, nga chaan nga phaan ah an sak nawa ih arah mongrep mina loong suh noisok raangtaan ih.”
For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, It is for this very purpose that I have raised you up, To show in you my power, And to proclaim my name far and wide, in all the earth.
18 Eno laalek Rangte ih heh thungthung jun ih mararah ah minchan eha nyia mararah asuh jong ajaan tenthun likhiik ang thuk ah.
So then he has mercy on whom he will, and whom he will, he hardens.
19 Enoothong sengdung nawa wasiit than ih ngah suh liite, emah ang abah Rangte ih o ang abah uh ethetreete ah mamet mi jatjoh ah? Rangte thung atak ah o ih jen daan ah?”
Then you will say to me. "Why does he still go on finding fault? Who can withstand his will?"
20 Enoothong joon awaan loong, Rangte damdoh jen daakwaan theethe sen o ah? Paaktek ih heh hoon teewah mina asuh miicheng nih et ah, “An ih nga arah likhiik mamet hoon tahang?”
"Nay, but who are you, O man, that replies to God? Shall the thing formed say unto him who formed it, "Why did you do me like this?"
21 Erah nang ih bah tek hoonte warah ih heh mame thunghaan ah erah jun ih ba maak ah, erarah paakkon dowa reh tek enyi ah hoon ano, esiit ah hoondak rangwuung doh jen maak ah, eno esiit ah jojang rangteng doh jen maak ah.
Or has not the potter power over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for noble, and another for ignoble uses?
22 Eno amiisak di erah likhiik Rangte ih hoonha. Heh ih heh tenkhat nyia hechaan hephaan ah dongjat thuk suh ah. Enoothong o suh heh tenkhat jih taat angta nyia thet haatjih taat angta bah uh rapne ih naanta.
But what if God, while intending to show forth his wrath, and to make known his power, yet endured, with much long-suffering, vessels of wrath, fitted to destruction?
23 Erah dam ih uh, heh ih minchan hali seng loong asuh hechaan hephaan ah noisok thuk suh liiha, seng loong ah hechaan hephaan chosuh maang ih dook ban khookham he rah angti.
And what if he thus purposed to make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared for glory?
24 Tumeah seng loong ah heh ih poonhe rah noksong, enoothong seng loong ah Jehudi dung nawa luulu lah angthang ih Ranglajatte dung nawa nep.
Now such are we whom he has called, not only from among the Jews, but also from among the Gentiles.
25 Hosia leedap ni heh ih aradi amet liiha: “Marah mina loong nga mih tah angta Erah loong ah ‘Nga mina ih poon ang.’ Marah deek akaan nga ih tah minchan tang Erah loong ah ‘Nga mongnook’ ih poon ang.
As he also said in Hosea. Those who were not my people I will call "my people," And her "beloved" who was not beloved;
26 Marah dowa ih ngah ih neng suh ‘Nga mina tah ang kan’ ih baat rumtang, erah dowa ih neng ah ething Rangte suh asah et poon rum ang.”
And in that very spot where it was told them, "You are not my people," There they shall be called "Sons of the living God."
27 Erah dam ih Isaia ih Ijirel hadaang tiit baatta: Ijirel mina loong ah juungsih dowa phisaang thanthan taat ang ang abah uh neng dung dowa eneeko mina ah ba pi ah;
And in regard to Israel, Isaiah exclaims. Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sands of the sea, it is but a remnant of those who shall be saved;
28 tumeah Teesu ih mongrep nawa heh mootkaat ah echaan ih phansiit raaha.”
for the Lord will execute his word upon the earth, finishing it and cutting it short.
29 Jaakhoh ni Isaia ih banbaatta likhiik, “Teesu Elongthoon ih mararah heh sutoom satoom loong dowa lamok thingtong thukta bah, seng uh Sodom nyi Gomora likhiik ih ang thengti.”
Even as in an earlier passage, Isaiah says, Except the Lord of Sabbath had us some few descendants, we should have become like Sodom, and should have fared like Gomorrah.
30 Erah thoih seng ih liihi Ranglajatte loong ah ih Rangte damdi kateng angsuh tathun rumta, neng loong ah neng tuungmaang jun ih kateng ih hoon thuk rumta adi;
What then shall we say? That Gentiles who never pursed righteousness have overtaken it, even the righteousness of faith?
31 Rangte mina o ih Rangte damdoh kateng angsuh hootthe jam rumta loong ah ih tachoh jam rumta.
But that the descendants of Israel, who were in pursuit of a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law?
32 Mamah lachoh eta? Tumeah neng ih neng tuungmaang asuh lalaalom thang ih, neng mootkaat asuh laalom rumta. Erah thoidi neng lam ngah nawa “ebanbot theng jong” adi banbot rumta.
And why? Because they sought it not by faith, but thought to gain it by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling;
33 Erah tiit ah Rangteele ni baatcho: “Sok an ngah ih Jaion hadaang ni jong thiin hang erah doh mina loong ah banbot rum ah, erah jong adoh banbot leh datti ih rum ah. Enoothong o mina heh suh hanpiiha loong abah tathungjoongka.
even as it is written. Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; but he that believes on Him shall not be put to shame.
