ဆာလံ 137

1 ၁ ဗာဗုလုန်မြစ်တို့အနားမှာ ငါတို့သည်ထိုင်၍၊ ဇိအုန်မြို့ကို အောက်မေ့လျက် ငိုကြွေးကြ၏။

For David, [a Psalm] of Jeremias. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat; and wept when we remembered Sion.

2 ၂ ငါတို့စောင်းများကိုလည်း ထိုအရပ်တွင် မိုဃ်း မခပင်တို့၌ ဆွဲထားကြ၏။

We hung our harps on the willows in the midst of it.

3 ၃ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုအရပ်၌ ငါတို့ကို ဘမ်း သွားချုပ်ထားသော သူနှင့်၊ ငါတို့ကိုညှဉ်းဆဲသောသူတို့က၊ ဇိအုန်သီချင်းကို ငါတို့အား ဆိုကြလော့ဟု၊ သီချင်းဆိုသံကို ၎င်း၊ ရွှင်လန်းသော အသံကို၎င်း ငါတို့၌ တောင်းကြပါ သည်တကား။

For there they that had taken us captive asked of us the words of a song; and they that had carried us away [asked] a hymn, [saying], Sing us [one] of the songs of Sion.

4 ၄ တကျွန်းတနိုင်ငံ၌ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ သီချင်းကို အဘယ်သို့ ဆိုရပါမည်နည်း။

How should we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?

5 ၅ အိုယေရုရှလင်မြို့၊ သင့်ကို ငါမေ့လျှင် ငါ့လက်ျာ လက်သည် မိမိအတတ်ကိုမေ့ပါစေ။

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget [its skill].

6 ၆ သင့်ကိုငါမအောက်မေ့၊အမြတ်ဆုံးသော ဝမ်း မြောက်ခြင်းအကြောင်းထက်၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့ကို အမြတ် မထားလျှင်၊ ငါ့လျှာသည် အာခေါင်၌ထပ်ပါစေ။

May my tongue cleave to my throat, if I do not remember thee; if I do not prefer Jerusalem as the chief of my joy.

7 ၇ အိုထာဝရဘုရား၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၏နေ့ရက် အချိန်ရောက်သောအခါ၊ မြို့ရိုးကို အမြစ်တိုင်အောင် ရှင်းလိုက်ကြ၊ ရှင်းလိုက်ကြဟု ဆိုကြသော ဧဒုံအမျိုးသား တို့ကို အောက်မေ့တော်မူပါ။

Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase [it], rase [it], even to its foundations.

8 ၈ ဖျက်ဆီးတတ်သော ဗာဗုလုန်မင်းသမီး၊ သင် သည် ငါတို့၌ ပြုသည်အတိုင်း၊ သင်၌အပြစ်ကိုဆပ်ပေး သောသူသည် မင်္ဂလာရှိ၏။

Wretched daughter of Babylon! blessed [shall he be] who shall reward thee as thou hast rewarded us.

9 ၉ သင်၏သူငယ်တို့ကိုကိုင်ယူ၍၊ ကျောက်ပေါ်မှာ ဆောင့်သော သူသည် မင်္ဂလာရှိ၏။

Blessed [shall he be] who shall seize and dash thine infants against the rock.
