သုတ္တံကျမ်း 13
1 ၁ ပညာရှိသောသားသည် အဘ၏သွန်သင်ခြင်း ကို နားထောင်တတ်၏။ မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသားမူကား၊ အပြစ်တင်ခြင်းကို နားမထောင်တတ်။
A wise son hears his father’s instruction: but a scorner hears not rebuke.
2 ၂ လူသည် မိမိနှုတ်၏အသီးတည်းဟူသော ကောင်းသောအရာကို စားရ၏။ ပြစ်မှားတတ်သော သူမူ ကား၊ ညှဉ်းဆဲခြင်းအပြစ်၏အသီးကို စားရ၏။
A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
3 ၃ မိမိနှုတ်ကိုစောင့်သောသူသည် မိမိအသက်ကို စောင့်၏။ မိမိနှုတ်ကို ကျယ်ကျယ်ဖွင့်သောသူမူကား၊ ပျက်စီးခြင်းသို့ရောက်တတ်၏။
He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: but he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
4 ၄ ပျင်းရိသောသူသည် အဘယ်အရာကိုမျှ တောင့် တ၍ မရတတ်။ လုံ့လဝိရိယပြုသောသူမူကား၊ မိမိအလို ဆန္ဒပြည့်စုံရ၏။
The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
5 ၅ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူသည် မုသာစကားကို မုန်း တတ်၏။ မတရားသောသူမူကား၊ စက်ဆုပ်ဘွယ်ဖြစ်၍၊ အရှက်ကွဲခြင်းသို့ ရောက်တတ်၏။
A righteous man hates lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and comes to shame.
6 ၆ ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းတရားသည် လမ်းမလွှဲသော သူကိုစောင့်တတ်၏။ ဒုစရိုက်တရားမူကား၊ အပြစ်ရှိသော သူကိုလှဲတတ်၏။
Righteousness keeps him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
There is that makes himself rich, yet has nothing: there is that makes himself poor, yet has great riches.
The ransom of a man’s life are his riches: but the poor hears not rebuke.
The light of the righteous rejoices: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
Only by pride comes contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
11 ၁၁ လျှပ်ပေါ်ခြင်းအားဖြင့် ဥစ္စာသည်လျော့တတ် ၏။ ကြိုးစားအား ထုတ်၍ဆည်းဖူးသော သူ၏ဥစ္စာမူကား၊ ပြန့်ပွားတတ်၏။
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathers by labor shall increase.
12 ၁၂ မြော်လင့်သောအရာသည် ဖင့်နွဲလျှင်၊ စိတ်နှလုံး ကို ပူပန်စေတတ်၏။ အလိုပြည့်စုံသောအခါမူကား အသက်ပင်ဖြစ်၏။
Hope deferred makes the heart sick: but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
13 ၁၃ နှုတ်ကပတ်တော်ကို မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသူသည် ပျက်စီးလိမ့်မည်။ ပညတ်တရားတော်ကိုခန့်ညားသော သူမူကား၊ ချမ်းသာရလိမ့်မည်။
Whoever despises the word shall be destroyed: but he that fears the commandment shall be rewarded.
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Good understanding gives favor: but the way of transgressors is hard.
16 ၁၆ သမ္မာသတိရှိသော သူအပေါင်းတို့သည် ပညာ အတတ်နှင့်ပြုမူတတ်ကြ၏။ မိုက်သောသူမူကား၊ မိမိမိုက် သော အပြစ်ကို ထင်ရှားစေတတ်၏။
Every prudent man deals with knowledge: but a fool lays open his folly.
17 ၁၇ မတရားသောအစေခံသည် မိမိစောင့်သောအမှု ကို ဖျက်တတ်၏။သစ္စာရှိသော သံတမန်မူကား၊ ကျန်းမာ ခြင်းအကြောင်းဖြစ်၏။
A wicked messenger falls into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
18 ၁၈ သွန်သင်ခြင်းကို ငြင်းပယ်သောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲ ခြင်းနှင့်ရှက်ကြောက်ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။ ဆုံးမသော စကားကို နားထောင်သော သူမူကား၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေကို ရလိမ့်မည်။
Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction: but he that regards reproof shall be honored.
19 ၁၉ အလိုဆန္ဒပြည့်စုံခြင်းအရာသည် ချိုမြိန်၏။ ဒုစရိုက်ကို ရှောင်သောအရာမူကား၊ မိုက်သောသူတို့ စက်ဆုပ်သော အရာဖြစ်၏။
The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
20 ၂၀ ပညာရှိတို့နှင့်ပေါင်းဘော်သောသူသည် ပညာ ရှိတတ်၏။ လူမိုက်တို့နှင့် ပေါင်းဘော်သောသူမူကား၊ ပျက်စီးတတ်၏။
He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
21 ၂၁ အပြစ်ရှိသော သူတို့ကို ဘေးလိုက်တတ်၏။ ဖြောင့်မတ်သော သူတို့မူကား၊ ကောင်းသောအကျိုးကို ခံရလိမ့်မည်။
Evil pursues sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repaid.
22 ၂၂ သူတော်ကောင်းသည် သားမြေးတို့အဘို့ အမွေ ဥစ္စာကို ချန်ထားတတ်၏။ အပြစ်ရှိသော သူ၏စည်းစိမ် မူကား၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်သော သူတို့အဘို့ သိုထားလျက်ရှိ၏။
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
23 ၂၃ ဆင်းရဲသား၊ လယ်လုပ်ခြင်းအားဖြင့် စားစရာ ပွါးများ၏။ သို့ရာတွင်၊ မတရားသော အမှုကြောင့် ပျက်စီး ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်တတ်၏။
Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
24 ၂၄ ကြိမ်လုံးကို မသုံးသောသူသည် မိမိသားကို မုန်းရာသို့ ရောက်၏။ သားကိုချစ်သောသူမူကား၊ ငယ် သောအရွယ်မှစ၍ ဆုံးမတတ်၏။
He that spares his rod hates his son: but he that loves him chastens him betimes.
The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
