အာမုတ် 8
1 ၁ ငါသည်အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရားထံမှရူပါရုံ တစ်ခုကိုမြင်ရ၏။ ထိုရူပါရုံတွင်အသီး မှည့်များထည့်ထားသောခြင်းတောင်းတစ်ခု ကိုတွေ့ရ၏။-
These things the Lord shewed to me: and behold a hook to draw down the fruit.
2 ၂ ထာဝရဘုရားကငါ့အား``အာမုတ် အဘယ်အရာကိုမြင်သနည်း'' ဟု မေး တော်မူသဖြင့်၊ ငါကလည်း``အသီးမှည့်များထည့်ထားသော ခြင်းတောင်းတစ်ခုကိုမြင်ရပါသည်'' ဟု လျှောက်လေသည်။ ထာဝရဘုရားကငါ ၏လူမျိုးတော်ဣသရေလတို့သည်မှည့် ရော်၍ ကြွေပျက်တော့မည့်နောက်ဆုံးသော ကာလသို့ရောက်လာပြီ။ ငါသည်သူတို့ ၏ပြစ်မှုများကိုသည်းမခံတော့ဘဲ အပြစ်ပေးရတော့မည်။-
And he said: What seest thou, Amos? And I said: A hook to draw down fruit. And the Lord said to me: The end is come upon my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more.
3 ၃ ထိုနေ့၌နန်းတွင်းတေးသံတို့သည် ငိုကြွေး သံများအဖြစ်သို့ကူးပြောင်းသွားလိမ့်မည်။ နေရာအနှံ့အပြား၌အလောင်းကောင် များရှိနေပြီး ယင်းအလောင်းများကိုတိတ် တဆိတ်စွန့်ပစ်ကြလိမ့်မည်'' ဟုအရှင် ထာဝရဘုရားမိန့်တော်မူ၏။
And the hinges of the temple shall screak in that day, saith the Lord God: many shall die: silence shall be cast in every place.
4 ၄ ငတ်မွတ်သူများကိုနင်းချေ၍ဆင်းရဲသော ပြည်သူတို့အား ဖိနှိပ်ချုပ်ချယ်နေကြသူ တို့၊ ဤစကားကိုနားထောင်ကြလော့။-
Hear this, you that crush the poor, and make the needy of the land to fail,
5 ၅ ``ငါတို့သည်ဂျုံစပါးကိုရောင်းလိုလှပြီ။ သန့်ရှင်းရာနေ့လွန်အောင်ပင်မစောင့်နိုင်အောင် ဖြစ်နေကြပြီ။ ဥပုသ်နေ့သည်ဘယ်သောခါ မှကုန်ပါမည်နည်း။ ထိုနေ့လွန်လျှင်ငါတို့ သည်မမှန်သောတင်းတောင်းနှင့် အလေးခိုး ပြီးမမှန်သောချိန်ခွင်ကိုသုံး၍စျေးတင် ရောင်းချမည်။-
Saying: When will the month be over, and we shall sell our wares: and the sabbath, and we shall open the corn: that we may lessen the measure, and increase the sicle, and may convey in deceitful balances,
6 ၆ တန်ဖိုးမရှိသောဂျုံစပါးကိုတက်စျေး ဖြင့်ရောင်းမည်။ အကြွေးနစ်လွန်းသဖြင့် ဆင်းရဲနေသူကိုရှာပြီးကျွန်အဖြစ်နှင့် ခြေနင်းတစ်ရံစာမျှဖြင့်ဝယ်ယူမည်'' ဟုသင်တို့ဆိုကြလေပြီ။
That we may possess the needy for money, and the poor for a pair of shoes, and may sell the refuse of the corn?
7 ၇ ထာဝရဘုရားက``ငါသည်ဤသူတို့၏ ယုတ်မာမှုများကို ဘယ်သောခါမှမမေ့ နိုင်ဟုယာကုပ်၏ဘုန်းတန်ခိုးကိုတိုင်တည် ၍ကျိန်ဆိုတော်မူပြီ။-
The Lord hath sworn against the pride of Jacob: surely I will never forget all their works.
8 ၈ ဤပြစ်မှုများကြောင့်မြေငလျင်ကြီးလှုပ်ခါ တစ်ပြည်လုံးရှိပြည်သူမှန်သမျှဝမ်းနည်းပူ ဆွေးရကြမည်။ တစ်နိုင်ငံလုံးသည်အီဂျစ်ပြည် မှနိုင်းမြစ်ကဲ့သို့တက်၍ကျ၍ဆတ်ဆတ် ခါအောင်တုန်လှုပ်သွားလိမ့်မည်။-
Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein: and rise up altogether as a river, and be cast out, and run down as the river of Egypt?
9 ၉ ငါသည်ထိုနေ့တွင်မွန်းတည့်အချိန်၌နေကို ဝင်စေပြီးနေ့အချိန်မှာပင် မြေတစ်ပြင်လုံး ၌အမှောင်ဖုံးသွားစေမည်ဟုအရှင်ထာဝရ ဘုရားမိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that the sun shall go down at midday, and I will make the earth dark in the day of light:
10 ၁၀ သင်တို့ပျော်ပွဲရွှင်ပွဲများကိုမသာပွဲအဖြစ် သို့ပြောင်းပစ်မည်။ သင်တို့တက်ကြွရွှင်မြူးသော တေးသံတို့ကိုငိုကြွေးသံများဖြစ်သွားစေ မည်။ သင်တို့သည်ဆံပင်များကိုရိတ်ပြီးလျှော် တေအဝတ်ကိုဝတ်ရလိမ့်မည်။ တစ်ဦးတည်း သောသားသေဆုံးသဖြင့်ရတက်ပွားရသည့် မိဘပမာဖြစ်ရကြမည်။ နေဝင်သည့်တိုင် ထိုနေ့တာသည်ဆိုးဝါးလှမည်။
And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation: and I will bring up sackcloth upon every back of yours, and baldness upon every head: and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the latter end thereof as a bitter day.
11 ၁၁ ``တစ်ပြည်လုံးငတ်မွတ်ရမည့်ကပ်ဆိုးကြီး ကိုငါကျရောက်စေမည်။ အစာအတွက်ငတ် မွတ်ခြင်းမဟုတ်။ ရေကိုဆာလောင်ခြင်းလည်း မဟုတ်။ ထာဝရဘုရားထံတော်မှသတင်း စကားတော်ကိုငတ်မွတ်ခြင်းပင်ဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။ ထိုနေ့များရောက်ရှိလာတော့မည်။ ငါအရှင် ထာဝရဘုရားမိန့်တော်မူပြီ။-
Behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will send forth a famine into the land: not a famine of bread, nor a thirst of water, but of hearing the word of the Lord.
12 ၁၂ လူတို့သည်ပင်လယ်သေမှမြေထဲပင်လယ် တိုင်အောင်လည်းကောင်း မြောက်အရပ်မှအရှေ့ သို့လည်းကောင်း၊ နေရာအနှံ့အပြား၌သတင်း စကားတော်ကိုလှည့်လည်၍ရှာကြသော်လည်း သတင်းစကားတော်ကိုမတွေ့ဘဲနေကြ လိမ့်မည်။-
And they shall move from sea to sea, and from the north to the east: they shall go about seeking the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
13 ၁၃ ထိုနေ့၌အလွန်ကျန်းမာသည့်လုလင်နှင့် မိန်းမပျိုများပင်လျှင်ရေငတ်လွန်းသဖြင့် လဲကြလိမ့်မည်။-
In that day the fair virgins, and the young men shall faint for thirst.
14 ၁၄ ရှမာရိဘုရားရုပ်တုများကိုတိုင်တည်ကာ ကျိန်ဆိုလေ့ရှိသူများ`ဒန်ဘုရား' ကိုသော် လည်းကောင်း `ဗေရရှေဘမြို့လမ်းရှိဘုရား' ကို လည်းကောင်း၊ ထိုဘုရားတို့အသက်ရှင်တော် မူသည့်အတိုင်းဟုတိုင်တည်ကာ ကျိန်ဆို တတ်သူအပေါင်းတို့သည်ပြန်မထနိုင် အောင်ပင်ပြိုလဲတော့မည်'' ဟုမိန့်တော် မူ၏။
They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say: Thy God, O Dan, liveth: and the way of Bersabee liveth: and they shall fall, and shall rise no more.
